  1. Hey man, just dropping in to ask what kind of fin sides did you get and also now that your 4 years out are you still using the CR Labs, Havogen patch and laser band? I'm just curious because I'm 9 months and fin now and thankfully no sides yet but the thought of sides scares me. Also I had a transplant with Saifi 4 months ago and he tried to sell me all the CR Labs stuff too but I was skeptical of it because of the high prices and sparsity of online material supporting it. Anyway you look good man and I hope your keeping well. Best regards bro.
  2. Fingers crossed John. I'm nearly sure I've seen guys show strong signs of new life at 3-4 months, but yeah I guess you're right, its still fairly early in the process. I'll try bear some extra patience. Thanks.
  3. Thanks for your input guys. Its reassuring to hear that it seems to be on track. I was getting a bit worried that I might be slowing early signs of limited growth, but if you guys say its looking well for this stage I'll take your word for it and forget about it again until next month.
  4. 4 month update: New hairs have definitely become quite perceptible over the past few weeks. Depending on what angle you see them from they can look quite obvious or not so obvious. Generally though at this stage I would go as far as saying there has been a small cosmetic improvement. However there is still a pink tint in the transplanted areas, I am wondering when this will fade? Although the pink hue is often not very obvious (depending on what light I am in). The pictures don't capture the fine details very well here so I must apologize for that! If you look closely and feel the hairs a lot of them are quite thin. I am hoping many of the new hairs are still behind the scalp because there's not actually a huge number of new hairs in bloom. I guess this is when the magic should really start happening so hopefully there's an awesome transformation from this point on. My hair is purposely not styled in this pic, and purposely brushed forward. I'm looking forward to the barbers opening again so I can get some cool styles.
  5. I think he's been at it since 1995 so yeah he has the years under his belt. Although I think HRBR has been there since 03/04, so by now they have a lot of experience too. The 9 month waiting list is interesting. I'd like to know what his waiting list is normally like. I was able to get a date within a month but that's probably because Covid-19 has effected appointments. Can you link me your story or some pics, either here or via PM please? Its great to know you've been delighted with your result, it gives me hope. I asked about the prospect of a second procedure. He said I shouldn't need one any time soon because there was not much thinning in my native hair (at least not yet anyway). Also I had started finasteride a few months prior to surgery, and now I have added Regaine to the mix, so I'm hoping my hair will stay strong for another few years. He did say I might need another hair transplant some time in the future as most patients need at least 2, but he said I probably won't need to consider that in the immediate future. I was aware of the protocol concerning 2+ transplants anyway, but like yourself I'm hoping it won't be neccesary until I'm 45+ or thereabouts. I'll be 31 this year.
  6. Cool. I'll check out your profile for pictures. Its starting to kind of kick in now. HRBR is expensive but actually if you adjust Saifi's prices to the cost of living in Poland you'll find his prices are high too. To save €5,000 in Poland takes the same amount of time as saving €16,000 in Ireland, based on wages and the cost of living.
  7. Hopefully it all goes well. Fingers crossed. Thanks.
  8. Hi Ian, I'm not too bad, thanks. A few hairs have been growing for a while now, they are mostly thin but I believe they will thicken up. There's definitely more hair on my hairline now compare to pre-op, but broadly speaking there still has not been much activity, nothing to get too excited about (yet) anyway. There are a few hairs growing out at silly angles but they are mostly not noticeable. I'm still less than 4 months out of surgey. I'm expecting a rush of activity to start flowing very soon. I'm a bit worried that some of the new hairs might grow at faulty angles but I'm trying not to worry too much about that for now. I'll update my thread with pictures here next week when I hit the 4 month mark.
  9. Cool man. I'm good thanks. I got FUE 2,040 grafts. Mine was always straight when I was young but I've pressed it to the side for like 10 years now to cover up baldness. I'm just hoping the angles/directions don't come out mad looking. Yours looks good anyway, it looks like it grows a bit to one side. Thanks for your advice I will try not to focus too much attention on it over the next few months.
  10. Delighted to see you got a good result that you're really pleased with. Congratulations my friend. I'm a Dr Saifi patient myself. I had a procedure done almost 3.5 months ago so now I'm just waiting for the magic to happen. He angled/directed my grafts to grow to the left because I had pressed such a hard pattern into my hair through years of combovers. I'm worried and excited for my result. I just had the hairline done. I've noticed by your pics you seem to push your hair to the left a bit too. Did Saifi indicate to you that he'd be angling/pointing your grafts in a particular style too?
  11. Ok guys. These photos mark the 3 month update. Its exactly 3 months today since I had surgery. Some of the hairs that never shed actually grew. It seems as if a sparse few hairs may have sprouted too over the past few months, but by and large there has been very minimal activity yet. I'm not expecting much to become protuberant until month 4 and thereafter. I know that the hairs have been directed/angled to grow to the left, after years of pressing my hair to the left the hair seems to have a pattern of growth in that way. My worry is though that the angles/directions will be too extreme, or that they will grow out arseways and maybe look silly. Perhaps these worries are normal though? Of the few hairs that have been growing it seems as if most seem to point at a fairly normal trajectory but there are a few that are coming out pointing upwards and I don't want to see too many of them coming out like that. Another thing is that one or two seem to curl a little. As for healing, everything seems to be healed to an ok standard. There is still a slightly pink tint to the transplanted zones but I think this is normal until month 5 or thereabouts? I will maybe try to get more close-up better quality pictures of the individual hairs that sprouted so you can get a better viewpoint of them. As I mentioned earlier I have often whipped my hair to the left but for the purpose of a lot of my updates here I've been brushing it forward a bit. My hair traditionally always fell flat and forward. At this point I guess I am still excited, nervous and worried all at the same time. I believe month 4 - month 8 is when most of the magic happens so the next few months will be interesting. I hope everybody is keeping well.
  12. Oh wow. I have done a bit of research on this forum and have noticed a few bad reviews, but I didn't realise the Youtube video that I posted was "junk." Also I didn't know that you have been sued on multiple occasions. The Youtube video that I posted intrigued me. I thought it seemed truthful and honest, and that's why I posted it here. In posting that video my intention was to raise awareness about dark corners of the HT industry. If I have done something very bad then I apoligize, but for the record my intentions bore no malice.
  13. Hey guys, I stumbled upon this video on Youtube. I think its important for everybody with an interest in HT surgery to see this This vid offers an explanation as to why we don't see more negative feedback concerning HT surgery. Could it be that there are a lot of guys out there that are really shattered from bearing the force of bad transplants? Frightening and sad!
  14. Mate thanks so much for your input and for that excellent photo. Those black tips are exactly what I'm experiencing. It is comforting to know that yours are also going against the grain because this makes me feel like it is perhaps a common phenomenon, and therefore hopefully the hair will fall flat with some extra time. Mine were implanted to grow slightly to the left, and I assume down my forehead, but there's a few pointing outwards at a 90/100/120 degree angle, like pointing up towards the roof, and some growing too far to the left. A few are growing down my forehead though which is what I want. Its a bit mad looking lol. Interesting theory on the black blobs. I haven't trimmed mine yet and probably won't for a while. I can see one of your blobbed hairs curling though, some of mine are also curling like that. A lot of my hairs shed in the first few weeks, but some didn't. Thanks again for your input bro. I'd be interested in seeing your transplant story, I can't find it on your page...
  15. Man that is good to hear. Thanks for dropping in to let me know. I would say about 10 hairs are growing crazy for me and they are all singles at the hairline. The angles are just so strong, like they are vertical and even water doesn't press them down, they look so crazy. I'll try and clear my mind until at least month 4. Honestly though its good to know thar you noticed similar discrepancies too. I'd be utterly heartbroken if things didn't work out well. I hope you are keeping well yourself buddy.
  16. No. I asked Dr Barghouti here though, he said not to worry too much until it has grown to a length where different styles can be tried. I'm curious to know if this is totally abnormal or not though. I'd like to hear from other transplant patients.
  17. At 2 months is it normal for a few hairs to be grown but at very strong unusual angles? I seem to have a few hairs pointing out at mad angles and they won't go any other way for love or money. I just wonder is this a regular thing at this stage? I saw a post somewhere online that said at the 8 week stage that could just be a sign of the shaft lengthening and preparing to shed. The tips of these hairs are a little unusual too, they sort have a black tip on them, they look as if they've been singed, I assume maybe the odd tips are bulbs or something like that?
  18. Here might be better. You can see incongruent hairs sticking up here.
  19. Its very hard to get a good clear picture. This is thr best I can do. You can't see much here but if you look closely you might see a few hairs pointing upwards. At least one hair comes out at such a strong trajectory that it points/curls upwards and won't easily sit. One of my worries was that he'd make a balls out of the angles/directions, he said I had strong patterns and he was implementing this into his procedure. I know its a long way out from the final result and I'll be delighted if everything is fine but this is a bit of a worry. My Dr was Dr Saifi in Poland. My native hair is kind of parted to one side here to place beyter emphasis on the recipient area.
  20. Hey, I'm 2 months out of surgery. Most of my transplanted hair shed, but some didn't. Some of it has actually grown, but there's a few hairs pointing out at really wild trajectories. During my transplant I was told the hairs would be angled pointing a bit to the left (as the doctor my normal hair went that way), but what I'm seeing now is totally unnatural looking. I know I'm a very long way out from seeing the result but is this normal for this stage right now? I'll upload pictures tomorrow.
  21. That's good, yeah. Is Dr Ashad really excellent?
  22. £3 per graft is cheap for the UK. £8 per graft is still not as expensive as HRBR, Dublin. They charge €10 per graft.
  23. Yeah, I've noticed they are super cheap but of course the cost of living India is so low.
