  1. 9 months. New style. Wearing gel in the hair here. These photos really show the discrepancy between the temporal peaks and the native hair. Its a discrepancy that can be noticed when the hair is buzzed very short around the sides. Under certain lights its not so obvious though, and most people wouldn't really notice it unless they were looking for it.
  2. I think I might have asked this before, but I've forgotten the answer: I bought two cans of Regaine off a guy. 2 bottles for €15. The catch is that they have passed their expiry date. They are only very recently out of date August 2021. They have never been opened. Will they be as good as fresh cans while I work my way through them over the next 2 months, or have I wasted my money? 🤷‍♀️
  3. Thanks everybody I'd say it might be nearly finished now but who knows might even mature a bit more. I am actually on meds yes, I have been on fin (1.25mg most days) since July 2020, and I also started Rogaine foam in January 2021.
  4. 8 month update (1 week and 2 days late). Generally quite good bar one or two minor discrepancies. Blends naturally. Weaknesses can be seen when examined under certain lighting but this is probably the norm with transplants and it doesn't bother me too much. Hair is brushed forward with a fine comb in some pics and in others it is just styled the way I often styled it. I'll put wet hair pics and slicked back pics and pics with hair in different styles and lights on another occasion.
  5. Hey Kanadian, I actually went with Saifi in the end but not because I didn't trust Anastasakis. I just went to Saifi because he was more convenient and he had more pics of white skinned blonde haired patients like myself, and also at the time with Covid it was easier to travel to Poland. I would say Anastasakis is absolutely solid mate to be honest. His customer service is very good, its very customer focused. I contacted his clinic several times while I was researching surgery. They were genuine in their concern for patient welfare. Also his quotes are somewhat Conservative and modest. He's very long-term orientated. He's one of the cheapest quality surgeons on the market and he is very proud of his mastery in both FUT and FUE. I spoke to an Irish guy that had his HT done by Anastasakis and he was delighted with the result.
  6. Wow! Some very exciting content here guys. Some very interesting videos for me to enjoy this evening. Thank you all for your input. The future looks exciting Long live out hair
  7. What will the future of hair loss treatment be and how far away is it? We're all familiar with our Regaine and our finasteride, but the tragic thing about these medicines is (apart from the potential sides) that they apparently lose efficacy after a few years. I'm 1 year on fin now and 6 months on Regaine, had my first HT too 7 months ago. Right now I love how my hair is looking, the added thickness and new hairline are really making me feel great, but I dread the reality of seeing things fade again in maybe 5 years or so. Hence why I'd love to know what the future of treatment might be. I wonder if new treatments will hit the market within the next 5 years. I've heard of exosomes but don't know much about them. It would be cool if some of the medical experts could give their opinions here
  8. Clinic in Poland is called MD Medmix! Gatsby bro thanks very much It would be great if it gets any better. Cheers man.
  9. I live in Ireland and went to Dr Saifi for FUE 7 months ago. Reasonaby happy with the result. Price was about €2.67 per graft when I was there, for FUT his prices are a bit cheaper. His FUT price was about €2.30 per graft when I was there 7 months ago. I would recommend checking Dr Anastasakis in Greece too. He seems like a legend. He seems to have a top quality clinic, great team, many years of experience in both FUE and FUT, great care and precision in his work etc. I was going to get mine done with him but as things worked out I ended up doing it with Saifi in Poland. Based on my knowledge and experience of Dr Anastasakis though I can nearly guarantee that you'll get a good job done with him. I'm surprised there's not more about him on this forum. I got great customer service from his clinic and I talked to a dermatologist in Ireland (Dr P. Prendergast) who highly recommended him. Dr Prendergast had a HT himself performed by Dr Anastasakis. When I enquired last year Dr Anastasakis charged about €2.50 per graft for FUE.
  10. Cheers bro. Yeah I think there's 2 or 3 of them anyway, with Saifi being the most well-known. There's a chap there called Koloniski or something like that, he also has a lot of experience, although he actually quoted me €8,000+ which was more expensive than Saifi. There is of course less experienced clinics in Poland too. They are cheaper but they might be more risky than some of the more established places. I went to one called HairMax (I think that's what it was) in Bielska-Biela 3 - 4 years ago. I didn't have much money at the time, I discovered them on Qunomedical. They were going to do something like 1,800 grafts for €2,500. They didn't perform surgery on me because I had psoriasis on my scalp at the time. In hindsight I'm glad I ended up going to Saifi 3 years later, because he has the experience and what not, but I was also impressed by the ethical standards and honest conservative approach to surgery offered by the cheaper clinic in Bielska-Biela. I have no idea if that transplant would have been hugely successful or not, but I'm inclined to think it might have gone alright.
  11. Hey, I do usually wear my bangs down, although sometimes I quiff it up just a little. I'll do a few different styles and take pics of them here in due course Good idea, maybe I'll wait until I thin out more before going back again.
  12. Thanks guys. I'll do a slicked back one and a range of other styles over the next few weeks maybe to give you all a better idea of how it truly looks. I hope everybody here is keeping well
  13. 7 month update: Perhaps a bit more thickening has happened. Not sure if any new hairs have popped, maybe they have, maybe the haven't. Generally the transplant is quite satisfying. The visual result is perceptible and it looks fairly natural when you see it in person. Some hairstyles compliment it better than others. However under some conditions you'd see discrepancies between the transplanted hair and the native hair. Its defo a good bit thinner/sparser. Some of the hairs are growing in a slightly weird looking manner. There's some gappy bits at the hairline. The temporal peaks look a tiny bit altered when the hair is buzzed tight if you look closely. But as I said, generally speaking, the result is grand. Of course I'd like for it to be thicker, denser, better and more natural, but I'm not too bothered by the shortfalls of it. I'm a lot happier with my hair now than I was before. I could get a top up to make it a good deal better but I don't think I'll bother, not now anyway, because I don't feel too obsessive about the shortfalls of it. In due course I'll put more pics of it up showing different styles, different angles and different light conditions to give a good view of what its like in all its glory. I think the most important thing about it at this stage is that if you met me in a pub you wouldn't think I've ever had thinning hair or a receding hairline, and you'd never know I had a hair transplant.
  14. Yeah of course, I see your point man. Even if I got a good few extra hairs and a nice degree of thickening I'd be quite happy, I think. If it buffs up a bit more and if a handful of new hairs sprout I don't think I'll bother with a touch-up, I'd probably just leave it as it is.
  15. Yeah, hopefully it will thicken. Cheers. 2,040 grafts to be precise so I guess if I wanted I could go get more density added in due course.
  16. @JohnAC71 it has defo improved a bit since last month, but I'm not noticing any new hairs popping, haven't noticed any for a while now. Maybe they are popping abeilt very discretely. It would be wonderful if more improvements take place. @Falconary thanks very much! The hairline looks fine (in my opinion) but when you look closely its definitely not as dense as my native hair. Right side is defo stronger looking than the left. Generally in real life you wouldn't be able to tell I've had a hair transplant, it mostly looks fine, it's only if you look closely at the hair on the sides (temporal peaks) you might notice something has been altered, but you would only notice this when the hair is buzzed very short.
  17. 6 month update: I'm 4 days late with this but hey better late than never. So my status is that the cosmetic difference of the hair transplant can be very pleasing under most circumstances. It often appears that I have a fairly regular full head of hair, however as you can see from the pics its actually not super thick/dense. On close inspection it can seem a bit thin and a tiny bit gappy, more so on the left side. Another thing that's a bit of a bummer is the temporal peaks on the sides, the hairs there kind of look and feel a bit different to the native hairs when cut short. Nevertheless thus far I'm reasonably happy with the result but to be honest I'd love to see even more of an improvement. With regards to the hair on the sides, bear in mind I had the sides buzzed to a #1 into a #2 like 10 days ago, so the hair there is short, in another week or 2 those transplanted hairs shouldn't look or feel any different to the natives. As for the overall growth, it seems to be mostly growing at a normal angle and in a normal direction which is good.
  18. Cool man. Very interesting. Thanks for this input
  19. Cool man. I've never heard of fluidil, I'll go research it. I wonder is topical dut good and does it have side effects. I'm excited by the idea of alternatives because I'd love to have a really effective treatment with no sides. I'm on fin and although I don't think I'm too badly affected by it I have noticed a lower libido and runny fluids.
  20. Is there any effective alternatives to finasteride? If not, will there be any new treatments in years to come?
  21. I'm 10 months on oral fin and the results have definitely yielded; no hair loss and thicker hair, but I'm starting to worry that maybe my sexual abilities are experiencing effects. I've never really had a partner, in the pre-Covid world I'd hook up with an escort once every few months, but I used to masturbate frequently and I had high sexual aggression and at times frequent strong elections. Now however I'm not getting those disruptive sexual fantasies as much, and although it seems like I can still get an erection, I don't seem to get that insane throbbing erection any more. To be honest I don't mind having a slightly lower sex drive because a high sex drive is/was disruptive for me anyway, but I'd like to be able to have that super high quality erection whenever I do avail of relief. Maybe its a combo of a few things driving me erection quality down; Covid-lockdown depression, overdosed on porn, haven't seen any women in miniskirts since last year, and of course finasteride! So, I'm wondering 2 things: 1) Can you pop Viagra when your on finasteride and does it make you super solid? 2) Are there other treatments that are super effective for hair loss with less sides? What about topical finasteride? Answers would be appreciated guys. Thanks so much.
  22. Wow! Well that's reassuring, but its also daunting because it means I have to wait such a long time before I can gauge the result. Such a long process requires patience. Hopefully it will improve a lot more.
  23. Thanks! Do you think? I feel as if the left side is actually very thin and sparse, and also, I'm not really seeing many new hairs pricking out amongst the hairs that have already sprouted. Should I expect some more popping in due course?
