Potential Malpractice from Dr.Wong on reddit here

I have a HT booked later this year with Dr.Wong. I decided to go with him mostly due to the good reputation and results this clinic has produced over the years. Now today I run into this Reddit post about the failed surgery and how Dr.Wong was potentially not fully performing the surgery and someone else took it over resulting in bad HT. Has anyone else any input on this? Should I cancel the appointment and look somewhere else? I've been hesitant in HT in Turkey due to bad reputations and the condition of my hair - it has decent hairline and i can cover up good without hair fibers, but It lacks density generally and I was looking to add some more to add volume and to have scalp less visible. Dr.Wong recommended 2000 grafts.

You don’t need them honestly. They are way overrated and making you bankrupt.

If your case is small since you are getting 2000 grafts go to Dr. Perkiner. His results is better and he is really cheap. You will also enjoy turkey while you are there.

If your case is big and you can wait go to Dr.Zarev. If you can’t wait go to Dr.Pitella or  Eugenix.

  2. Idk honestly. I tried to read trought your thread and  you have a really good result and growth on your first 1/3 part of the hairline. the hairline should perhaps have been a little bit higher but that is not the end of the world.
The next step should be focusing on the middle part and the crown. Was this not a 2-step strategy? And also I don’t like the comment of Bissanga on this issue. Eugenix has done wonders with people worse than you. so if I was you I would not listen to him. He would have rejected you as he would probably have done with the Gatbsy case and the others Eugenix have worked with

I've only started looking recently, not since the procedure 12 years ago.  To be fair, I wouldn't call anything "botched"... but I am disappointed with the density of the transplanted area, which has happened over time and their patient follow up was really lacking.  But to answer your question on why I haven't consulted anyone to this point, I suppose I have several reasons.  One, my recovery was very long and difficult. Not sure why, but it seemed to take me a lot longer to heal than expected/what I saw regarding other people's, so I wasn't exactly raring to jump back into something like that again.  And for a while afterward, the results seemed fairly decent.  But over the years, taking into account non-transplanted hair, the area seems way thinner than it should be.   I've also been dealing with long-term health issues over the years, which I'd convinced myself could have some effect on my particular hair woes and was hoping that as I dealt with these, I might have more return naturally and/or make any future transplantation more viable.  Lastly, I haven't been in a place financially to even consider it until recently and I didn't realize there was such a vast medical tourism industry surrounding hair transplants either.  Believe me, I would much rather have spent the last dozen years with less scalp visible too.

Have you been using medication those 12 years? It is just weird to complain after so long period 💀

cobblestoneing is not unpredictable. This is an surgery mistake that can and should be avoided. most doctors (not all) understand this and are able to transplant hair, leaving the recipient's skin clean and undamaged.

I don't know if it's worth fighting with this in your case. You can easily hide it with your hair and not think about it. Unless you want a short haircut or bangs slicked back. I can't to hide cobblestoning in my case, I've been using the dermaroller for a few months with the recommended intervals and it helps (at least for me) but it takes many sessions and a lot of time and I'm not sure if it will help enough that it will stop bothering me and I will start living normally again . I will continue until summer and see if I have to remove the ugly grafts.

So if it bothers you a lot, read up on the dermaroller, how to use it properly and give it a try.

Honestly I prefer shorter hairstyle and I feel I look much better when I have a short hairstyle. But because of the density issue I have been growing out  the hair. But I can always do something about the density issue such as new surgery and that stuff.  but am a bit shocked that I also got cobblestone. I Always thought that one get such things in Turkish unstable clinics and not from doctors. hope @Dr. Patrick Mwambacan explain the reason for that.

thanks for the advice btw @Matt3210i will read up on it and see if I can improve it. but do you see a clear difference from how it looked to how it looks now with the use of the dermarolling? Mine doesn't have to be perfect. just want to improve it to be honest.

@Ajamilo I do see the cobblestoning, but just wondering if a casual observer would notice? It seems like one of those tiny body imperfections that only we ourselves see.

do you normally have your hair pulled back? If not, then the cobblestoning will not be visible.

I'm not denying this is a real issue and you definitely have the right to be stressed about this regardless of how visible or not it is, I am just saying as part of the hair transplant 'illusion' and practical day to day, if the cobblestoning is not noticeable it may be best to consider it like a tiny scar or other minor imperfection that no one else notices.

No I don’t have my hair pulled back usually so that is good.

but I'm afraid to have a short hair style because of two things: lack of density and because of the cobblestoning. thought it was possible to do something with it, such as dermarolling or something else. have heard people use the dermarolling but not sure how good or effective it is

I'm not proud of one stupid post of mine. I could do better. I didn't use a statement and backed out a moment later. There's no shame in being wrong if I admit it. Why are you attacking me now? I wanted to "call the wolf out of the woods". Discrediting, ridiculing and insulting people in defense of Dr. Mwamba is very specific to one person (those who do research know what I mean). There is no doubt that Dr. Mwambe employs a crook to defend him.

Is logical to ask questions regarding his bad results recently and supposedly he is the man when it comes to Afro hair and people refers to him when Afro guys ask about doctors but haven’t produced a decent result here yet. Is a propaganda, misinformation and closing the eyes and hiding away the truth her sadly

If that's true and as a failed patient you have the option to go through a second procedure, that would indeed be a great resolution and comfort knowing that you are in good hands and money well spent.

I really hope that's the reality

He is In a good hands? I have seen 3 real patients cases of people with Afro hair in 2022 that went to mwamba and  that has got little bit growth or nothing at all.  The problem is the propaganda Mustang and some people have done here that has tricked the brothers with Afro hair. So please keep the nonsense to yourself.

I was a bit confused when you first mentioned it looking pluggy because I thought it’s multi grafts that make the hairline look pluggy. I didn’t realise that you hadn’t had the hairline lowered. Was that because it was already as low as it should go from the first transplant? Seems bizarre that Mwamba thought the appearance would drastically improve if they’re not ALL singles on the hairline.

It is strange that both clinics have failed to create density.. I really have my fingers crossed for you that it improves in the next few months.

I would suggest you create a video update on your YouTube channel. No need to slate anyone at this stage, but hopefully your video would get enough views for Mwamba’s clinic to take note and want to improve the situation. They should even offer you the accommodation for free.

He will probably get a free surgery and accommodation for free because of his YouTube channel. That is the different between between normal people and YouTuber.

anyways bro @RTCi gave you my advice the first time and now is a no brainer that you stay away from the clinic and do your research

Update at 6 months and 1 week

    -----------------------------------

The hairline and the hair an inch or so behind the hair has barely grown at all. My hairline is pluggy and see through still. I've grown it very long to cover the hairline.

My temple points have grown in perfectly and look good.

The back looks good at a longer length, but if I cut it short there is a line at the bottom.

I haven't contacted the Dr yet but will take some photos soon and do so. I don't see the point however, as there is no more donor hair to use for the hairline and front of my head. It's pretty much done for me and there is no way back now, I thought this would be the end of my transplant/hair concerns.

It is really sad to hear it bro. there is still time left as it is only 6 months but very strange that it has not grown at all. mine did grow but it was thin all the way and it is still thin and see trought today
but I remember warning you against going to Dr.Mwamba because of your hair type and that to be honest he doesn't master curly hair based on the results I've seen from real patients.

Did the doctor say that your donor is used up?
