Bro. Once you go there you'll "get it." You're like the most perfect candidate for a HT and you're going to the best. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. Just post an after picture here when you're done at the very least. Congrats.

Edit: Just to put your mind at ease, this is what 12 days post op looks like w/ someone like Konior (3rd pic). Pic taken a few days ago. I had my sutures removed. I buzzed it down after. The pic was taken immediately after; if you zoom in you can see freshly cut hairs scattered throughout my face. I won't be posting until my results are final, but in the meantime, just to give you an idea.

Second one is immediately after the Nov. 2020 surgery. First is me in 2012. You're going to the best in the world. How many grafts did u get this last surgery and how many went into the front vs crown?

Dr. Diep offered a free repair. There are several reasons I chose not to take that path, mainly donor treatment and ensuring hairs are placed in the right directions. There are other surgeons who are more skilled in both of these areas, and getting it right is worth the extra cost to me. I will be going significantly upmarket for this repair, and pay for the best.

    Did he offer any explanations?

At this length there’s definitely a noticeable scarring although I expected that. Some lightings it seems to be worse than others, outdoors not particularly noticeable.

pretty much looks like I’d expect it to after 6000+ grafts

I typically get a fade cut with scissors and it doesn’t show at all, I’m guessing it’s a bit over a week from buzzing to a zero before it starts to disappear.

Looks good for 6k grafts. What length clipper guard is the donor in this pic?

  4. I think @Melvin-Moderator can offer some great advice as he made some very helpful videos on concealers. I would maybe buy a trial size of the different kinds and try it out. Post ur pics here and we can give you some honest feedback. I've never used them but if you let the top grow til thanksgiving then I'm thinking a sprinkle of toppik would def thicken up the top. Like another poster said, concealers need to be kept away from the hairline.

  5. It doesnt look too frizzy to me? If your transplant is still under 18 months, then you still have a chance that the hair will settle in as it goes through growth phases. However, if its past that time then there might have been some trauma during the surgery and it may be something you have to deal with long term. Maybe speaking to a good hair dresser can help with giving recommendations for products to use.

  6. Theres quite a few patient posted results from what I remember over the years. They seem to be an ethical clinic with caring doctors and offer good prices. I believe they used to do all manual FUE but not have switched over to the WAW punch, not sure if this has affected their quality as many top doctors use the WAW system nowadays. They have a rep here that was repaired by them. I personally think they are a great clinic for the cost.

    Here is an objective take:

Dr. Diep has poor donor management technique. He uses 1mm punches, which is no longer considered best practice by any top clinic in the world. With advancements in technique and surgical expertise, 0.8mm punches provide adequate clearance of the follicle in the vast majority of patients, which minimizes donor harm and scarring. Diep universally uses 1mm punches on all his patients.

By his own words, specifically in Baldlivesmatter's post, he says he intentionally harvests one side of the donor area before going to the other side. Look at every single FUE case of H&W, Konior, Shapiro, Lupanzula, Cooley, etc. and you their donors are nowhere near as mangled as Diep. Not only do they use smaller punches with better results, they also utilize the entire donor area to prevent overharvesting.

Dr. Diep utilizes a corn-row technique, which he has defended several times as being the best method for growth, using the metaphor of farm crop. In my entire life, I have never seen hair grow in straight lines, so why the hell would you implant them in that way if you are trying for a natural appearance? Not only that, farmers do not plant in rows for growth - they do it so they can utilize farm equipment which needs room to fit between the crops.

Dr. Diep's FUT incisions and scars are ridiculously bad. Look up every single FUT case on this site, it's night and day difference between any other affiliated surgeon.

Dr. Diep does two cases a day, and has both extractions and incisions done before lunch so his techs can do the rest. This is not done by any other top clinic in America or any top clinic in Europe that I have heard of. If anyone has any examples, let me know. Imagine your surgeon rushing through your procedure to get to the next one. My own procedure was from 0630-1700. It was a relatively low graft case. He is not a slow surgeon. I've heard of cases where Dr. Konior was operating until 11PM. He has decades of experience. Why the hell is Diep trying to get his cases done so fast?

Dr. Diep has several cases of using doubles and triples in hairlines and temple points. I have not seen any other top clinic make this mistake. It is unacceptable.

Dr. Diep makes his patients sign a form after payment but prior to operation that requires arbitration instead of litigation. In one case, a user here by the name of @Specific-violinist60 posted a case where he had 900 grafts implanted but over 1300 holes in the back of his head. The post has since been archived. I spoke to the moderator of this site on another thread where he said he would look into the archived post to verify for himself that there were 1300 holes and only 900 grafts implanted, as proven by pictures, but he never responded. I pm'd him a couple weeks later, and he didn't respond again. You can take of that what you will, but to me it is very telling.

Bottom line is, the end does not justify the means. That is @jimcraig152's point in this thread. You cannot simply judge the end result. Donor management is equally if not more important. Diep half-asses his extraction technique by minimizing the spread over the back of the head, which saves him time. His incisions are done in rows for the sake of expediency. The right temple of all his patients is worse looking than the left side, because he starts on the left and moves to the right. When he does full crown work, it is always done in rows.

All surgeons have at least one unhappy patient. It is naïve to consider otherwise. The problem is, Diep had by my count five unhappy patients post on this site in the last year. I haven't seen a single completely satisfied patient post on this site that had their procedure in the last year. I can use objective standards to show how his results are at the very least unnatural. All of his caucasian patients with straight hair have hairlines that look like a ken doll if you zoom in. I posted all of them within the last three years on another thread, so you can see for yourself.

There is a very similar case at the spanish forum recuperarelpelo.

Similar pattern of hair loss, numbers of grafts used, similar area (minus temples) and also ended up with less density than desired. The doctor who performed the surgery is Bruno Pinto.

I wonder how much the “excess fibrin” noted in his second day post op contributed to a poor result of the pinto patient. He def has more scabbing than normal.

  9. Memberships honestly mean close to nothing. Look at results preferably posted by patients. I’d consider adding HLC to ur list. Only doctors doing the work, manual extraction, use state of the art tools such as cole punches, they seem to manage donors well, etc. fairly priced as well

Happy Anniversary to me. Today marks exactly 2 years since starting the journey. I started with Finesteride 1mg September 26 2018.

Below is taken earlier with some cbd spray in front and Minox on top so its a little wet/matted. But also gives a great view of how I have fared over the past 2 years.  I combed it all in the direction I believe it naturally wants to go in as well.

I started to use the derma roller lower on the hair line to see if I can activate other follicles and lower the hairline. Will be a good experiment. I started this knowingly last night.

Anywho, I've been super religious since day one with everything and so far its payed off.

For comparison. The first picture was taken late 2015 early 2016 and it got considerably worse in the 2 years after.  The crown was already gone by that point. The next 2 years the front temples just disappeared. The red circle pic is I believe from early 2015? (maybe 14? I label my pictures by date now) when I realized spiky hair did not work anymore so I tried to grow it out.  What was I thinking lol. You can actually see the progression from the 1st and second pics (reversed)

** corona virus and lockdown and a long life lol has completely made me misinterpret time, days weeks months all melt into one so even the dates I am posting might be wrong.  I cant even believe I started this 2 years ago today, I had to scroll back into this thread to find out when I did. Thankfully I posted it! Someone asked me how old I was the other day and I had to think about it LOL

Fantastic. Is your regimen the same? Is the updated one listed anywhere?

Both he and the surgeon requested it, funny enough it was one of the surgeons you mentioned. Anyways, it’s neither here nor there, I have no desire to drum up old drama.

    Best wishes,

Melvin, isn’t it against the forum policy to delete threads and posts? They only get archived I assumed?
