  1. Yes, they have technicians doing the extractions there and also the implantions. I believe both doctors only do the slits. Personally, I think they are doing really good work. Their techs have been there for many years. Their recent FUE results have been looking good. There are other options you can consider if you only want the doctor doing work. This includes konior and his protege nadimi. However, their surgery comes at a premium.

  2. Sorry to hear that you are experiencing side effects? Have you tried altering your dose? How about topical liposomal finasteride?

In terms of your options, thats a tough one. My recommendation would be to visit some reputable/honest surgeon near you and get their opinions and maybe to create a plan. I believe hattingen hair with dr. muresanu is in your country. I've heard very good things about them. Obviously just consult with them and do not commit to surgery just yet. Good luck

Hello there, sorry, things got busy with the whole Covid thing. I have my surgery scheduled mid next-week and I will start a new thread for the same. My results were decent for the last time. As many have said - large area coverage, not many good quality donors from the strip etc did not help me much. I also had all my native hairs in the recipient area fall due to shock loss as they were prone to loss eventually anyway. It's still pretty good I would say. I will post some pictures soon.

This time I feel good because I met Dr. Konior for a consultation this time prior to the surgery. He confirmed that I have got good quality donors that can be handpicked for FUE, and we are only targeting a relatively small area in the frontal section to really thicken it up, which is what I want. I still have a bit of a concern with pimples due to my body type. Dr.Konior said he can prevent it by using a specific antibiotic this time. Hoping for the best result! Pray for me!

If everything goes well as expected this time, something tells me that I will be back soon for another. :)

how were you able to get in so quick? I thought his waiting list was over a year

According to our experience, there will always be microscopic scarring on the donor area after grafts have been harvested. They will not be obvious but if the hair on the donor area is kept quite short (trimmed or shaved) then the collective absence of hair will outline the empty area. Even in the beard area when used for donor grafts, a two or three day stubble can reveal a thinner density on the extracted parts.

What are your views on this?

Hi Nelson, what minimum length do you typically advise Eugenix patients to keep their donors? I know in the past it has been stated your clinic uses .9-.95 punches for the majority of patients.

  5. Can’t give a solid answer as there’s many possibilities. Some doctors use a manual punch so it’s more time consuming. Others use motorized so it’s quicker. Some doctors are of the mindset that they need to limit the number of grafts taken in one session to not stress out the donor. Others think it does not matter. Some doctors use time consuming stick and place. Others use pre made slits. Too many possibilities

This restoration was performed over one and a half years, not two and a half years.  There was a one year interval after its completion which is when the final photos were obtained for presentation here.  There is no reason any ethical surgeon would force a fast-track restoration.  First, the patient had been operated on by several physicians with nothing positive to show in terms of graft survival.   An experienced surgeon would first question whether the patient had some intrinsic healing predisposition that compromised graft survival.  Committing to a one-shot restoration would have proved disastrous should his limited supply have been fully depleted with a resultant low yield as had been experience in his prior procedures. Second, he had a highly compromised donor site with extensive scarring and lower quality residual follicular-units.  Attempting the one-shot approach would have risked an over-harvest of the scalp’s donor area with the potential for unacceptable visual thinning and detectable scars.  Finally, a staged approach allows the surgeon to strategically build zones of coverage and density gradients based on the perspective of seeing what a prior procedure was able to accomplish.  Understand that we are using a relatively small number of hairs to hide a vast expanse of scalp.  It is the strategic integration of hair using density gradients, graft insertion angles and prioritization of placement zones that makes a little look like a lot.

    Thanks for all comments.

what are examples of intrinsic healing predispositions that compromise graft survival ?

Same date. I told her about my passion, which is this forum, and how I myself had three hair transplants. I told her that my hair doesn’t always look this good, I still have a bald spot in the back, but it’s a long way from where I came. All in all, I owned it.

Never had an issue, and she’s even helped me film my latest introduction to the hair transplant network video. I’ll be showing you guys this week.

That’s awesome. How old is she? I feel like girls in their late 20s and beyond are less judgmental about stuff like this.

So just to update - I had a call yesterday with Ayfer, Dr Yamans assistant - I had sent some pics via whatsapp and she called within an hour - for me, that is impressive customer service and I really have to take my hat off to Dr Yaman for his aftercare - they have been brilliant. When I see the other stories of Turkish clinics, I'm so glad a took the last minute switch to Yaman!

Few interesting things came out - had the impression they could see some further thinning too, but weren't concerned as a) there still has bee significant growht (which I do agree with to a large extent) and b) The perceived loss in density could well be stress, lifestyle or season related (I'm really thinking seasonal - whenever I get bad hayfever, my hair get's thinner alongside it - anyone else notice that?*)

Anyway, what she did advise me, which I found interesting, was the drop using Nizoral ( I use it probably less than once a week) and just use an organic bar of soap, even make myself. Have ordered some and will see how I go with that I guess. Was surprised as I've never heard anyone say Nizoral is a bad idea!

Considering getting a PRP treatment to see if it gives it a bit of a boost - they advised this could be a good idea.

*Funnily enough, Citirizine, a hayfever medication, has been shown to have a big effect on AGA when applied topically.... https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28604133/

Did she give any reason why nizoral could be harmful?

  9. 5-6k grafts in one go is a big surgery. I would guess bruno doesn’t want to stress or harm the donor in any way. He follows lorenzos logic/pattern as he trained under him. Personally, I would go the slow and steady route starting with the frontal area the first surgery and then doing the crown in the second. Eugenix is a great clinic however and they are doing some large cases successfully
