Dr. Konior said I’ve got maybe 1,000-1,500, but he advised me to get small sessions. Maybe 700 grafts, then a year later another 500 so on and so forth. That’s the best way to keep from looking too depleted.

Did he make any comments regarding the scarring?

I have been very patient until now but I would like to know my options if I dont achieve the results by Dec.

My temple points are different and I had questioned this post surgery. Left side had mostly singles and right had mostly doubles and thats why right is now fuller than the left.

I chose the expensive  option and Dr Sethi did the slits and Extraction was done by Dr Bansal and technicians.

Does touch up require to shave the head again? Ill be gutted if I have to go through that again.

I’d say the only option would be to add more grafts in order to achieve more density. Something like smp in the recipient may be possible but I doubt it would give you what you want. I’ve heard with thick haired individuals double grafts can be possible in temple points but I find it odd that only one side had them. I’d Def bring these up with them if you do decide to have a touch up with them.

i find it a bit odd how a few eugenix cases where there was one guy unhappy with his donor just disappeared. So thanks for keeping us updated

  3. I’d say there’s still some growth to come up until 9 or 10 months but to get to where you want to be you might require a touch up. I’m guessing the docs will likely do this for you free of charge since they are trying to make a name for themselves and seem pretty ethical. You may have to cover flights tho. How are your temple points? Is one still weaker? Would be good to know what they think went wrong as well. Which package did you choose and which doctor did the extractions?

We have performed an FUT scar revision surgery earlier. However, the survival rates of the grafts on the scar tissues are lesser. If you are planning to use yoyr scalp and beard donor then it can e helpful. If you are planning to use body hair then it will have lesser survival rates.

Also, when you perform a transplantation on the scar, the density might not be as thick as the rest of the hair but a decent coverage. Usually plantation on such scars are planned with more grafts planted by the sides where the scar tissue is thinner. This would prevent graft wastage in the center parallel of the scar due to its thickness. But again the nature of the scar tissue is subjective in different subjects.

I’m pretty sure by scar revision he means removing a bulk of the scar tissue then closing it back up using a better method such as trichophytic closure. Not just putting grafts into the scar as you mention

So in terms of Dr. A’s involvement
    - all of anesthetic
    - all of punching and extraction
    - all of channels
    - checking grafts under microscope to pick out soft single hairs for the hairline
    - supervising techs place the grafts
    - check and final refinements at end
Over all great experience as talked about potential future loss and maintence therapy options without being pushy...
    around 2000 FUE grafts

What size punch does he use? Do u know which system he utilizes?

Good call on the aloe.  I've been doing the wash cloth for an hour or so.  It's not really have any effect yet- the alternating is a good call.  Don't think I can get my partner to go back out and get me some oil until tomorrow though- he's already been doing so much for me the last few days and is starting to be a bit over it haha.

I also did buy some conditioner- wondering how long I can reasonably get away with having that on my head before rinsing.

Unrelated note- how do we feel about the hair transplant pattern?  Should it look that row-like?

What does your donor look like?

I'm definitely experiencing slower growth on my third transplant. My first was a small transplant and I wasn't paying as close attention to regrowth times. My second transplant I'm not even kidding that I had about 95% sprouted by the end of my 4th month. Most of which was thick terminal hair by 5 months. I am a little more than a week shy of 5 months on my third transplant and have maybe 50% sprouted and 30% matured. I'm not worried but just interesting to see the difference between the growth rates. I also note that the least amount of growth so far is closet to where the previous transplanted grafts were placed. I actually have more growth in the temple points and further down where the area was virgin scalp. This gives credibility to the theory that the scar tissue from previous transplants has decreased blood supply and takes longer for regrowth.

    Any pics of your journey?

It is certainly a multi-faceted problem, but I still believe in the hands of the most elite surgeons, as evidenced by the threads you see on this site, FUE scarring is not so detectable as the FUT scar for buzzcut lengths.

The ability to shave your head if the transplant is unsuccessful, or if one's hairloss accelerates into overdrive, should not be understated in my opinion.

Do you have any particular objections to the points presented in this thread? https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/topic/32933-the-proscons-of-fue-myths-dispelled/#post2337385

Of course I realize this. I am assuming one does their due diligence and goes to only the best doctors for their procedure.

Did you mean to say many people that get procedures by, let's say hypothetically the top 5 doctors in the world, can no longer shave?

On the other hand, it seems that even if you go to the best FUT doctor in the world, you can no longer shave without the scar being quite apparent. And it may widen over time or you can be susceptible to keloid scarring as well.

There’s too many factors and variables to explain. Good luck with your research

I just think the linear scar is so unsightly. The concept of FUT seems somewhat barbaric, literally tearing out a portion of the person's scalp and sowing it back together.

I may just wait until there are further advancements in FUE that minimizes the gap between them. If things go wrong I would like to have the option to shave my head and not have that joker smile visible to everyone.

I hope you realize fue leaves lots of scarring too. Many people cannot “shave” after having fue because there will be obvious thinning of the donor and scarring in patterns
