  1. Thanks for replying. I am shedding the native hair I believe. Isn't finasteride supposed to be taken everyday? Surgeon was a local one here in India.
  2. + The Predator- Kai Greene I think whey and maybe weight lifting too cause it to shed faster to some extent.
  3. So, the initial use causes faster shedding and the same thing is repeated when one stops taking finasteride. If someone wants to just check whether finasteride is right for them or not then for how much time it is advisable to try the same? I am scared of this faster shedding phase.
  4. Hi, So, I had a transplant in the front area about 8 months back. The transplanted hairs are growing and I would say they have improved much but I am still shedding a lot. The current temperature here is around 100-125 degrees Fahrenheit/40-50 degrees Celcius. For about two or about two and a half months after the procedure this is what I did- Washed hair with filtered water. Used baby shampoo every alternate day and applied aloe vera gel afterwards. Always wore a cap before going out. No workouts. High stress level due to personal and professional reasons. This is what I do now- Wash hair with normal tap water. Use baby shampoo sometimes but mostly herbal shampoo every alternate day. Use Oil(non sticky oil or baby oil) or sometimes aloe vera gel. Discarded the cap completely. Do very light intensity workouts at home, though not regular. Stress level is the same. Used henna, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henna , twice in a gap of a week last month on transplanted hairs also. Now when I wake up in the morning there are about 10-20 hairs on the bed. Shampoo takes out about 20-30 of them. Oil or aloe vera another 20-30. I avoid touching my hair. On my table while working I see atleast 10-15 hairs in a day. I use normal whey protein along with a multivitamin. The hairfall has increased in the past 2-3 months. Maybe I didn't notice it earlier as the hair length was small, I am not sure. Took regular PRP sessions after the transplant but I think PRP is highly overrated no offence to anyone. In my state most of the clinics vouch for PRP only. Only one or two would prescribe finasteride. I called up the clinic today and explained them the issue and they eventually told me to go for 1 mg of finasteride per day for 15 days because as per them skin will become firm with it and it will stop the shedding. When I asked that if anything else is needed to stop the production or reduce the DHT levels, they had no idea what I was talking about. They also told me to go with Hairost SG multivitamins. Anyways due to the lockdown I cannot go to some other doctor. So, here are my questions- 1. Should I change my routine to whatever I followed in the first two/two and a half months? 2. Should I go with Finasteride? If yes then with which one should I go with, the 0.5mg one or the 1mg one? For how many months should I continue it? I am scared of the initial phase when the shedding is super high. 3. Should I change the multivitamin? 4. Any other thing which I need to add here? Avoiding minoxidil as I don't think there's a need of it as of now. Thanks
  5. Let me increase the intensity and I will get back to you.
  6. Do you recommend shampooing more than twice a week? The clinic said once or twice max is more than enough. Do you think that is dandruff or something else? Should I avoid oiling the hair? I oil, a little, only after shampoo.
  7. Thank you. Any home test that I can do to determine 100% what it is? Because of what I am checking on the internet it is dry scalp. Anyways I am going by what you have told. Using some anti dandruff shampoo, not nizoral, and applying some baby oil which is not sticky after the shampoo.
  8. @Melvin-Moderator @Niko1 How to make sure whether one has dandruff or dry scalp? If I turn my head upside down and rub the scalp back and forth over a dark surface then tiny, dry powdery bits fall which is usually a sign of dry scalp. So, how to determine which one a person has out of the two?
  9. Thank you. What should be the Minoxidil % which one can start? Can one apply Minoxidil to the transplanted area?
  10. My point was that if a person in his young age is experiencing hairloss then can he start finasteride without going to the doctor? Moreover many doctors in Asia, like 80-90% of them, after a transplant does not prescribe finasteride to the patients to save the existing hair. They all rely on PRP, maybe because it brings in more moolah. So, can the patients start a 5mg dose too on their own.
  11. Melvin, Can a person take finasteride without consulting a doctor first?
  12. Thanks. Which hair or hair product which is safe for hair should I use after shampoo? I am not into fashion just to give some sense to curly hair.
  13. Thanks. I used to use a mild, as per the bottle, anti hairfall shampoo every alternate day before the transplant, sometimes a conditioner too. Due to the lockdown it will be hard to get hands on a Ketoconazole Shampoo. Should I stick with the baby shampoo and increase its frequency in the meantime? Should I keep on applying oil after shampoo, baby or coconut oil? Is it normal for hairs to come out while applying oil?
  14. Hi, I am in the 5th month after the HT. Recently I noticed some white kinda layer forming on the roots of the transplanted hairs after the shampoo. On non-shampoo days it gets dried up and stick in the hair. Not much but very very few and small particles. Is this dandruff? I never had dandruff before. Now when I scratch the head this wax kinda thing comes out even from the non-transplanted hair scalp. Is this natural oil due to sweat etc.? PFA. I have been using a Baby Shampoo after the transplant, once or twice a week. I do not put water on my hair on non-shampoo days, the clinic said so. Is this fine? I oil my hair after washing them with the shampoo when they are dried naturally. Many hair come out while doing light massages with oil, is this natural? Please guide. Thanks
  15. How exactly is DHT different from FUE and FUT? And since its their own in house technique have they patented it?
  16. Most of the doctors don't recommend Minoxidil or Finasteride here. Just multiple sessions of PRP. Shera what exactly is SMP? And how does it help to protect the transplanted and native hairs?
  17. I have had my session of PRP but honestly I didn't feel that it did any benefit. Results are not swift and native hair do keep on falling. Why are the images in the thread not viewable to me?
  18. Melvin a follow up question, what do you think about the pre work out supplements? Not the fancy one's which will definitely raise the T. But the kinda mild one's which have only caffeine and stuff? @Melvin-Moderator
  19. Brother it doesn't look bad. Stay happy and give it a little time. Please mention the name of the clinic. We are all in the same boat as you. It will help others in taking a decisive decision.
  20. Hi, I experienced few pimples after about 3 months of the procedure. Had a prp done and then they increased, only in the transplanted area though. Is this normal?
  21. Basically every guy here in India who has started his YT channel after the transplant is an agency. Some guys did document their journey and then left YT after they got the results. But the one's who are still there are doing the same thing.
