  1. Coming up on 8 months.

I cannot express enough how much lighter I feel having hair. It really has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. When I finally decided to get a hair transplant, I circled back to the Hair Restoration Network and from that point forward, all my decisions were the right ones. Melvin, you are a magnificent advocate and you do a fantastic job! So thankful to you. And so thankful for all of the support from friends I have made on here. It's nice to have a supporting network for something that many consider a trivial vanity issue but has deeper psychological implications for those who lost a big piece of themselves going bald (and beyond for those who went through tough times in botched attempts to address hair loss - looking at you @Gatsby!)

Baldness is now optional - wise words from a valued member here. Looking at you @Zoomster!

And thanks to Dr. Bansal and the Eugenix team which made this all happen and successfully so!

Likely going back to India for round 2 early next year given my schedule. It's been an amazing experience and it's not over yet.

For context, first pic is the original pic I sent to Eugenix back in late 2019.

  2. Haha - well the word 'chain' is doing a lot of lifting here.

Dr. Sethi has tons of energy but even he has his upper limits as to how many clinics he can manage. It only gets harder once you move out of your licensing jurisdiction as a medical practitioner. It's one thing to have the world come to you as a clinic - it's another to take your practice to the world.

how are you finding it so far? have you noticed anything at all in the way of less shedding etc

edit: can see you talked about this already

Is 1ml the upper limit?  @SLYabove was told to use 4ml

Depends on how much area you're trying to treat. I am only applying to the crown so 1ml is more than enough

  4. I really didn't do proper justice to the review. I put it together yesterday as I have really missed the mark on the 6-month timeline. The hair is ridiculously thick and amazes everyone who knew me before without hair. It's already piqued the interest of some of my former workmates who saw me last week at a retirement party. I've been completely amazed by the results and the dramatic change in my appearance. Looking forward to getting a haircut in the coming weeks but trying to clear some space in my schedule since I am working long weekdays and my Saturdays are now booked with doing a large home renovation.

  5. Hello all,

My apologies for not posting earlier. My plan was to write-up my 6-month review after getting a haircut to show off my fantastic results at this stage but I have been so insanely busy that I have not even had a chance to get to the barber. Doesn't matter, though. I've been so happy just letting my hair grow out and I love how wildly unkempt it is. Just having my hair back has been such a joy that I don't really care how it looks right now. Having said that, a trip to the barber soon is in the forecast.

Before the pics, I just want to say a few things:

First - I am at the 29-week stage now so almost 7 months in.

Second - the hair continues to thicken and it has amazed my family/friends/work colleagues.

Third - I have now had 3 friends ask me to refer them to Eugenix because of my transformation. Glad to do so.

Also, I do apologize for not being as active recently but I am on an insane schedule and have not been doing much screen time with my free time. If you have any questions, please feel free to DM me as I can respond quicker. I won't be on here too much for the coming months as I take care of some projects.

Ok - quick recap. In October, 2021, I had just over 3500 grafts transplanted by Dr. Arika Bansal and her team. I was a NW6 and the focus was on the hairline and mid-scalp with the intention to address the crown in a separate surgery. My donor characteristics are excellent with my hair being thick (I do not know what my average follicle caliber is - sorry). As such, 3500 grafts, for me, has gone a very long way. I am on 2.5 mg oral minox daily, 0.5 mg oral dut 3x per week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and 3 months ago, added Dr. Mwamba's topical dut formula 1x per week only to the crown area after a light microneedling session.

Here's me the day before leaving to India in October, 2021 (the red shadow is from a past SMP treatment that left a semi-permanent red blush on my scalp):

My quick review: Absolutely thrilled about my results. I can't say enough good things about Eugenix and my results. Even to this day, they are still checking up on me to see how I am doing which is great customer service. Met a couple of people who had friends that went to Turkey for their HT's and they both said that my outcome was much more dramatic. I am planning to return either later this year or early next year to finish off the crown, do the temple points and add some volume overall to the mid-scalp.

Hello how many ML used per application? Any side effects? Many thanks for your feedback

I"ve been applying 1 ml to the crown 1x per week after a light microneedling (1mm).

Been doing this for 3 months now. No sides. I can't say that it has made an aesthetically noticeable difference. My crown area is still quite thin but has thickened a little bit since I've been growing all my hair. I'm also taking 2.5 mg of oral minox daily.

I think the benefit really is for those who get sides from oral fin or dut with this particular formula. When I finish up the bottle I may try the Hasson and Wong formula. Not sure it's going to lead to more regrowth but at least I can see if it performs better than this current formula.

Indeed my strategy on this case involved intentional over-harvesting in order to achieve an homogeneous distribution of hair and same density all over.

This is a salient comment - over-harvesting is normally associated as being harmful to the overall esthetic but, if done homogenously, it does not have to mean a bad outcome for the patient. Longer hair will cover the area nicely; short or cropped hair in the donor area can either stand-alone and look fine or SMP can be used as an adjunct treatment.

    Great work, Dr. Pittella!

The point being that I would only pay Zarev level prices for someone who invests that much time into me. I've heard of the doctors from the big name clinics just spending under 15 minutes designing your hairline, doing incisions, and dipping to meet their next patient.

That's fair. Everyone has to be comfortable with the choices they make at the end of the day.

I feel like the same couple of expensive names with good marketing are recommended in this forum, rather than a lot of affordable hair transplant doctors with worse advertising but similar/better results.

There are some great and affordable HT docs across the world but you have to spend time researching and not just relying on a single source like this site. This site is a good starting point, imo, as it provides guys with a standard of what is achievable in a HT and how it can be done safely and ethically. Thus, the big names you often see on here should be considered benchmarks for what you should look for in your research.

But I go to this forum to find hidden gems who focus on their work first, and money and marketing afterwards (Zarev, for example).

If your original concern is that HT surgeons charge too much, then I don't think using Dr. Zarev as an example of a hidden gem will help with your argument. Zarev charges around $30-40k US per surgery, I believe.

people sharing their views in this forum is not to give any publicity to a certain clinic

If you share your views here on how your hair transplant turned out, you are giving publicity to a certain hair clinic, good or bad.

I went to Eugenix and had a remarkable experience (still having it!) Would love others to have the same in their journey but it doesn't have to be at Eugenix. There are some great clinics showing on here: Dr. Pittella in Brazil is one that I also like to follow. And Dr. Zarev - who is not affiliated with this site.

That's what makes this site so resourceful. The WOW clinics are getting some love and so they should be - they are not hair mills.
