This is the reality of the situation. It doesn’t matter what you use or how you suppress DHT, if you are affected by the decline in your levels, you are affected either way.

The key is finding the balance in being able to suppress your DHT to a point in which it halts hair loss, yet doesn’t have any physical or mental implications on your body. Perhaps it will be easier to achieve this with natural supps that offer a milder suppression for some, perhaps microdosing propecia is the solution for some  . . Who knows?

I’m all for a more holistic approach though, as opposed to manufactured chemicals.

Doctors who prescribe the drug withot baseline bloodwork done are wrong imo.

A cosmetic surgeon wshould not be advising a patient to get on the drug before getting baseline bloodwork done.

For example if your baseline DHT is very high I would think the chances of side affects are very very slim.

On the other hand if your baseline DHT is already low you have a much higher chance.

  2. I dont see any market for natural DHT blockers.

If your sensitive to side affect from Propecia. Reducing DHT through natural substance isnt really going to make a difference. If you dont get affects it probably jst isnt reducing DHT all that much & wont have a huge affect & redcing hairloss.

But it is worth a try though I guess.

The strange thing is that when I took Propecia for 2 years . I took it every 3 days the 2.5mg(too high a dose) & it didnt stop my hairloss.

I stopped it in 2017 & thought then I would lose hair rapidly. But I have lost hair at the same rate since. Just lose a small bit every year. Have done since I was 17.

Weird that reducing DHT didnt stop my hairloss.

It's crazy lately how many guys are telling me they want to do a shaved head look but are considering having FUE surgery first because they want some real hair in the frontal zones before doing the SMP. When I point out they will be PERMANENTLY scarring their donor zone they reply "You can fix it though, right?" An explanation I often get for this approach is it seems they are worried that if someone runs their hands over their head it won't be realistic without some stubble.

They also don't get that even if the smallest surgical punch is used the FU will still have some tissue which can lead to ridging in the front (especially when done by anyone other than a top HT doc).

Even though it is a source of income, I'd rather see guys not get this done to them. But thanks all for the positive feedback.

fue scars at back of head are so small though.

I get a zero fade & no body has ever mentioned the small dots.

They are noticeble close up but doesnt bother me at all.

Are there any examples I can see with people NOT on FIN, like please?

Melvin & Bill on here are two examples.

Im not on them anymore & my hair is thinning slowly but still looks fine apart from the crown.

Im certaintly not going to give up anyway. And I will be a norwood 5-6 without transplants, smp in 10-15 years

I actually lost hair on Fin from 2015-2017. It slows hair loss doesnt stop it completly

We have seen big advancemts in Transplants & SMP in the last 10 years. Next 10 years I think they transplants will improve further.

More surgeons will reach this standard

You should use toppik for your thin area's

On the first link the hairline looks ridiculously unnatural, and additionally the picture is so low quality that you can’t zoom in to see how it truly looks. Not even close to flawless.

the second one looks better but two issues there. First off you never ever want SMP all the way to a hairline on a density treatment. It will end up looking like the person buzzed their hair all around their hairline. The second issue is again the pictures are so low quality (and also dark) that you can’t see it well.

this is one of the worst SMP results I’ve ever seen: https://www.instagram.com/p/CVFV-xOKbVH/?utm_medium=copy_link

This is a truly awful hairline and the temple points look horrifichttps://www.instagram.com/p/CRkDdm-qKyn/?utm_medium=copy_link

I’m just trying to help you out man, but it’s your head and your life so I’ll leave you to it.

It could be you didn’t know what to look for, or it could be an outlier and the only good one they’ve done

tbh im not really seeing a huge difference between ahead ink & smp ireland

    https://www.instagram.com/p/CQ8I9VZqj2m/  thats a flawless result

this looks very good too https://www.instagram.com/p/CUKYa7VqxHP/

i do think the ahead ink https://www.instagram.com/p/CGkPWpJp28p/ density is better but its very very dark ink

I’m going to be honest man, their work looks pretty bad. Both the shaved head look and their density stuff looks pretty awful. Most of the “after” pictures have very unnatural looking hairlines, and the pictures are low quality which I suspect is intentional so you can’t see how bad it looks up close.

compare it to the place I went and you will see there’s a huge difference: https://instagram.com/hairline_ink?utm_medium=copy_link

i saw one in person looked very good i thought

Perhaps consider some of the other modalities to help you with retention so the area does not get any worse.  Rogaine, PRP, Laser.

What happened with Fin? Just curious.

side affects with fin. Yeah might get back with laser. Rogaine I stopped because I have heart issue

Just make sure it is SMP and not a tatoo.  Turning green or purple down the road would not be a good thing.  Are they using organic ink? Did they tell you how long it will last? If done correctly it should help.

What medical therapies are you currently doing to help you with retention?

I cant take finersteride. Yes it fades after time.

If the smp goes well I may transition to a short hairtyle with smp in the future.

They guy thats doing it had smp himself looked so realistic I had to ask was it smp to be sure
