Consultation and procedure timelines
makehairgreatagain replied to AJBlues's topic in Open Hair Loss Topics
In person consultations are ideal but virtual is efficient as well. Would also encourage you to not limit yourself to doctors close by as you may find someone you're confident in at a different part of the country or different state. Majority of top doctors are booked many months out with some even being a year to a year and a half. This is something you definitely don't want to rush into as that's how many people have ended up on this forum by going to a place who promises "quick results" and in turn it was a waste.- 1 reply

4 Months after HT / bad result?
makehairgreatagain replied to Luca456's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Can you provide pictures of when the grafts were implanted? Who was your doctor? -
It's only for the ComfortSuites. If you call them and say you're a patient of his, then they'll apply it for you.

Did you use the discount code from the office? Fortunately there's no shortage of options around

Take an Uber. It's a half mile away. Last thing you want to do after surgery is to walk there and be hot and sweaty.

Curious about what he has to say about the future of the industry. New medications, technology etc. -
You'll need to post pictures for us to see how much loss there is. Are you on medication for it currently?

You should go with a doctor you trust and will be the best fit for you. Money shouldn't be the main deciding factor as you could end up with a result you hate and then half to get repair work done. Hair transplants have been around decades here in the US and there is a lot of competition, so much in fact that you'll see the term "hair mill" used globally since it's such a big business. The strip method or FUT is extremely effective and many top doctors use it to this day. I myself have had 2 FUT procedures with excellent results. There's pros and cons to both FUT and FUE which should be evaluated with whomever you choose to go to. FUT has been around before FUE but that doesn't make it outdated. If you want to see outdated, search Juris Flap and you'll see an outdated method.

I wouldn't be in a huge rush personally. You have hair that anyone on here would envy already. Adding the amount you discussed would help of course but you're in a great situation currently to leave it be unless it really bothers you.

From the pictures you provided, I wouldn't personally do anything. It looks great as is. Are these pictures with Toppik in your hair? -
Seeking recommendations

Here's a good starting point: https://www.hairtransplantnetwork.com/Consult-a-Physician/hair-transplant-surgeons.asp?sr=HRN Do you have pictures to share with us? -
Here's my story for you to see, he also did my hairline but I didn't document it. Have you contacted his office for a consultation and to see more results? Who are you benchmarking him against? I think your expectations are skewed to the point that you won't achieve the hairline and density you had when you were 14. If you look at where the majority of us started from until at least a year after, it's a night and day difference.

Adding on to Melvin's great points, there's a mall nearby (Oakbrook Center). Most places to get you'll have to Uber/get a ride to as it's a suburb and more spread out. If you're not from the area. You can also check out restaurants like Portillos, Lou Malnatis, Giordanos etc. As Melvin mentioned, downtown Chicago isn't too far away and there's an endless amount of things to do while there.

You're "the catch". They catch your attention and then catch your money. Avoid hair mills like the plague. -
Just from looking on their website they don't have any pictures of hair transplant results. It looks like they mostly focus on plastic surgery. Check out this list of approved doctors here on the forum: https://www.hairlosslearningcenter.org/hair-restoration-physicians/find-hair-restoration-doctor.asp
