  1. HTinitiate, how many was there?, if its just a couple it won't make a difference to the end result. It can happen, in the imed post op stage and you did the right thing by not trying to put anything back in place. I think the risk of dislodging grafts is greatest when putting on and removing the cap the first few times.
  2. That is funny, check out the guy at 5:57, surely he's in danger of hair overdosing ( and yes I'm ashamed to say I watched the whole thing)
  3. Bananas, I noticed the very same as you, in that the 1 hairs in the hair line were first to go, within the second week with little evidence that they were there at all after a while, I know one other poster who said the same, but I'd still be interested in hearing opinions from others.
  4. I agree, stay away from them until required, what risk building a tolerance to them so early.
  5. http://www.acharrow.org.uk/Hat_Day_2.htm Tell them you are doing it for some charity event similar to above, you might even make a pile of money from them in the process
  6. Theres many on this forum that will say the same thing, but it looks a strightforward fix in the right hands, in that it may be possible just to fill in around them. The 2 procedures combined could give you a good overall result, but its a pain to have to go through it again so sooon.
  7. While this is nothing more than observational, I thought I'd share anyway. I had HT procedure with Dr Feller on the 27th June in the front 3rd area. A week or two before the procedure I noticed a fair bit of shedding in the crown, if I pulled at the crown area around 6 to 10 hairs would come out easliy everytime. I mentioned this to Dr Feller on my follow up procedure for PRP a week later and he agreed that it could be down to the fact that I just started Fin and Minox on the crown area 3 months earlier, but it would be interesting to see would PRP halt this? Anyway I put it of of my mind for the last 2 weeks, but in the last few days I have tested the area again and so far so good, it has stopped. Thats just my observation, I can't say for definite that PRP helped or it was just a very quick Fin/ minox shed, in fact I'm wary of mentioning it this early in case its just a temporary halt to the shedding, but I can say for definite right now, that what I was experiencing 3 to 4 weeks ago has stopped. Also note, I am not the patient that you are refering to above.
  8. Myself and another at least one other poster here passed through JFK recently without being asked to remove caps, but I'm sure it depends on the person on the day. Its no big deal anyway, but to make it run smoother for yourself, make sure your cap is metal free so if you have to remove it, you can just carry it through, also I'm sure it helps if the cap is not pulled down obscuring your face as you pass through all sections of the airport and again on arrival at your destination.
  9. Also for members in Ireland, I emailed Dr Collins at the Blackrock Clinic, IMO the only clinic I'd feel comfortable with in Ireland and his response was that he didn't plan on makng the procedure available until there was more results data available, but he planned on dicussing with colleagues at the upcoming ISHRS conference. Otherwise I think theres a real danger that sub stanadard clinics will see this as a money making opportunity and offer unregulated procedures at rip off prices.
  10. I believe Dr Feller is looking to arrange this through a UK Dr, maybe Spex can confirm?
  11. After a week or so when the shedding starts and the scabs start to fall off, should you be still able to see a mark where the grafts were placed. For some anyway I can't see any trace once they go, is this normal?

  13. Dr Charles, do you reckon that these follicles develop this lock over time ( if I may borrow your analogy ) Or is it always present in the follicle ,through genetic makeup, but that some follicles are harder to breakdown than others, hence the gradual progression of hair loss across the head I guess I'm asking , what causes one follicle that has the DHT receptor to function well for a number of years but then deteriorate?
  14. Trunks, Just in case your not aware of it, if you get your hands on proscar/finestride its 5mg so you can divide into quaters and take four days with one days break, hence the cheaper price over propecia which is 1mg. Also at a young age it might be worth talking to your Dr about beofre starting. Fookinhair, I had PRP with Dr Feller today, if I do see any improvments, I'll be posting them up.
  15. One of my concerns I had was that, after about a month of doing scalp excersises while sitting watching the tv, they sort of became second nature to me. Since the op I have had a slight concern that I might at some stage start doing them again while relaxing and not thinking
  16. Hairisthere, I would say be careful which bench pressing, where your resting you're head on the bench, any slight movement of the body up or down the bench could put a force on the back of the head and incline defitely no. Dumbells for biceps, I wouldn't see a problem with as theres no direct force on the back of the head, but I'd still restrict it to low weights for the first couple of weeks that your getting back into it
  17. Good luck Sunnyd, nice write up too, scar looking great for 12 days, allows you to pull off the DeNiro Taxi driver look
  18. DDD03, Glad you got back ok, It always a relief to get home afterwards. As you may know from past the immediate soreness in stapled area settles down a bit over the next week so you shouldn't have a problem, nothing a beer or two before hand can't fix. Will be looking out for your updates. Had you any issues going through JFK? Thanks Hair Care, will try to keep things up to date through weblog
  19. Gold Dust, it sounds like she was using an outdated procedure. Even so you can get fixed up provided you choose one of the docs recommended here for your next procedure and even then don't rush into it until you see the results of this one. Repairs can mean removing and redistributing larger grafts or else working around them with new grafts to give a good overall result. Can you post a picture to give us a better idea? But it is advisable not to return to your previous doc, based on your story no matter what they offer or promise you.
  20. Just an update from my procedure with Dr F last week. As mentioned previous, the 2000 grafts( max available for the strip on the day due to old scarring) were weighted a bit more to the right side, due to already greater density on the left from previous grafts/ native hair. We had decided that this was the best plan to achieve the goals of fixing the hairline, adding a bit of density and in addition removing some of the old scarring. Job done. However today, I called by the clinic and asked the Doc about the possibility of a small FUE session in that particular area on the left side as I'm not heading home til Saturday. Call it hair greed but I basically wanted to get a few Feller grafts in there to throw their weight around, in case the old Nobel grafts on that side decided to step out of line in the future. Not a necessity at this stage but just for peace of mind, to know that every single one of them old grafts would now be buried deep in new ones. Luckily due to an afternoon cancellation and thanks to the techs who made themselves available at short notice they were able to do the job there and then, their only requirement from me was a signed statement that I wouldn't be back tomorrow lookin for more so here is a update from todays session, 200 FUEs in the area shown, thanks again to Dr Feller and team 2200 grafts overall
  21. Riky , have you any immediate post op pics?
  22. Nice job, having seeing the results at the clinic today it looks very impressive, best of luck to you
  23. Cheers Bill, thats all I'm looking for the MSM to do, to speed up growth, as I kinda need to get back to near my pre op stage within about 6 weeks if possible.
