  1. Agree with Leeson, dutasteride blocks a greater %age of DHT, but it is advised to go on propecia first as it gives you the safety net of dut to fall back on later, if you become tolerant to propecia over time.
  2. Hi, Has anyone experienced a shed specifially from adding Nizoral to your current meds. Currently on just the 2, minoxidil and propecia. Also on a seperate issue, does taking more than the recommended 3 x 1000mg MSM have any benefit on rate of hair growth or any risk in doing so?
  3. It sure does, but you're right, is a small sacrifice at this stage
  4. Best of luck with the procedure DDD03, I might get to wish you well in person as I'm dropping by the clinic that day. Had my procedure done 3 days ago but I'm staying in Great Neck a bit longer and going to get a PRP as well
  5. The advice you'll get here is don't let travel or cost influence your decision. And your case, travelling from Ireland you'll save money and get a bit of a holiday thrown in, even taking into account, cost of procedure + travel + hotels. As for the inconvienance of travel, the only possible issue that I can think of this, is the akward 3 seconds when you remove you cap to get through the metal detector, but you're in another country , so who cares? Regarding the scarring from strip, it was never a problem for me playing sport in the rain as I keep a reasonable length at the back and my scarring was pretty bad from inadequate old procedures, but regarding how low can you go on a buzz cut after strip, I'll leave that to the other posters who have experience of this, but obviously will depend on skill of surgeon. Obviously at your age you should look at the medication (the big 3)options first as 22 is quite young to be considering HT.
  6. Cheers Bill and congratulations to yourself on hitting the 12000 mark
  7. Thanks for the replys guys and for the comparison photos Spex. Mick, I have no problem with Brian promoting his book...'He leaves no stone unturned to plug his book'...but plug is a word I never want to hear again Petchski, the procedure itself was indeed a breeze, my biggest problem was keeping awake as I know I have a tendancy to move when I'm dropping off.
  8. Hi, I have been reading this forum for while now and gaining some valuable information and advice. Here is my story and account of my procedure with Dr Feller today I'd be classified as a slow diffuse thinner, mainly in the front half. I've had 5 HTS since 1995, which I realise now is not the way to to things. - 300 micrografts by a fairly good Malaysian surgeon in Watford London 1995 - 400 " Nobel Clinic Surrey London 1999 - 1000 " Nobel Clinic Surrey 2001 - 1000 " Nobel Clinic Surrey 2004 - 1000 " Nobel Clinic Surrey 2007 Each HT has been around the hairline or front 3rd. So thats a bit of the background as to how I arrived at Dr Fellers today. Overall the procedure was flawless as far as I'm concerned. Dr Feller and his staff are a great team and once I arrived the pressure I was feeling over the last few weeks completely dissappeared. The procedure itself was painless. The injections into the donar I hardly noticed, even though they were into my scar tissue. The only ones I even noticed were into the hairline, again they would be going into previous scar tissue but even this was minimal. Definitely nothing compared to the Nobel. Overall we got 2000 FUs which the Dr predicted and was a nice number considering the previous damage and in addition the Dr removed some of the old scarring. Also I was keen to get an idea on what options are available for the future and according to Dr Feller, I have enough for one last FU ( maybe 1000) and after than I'd be a good canditate for FUE ( around 1500) So thats my procedure and below are some of the initial pics I took myself. Better ones will follow when I get the ones from Dr Feller. Thanks to Dr Feller and your excellent team and to Spex for your valuable and unbiased advice the past few months and to the forum contributors who are doing an amazing job educating people on not making the same mistakes that I and many others have made in the past.
  9. When I was getting my blood test letter , I considered telling the Dr that I needed it for a medical for a new job, but didn't in the end I and just told him the truth and it wasn't a problem, just wondering if anyone else used this approach
  10. The Blackrock clinic in Ireland is 8.50 Euro( 11.8 US $)per craft and thats after they recently dropped their prices, but suprisingly according to their website finasteride is really cheap, 100 Euro per year.
  11. Hi Dr Feller, congratulations on your first procedure. I hope the results are a great sucess. I have a question on the need for return visits. If a patient was to gain some regrowth and they were a good responder to propecia, is there a possibilty that this alone could maintain the benefit without the need for indefinite follow ups? I realise you're still at the early stages in the procedure, but in theory anyway, is there a possibility that the rewakened follicles could survive in this case as they would not be under threat from DHT second time round?
