  1. I'm still waiting for the final results of my third surgery. I'm 6.5 months post third surgery and my scalp still shows underneath the transplanted hair, so I'm still dependent on Toppik to cover my scalp. I had three surgeries with two different surgeons , the second surgeon is one of the top recommended in this forum. I had a consultation with the first surgeon after my second surgery complaining that my scalp still shows under transplanted hair and he told me that's normal for hair transplant to show scalp because a HT will never restore my teenager hair. I will wait another 5 months for the final results if there's no improvement I would feel scammed because I didn't know that I would need to use Toppik after HT.
  2. How late the crowns are behind the front scalp? Are they 6 months late behind?
  3. If the hormones treatments reduce testosterone, isn't it supposed to also reduce DHT ? I thought DHT come from testosterone
  4. I'm curious: As a transgender do you take hormones treatments and are they helpful stopping hair loss ?
  5. Actually one of the reasons I went to another surgery to add density is to get rid of Toppik because concealers look very bad when you sweat or under rain
  6. No it won't, if you comb it to th back it will add another layer on the back scalp and would look thicker
  7. There are higher priorities like HIV and Cancer so hairloss is a minor issue for labs. Can you imagine HIV virus has been there for 30 years and labs couldn't figure out a cure or even a vaccination for it
  8. I had my surgery done 6.5 months ago and I notice an unusual amount of Dandruff only in recipient area, in other areas I don't see any. Is it related to the surgery ?
  9. Do you think that adding hair tattoos to the crown helps adding greater illusion of density ? There's a hair tattoo clinic close to Hasson&Wong clinic
  10. So my understanding if someone gets castrated when he's teenager, he won't get bald and would just keep his juvenile hairline Also an older man starting to bald would stop losing hair and probably even grow new hair if he gets castrated After reading about the side effects of Finasteride Propecia, it looks the same side effects as someone who has been castrated , so does taking Finasteride/Propecia the same as being castrated ?
  11. Thanks. I cannot take pictures of the crown where Dr Wong implanted 400 grafts. Does it take longer for the crown to grow new hair ? I feel there's zero growth there but not sure if also the bald area in the crown expanded after surgery because of shock loss.
  12. Why would African Americans have a HT? They don't look bad when they shave their head and even if they don't the contrast is not obvious when they bald
  13. So you grew up in Canada but feel more Italian than Canadian, right? There's a large italian community in Toronto and Montreal , even in small towns in Ontario but haven't met any italian in BC, don't know why.
  14. See, you used to have the same hairline as this guy, what made you think that it's highly unlikely that this guy will lose his hair ? PS: I wish Justin Bieber who made fun of prince William baldness would also become bald when he get older, Karma ..
  15. It's very rare nowadays in Canada to find a full blooded native indian, most of them have mixed with whites, so a lot of them have some white genes
  16. I had a consultation with Dr.Nakatsui after my second surgery with Dr Gillespie and before my last surgery with Dr Wong . He said this a low density hair transplant. The reason why I didn't move forward with Dr.Nakatsui because he didn't give me a clear answer why this was a low density transplant? Was it because of the large area covered ?or because of some grafts didn't grow ?or because of the doctor lack of skills? or because of my hair characteristics ? Dr Wong refused to blame Dr Gillespie work and told me this was because the area to cover was large and needed more hair. The main difference between the surgery with Dr Wong and Gillespie is that Dr Wong operates on two patients in the same day, so he spends less time with patients compared to Dr Gillespie who has one patient per day.
  17. I'm not optimistic about it because in my previous couple of surgeries ,I haven't seen much improvement after month 6
  18. The pictures I have posted here ( 10 days post last surgery), might give you an idea about the area covered ( Dr Wong shaved all the recipient area before surgery) and the extent of my baldness. All of this area would look bald without 6900 grafts implanted by both doctors http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/183977-6-months-results-2900-grafts-dr-wong-not-much-growth.html#post2475679
  19. You never know , he might become a Norwood 6 when he get 40. I have seen NW6 guys who used to have this hairline in their 20's
  20. so 3 surgeries with two doctors and almost 7k grafts and still not satisfied with density. I was wondering if hair transplant is a scam , or only for for very few patients or there's an issue with the work of both doctors
  21. Not sure if another pass is technically possible . I think I have exhausted all of my donor hair : almost 7000 grafts in three surgeries( 6000 grafts in the front/mid scalp and 1000 in the crown). I don't think I have any donor hair left. In the last surgery Dr Wong tried his best to extract the maximum but couldn't pull more than 2900 grafts. He couldn't pull 4000 grafts we have previousily agreed because my scalp was already tight with two previous surgeries Do you think this what you expect for this number of grafts and for that area to cover? I posted 10 days post op pictures to give you an idea about the area covered
  22. No, after reading about side effects, I have decided not to take fin. I tried Rogaine but found it useless so I stopped using it
  23. I found pictures taken 10 days after my last surgery ( DR wong shaved the recipient area before surgery) that might give you an idea about the area covered and how I would look like without transplanted haire, Those pictures don't show the crown area where there is also a big bald spot where Dr Wong added 400 grafts and Dr Gillespie 500 grafts
  24. I don't have accurate before pictures because that was my third surgery ( I had a couple of surgeries with Dr Gillespie ) and I started as Norwood 4 before my first surgery , I lost of lot of hair between surgery 1 and 2 . But when Dr Wong examined my scalp before surgery , he told me that I would be Norwood 6 without transplanted hair, he didn't want to blame Dr Gillespie Work for lack of density and said the area to cover was large. The last couple of surgeries I haven't seen much growth after month 6, so I don't feel optimistic about future growth
