  1. I am actually surprised more don't. For me it is a must. I love Rahals work, so it is not a question of his results but I made the decision not to skimp on a surgery because I wanted the best. I wanted the best because of their skill and if they are less involved than the tech then what am I paying the premium for? It is the drs experience I want, their artistry, their eye for detail, their training...not some tech who learned the craft from god knows where as there seems to be no regulation that I can find that makes them qualified to do them...well if I wanted a tech I could go to turkey and find a tech for dirt cheap, your American or Canadian tech doesn't make them any less a tech, they are just a western tech lol...and that is nothing against techs, I see from Rahals results his tech is good at his job... but then don't charge me like the drs slaving away on my head for 10+ hrs a day, simple as that. The whole point of fues inflated price was it was more work for the dr, well it just seems like they're doing less and charging more... I wish more people would be as picky as I am as well.
  2. ugh not again lol...I haven't heard that from anybody I've spoken to yet but I am in contact with the rep so I will confirm and post back what I hear.
  3. k well that's that. Thanks for finding the info mav.. I appreciate it. Dr Rahal off the list lol
  4. I spoke to Tara but I will call them and ask for Larissa and try to get a definitive answer. If it is delegated to Mike that is disappointing.
  5. I asked the lady who is handling all the communications between me and the office and she told me differently. That extractions would be done by the dr and only implantation was not done by him. I am happy to trim my list further if your info is correct. I was just going off what I was told, no first hand experience to report myself obviously so thank you for your info!. I know very few do implantation but extractions I expected the guys who charge the top rates to do more of the work. I have heard the Belgian doctors that I am considering, Bisanga and Lupanzula both do extractions if you've heard differently there as well do share, as well as on Dr Diep.
  6. I can tell you for me, I am the same 3v according to most docs right now, I consulted with Hasson and based on his not doing extractions or implanting I passed on their clinic, that may or may not matter to you. I don't know Jones at all but that doesn't mean anything I just don't know him. I like Dr Rahal a lot and he is my leading choice at the moment with Dr Diep and 2 Belgian drs. I have not made up mind between the 4 on my list but from your list I would go Rahal personally. Rahal has a lot of fue ops under his belt.
  7. I am all for a surgeon who can provide quality results for an affordable cost. I would love to see this operation become affordable for the millions of sufferers of mpb and the more quality doctors we have that are doing it for an affordable price the more the price will come down so trust me the last thing I want to do is bash any doctor who is moving this in the right direction. Furthermore his results have looked good, I am not questioning his results tho I would like to see more and talk to people who have had some work done but that step is down the line, the basics of communication need to be addressed. You are one of the rare few who have managed to have conversations with the man. I have read on this forum that you have to keep on him with emails as he gets tons everyday which seems counterproductive as his mailbox would just keep filling up but I have emailed him a half dozen times in the last 4 months and nothing. I'm sorry but to me that is unacceptable. Dr Konior is booked till the middle of next year and he can find time to write me back personally in a day, not a rep but one of if not the busiest hair transplant doc in the US. Only comparison I have is Dr Lorenzo who is going on 5 weeks without my consult results but to his credit he has emailed me 3 times to say he will do it but he is busy and he apologises. I will take that. Labour isn't wildly expensive in Mexico he could hire somebody to be on top of this and if he wants to be a top surgeon this is part of the package that goes with that title. You need to be accessible. I would be very happy to see him remedy this. As for being on the payroll, you accused me of some sort of agenda, I was just pointing out how absurd that is given that I had said nothing while you seem be all over his posts and attacking me for sharing my experience but if you say you're just a client I'll take your word on that. That said there are drs here who are approved, pay their monthly dues, post actively and are reachable and don't have their own sections yet you're asking for Dr Nader to get his own section. No way does he deserve that or any special treatment here... I don't care how good the prices are, follow the same criteria as every other doc and get your house in order then that kind of talk could be brought up imo
  8. Are you serious?????? HIJACKING EVERY POST ABOUT THIS DOCTOR???? have I even posted ONCE before that comment about this doctor???? NOT ONCE but you're wanting him to get his own section here??? are you kidding me, and you're accusing me of some sort of bias? are you on his payroll? how many of your posts are about Dr Nader? I am just relaying my experience, and I'm not the only one to say this exact same thing on this forum and that even goes for guys who have been his patients... it's not just me. I don't need to read the youtube comments, I don't care if he has great reviews from those guys if he can't do the most basic part of communicating with a potential client. Thank you for your concern about my money but I will gladly pay more to get a dr I feel confident in, one who can take the time to speak to a potential client, or at least hire somebody to do it.
  9. I'm amazed you found 10 people that had great experiences when I cant find one person who has managed to get a single online consult back from him. Everybody sends them in and nobody hears back. I can't trust a doctor with such absolute horrible communication.
  10. bingo There are a handful of recommended surgeons from Turkey thru various forums and all of them provide pictures and offer patient experience reports, and have some sort of track record of results. If you can't find them from a forum search then I'd stop looking into them. A hair transplant is not the time to be experimenting with an unknown doctor. Hell it's never time to experiment with a surgeon. Stick to the tried and true.
  11. lol his price is just rumors, that's all I have as well is rumors i've heard but I heard 6 euro across the board no matter how many grafts. Don't know if that's true or not but I know it was painfully slow to get his online consult.
  12. Did you experience the side effects with fin or just read about them?
  13. Are you against electrolysis and laser? if you just want the hair gone and not looking to replace it then these might be cheaper options and more effective than surgery and you have 2 good surgeons telling you to go this route.
  14. I didn't book on the spot as I had to talk it over the woman first but Aug 22nd is first opening for fue and the one I'm going to take, after that it's like one opening per month till novemeber, If I wanted fut he could get me in end of July, 22nd and there are days scattered here and there over the next couple months, not a lot open but you can find a day for fut. Fue openings are scarce, they book up fast and eat up multiple days. He said my fut would be about 6 hrs while fue for the same grafts would be a 2 day surgery about 10ish hours per day. I didn't ask for the waiting list but I should, I know some docs offer a discount for that if you're able to go at a moments notice, hes 20 minutes from me so itd be easy enough to do. I was shocked by the minox too but he is not a fan at all. He said it will tighten up the skin and make you a bleeder during surgery which can lead to lesser results. He said in his experience it doesn't do a whole lot, with that and the inflammation it caused to the scalp and with the new info about it prematurely aging users, it was best avoided. I hadn't gotten great results from it so it's no big loss to me just always heard it was a must.
  15. So I went in and met Dr Hasson today. Really get a good vibe out of Dr Hasson, He also felt I could go to Norwood 5 if I continue losing but he thinks fin should halt my loss and regrow the loss in my crown so that I need not bother with the crown for at least 18 months while fin works then we'll reassess. He said I got over 10k donors and said it was a rockstar donor area. Felt doing the hairline was the way to go and thought he could get some serious density and fill in right behind the hairline as well without denting my donor supply. He said fue or fut were open and my skin laxity was excellent. Really upbeat after this consult and he all but clinched that he'll be my dr choice. He said hes very confident that we can get some great results and I'll have a full head of hair for a long time. Assuming fin doesn't turn on me at some point. He did recommend I stop minox immediately, said it will tighten skin, prematurely age me, possibly lead to worsened hair transplant result and isn't all that effective. The minox news was surprising but saves me a lifetime of minox. So thank you gil and ontop for your opinions, I will heed all your and the drs advice and go just hairline for the first surgery and let fin work its magic.
  16. Dr Bloxham is clearly the most qualified to answer this question but if you haven't already I would get in to see one of the recommended surgeons and get your hair directly in front of a doctor and let them advise you. Online consults are good in that they give you a general picture, ie a majority recommend the same range of grafts or a majority say don't do a surgery, and it's good to listen to the majority vs just the one who tells you what you want to hear but once you've gotten the majority opinions then get in front of a doc you like and let him advise a course of action.
  17. excellent work Dr Gabel! was this fue or fut? and did he start one of the meds close to the start of the procedure, I am trying to see what accounted for the crown regrowth.
  18. I look forward to seeing your results, Ive been very impressed with hdcs results. If I may ask, who does what in the surgeries, the rep said Dr Maras does extractions, hairline drawing and implantation is done by techs, was that the case? how did you feel about the the team approach?
  19. I know none of the top Belgian Drs ( Bisanga, Feriduni, Mwamba, DeVroyes) have vat included in their graft price but I believe DeVroyes pays half your vat. At least I remember reading something like that in his consult with me and I spoke to one dr who said if you get your derm to write up that you need a hair transplant they would waive the vat but I don't know how likely it is to get your derm to write you up a prescription for a transplant.
  20. As it is under development, does he just give you an option to have a few grafts done via piloscope or did you have to ask for it? could you have had more than 20 grafts done?
  21. Seems like every picture I see out of the hdc clinic is top notch work and your crown is no exception. I will keep an eye on your current transplants progress so please keep updating. This clinic has definitely caught my interest.
  22. And that is why I posted in the first place, the non biased opinion. It's hard sometimes to subtract what you want from what you need. I'm surprised I never heard of the black hole before but I googled it and it does make sense. I guess I have a lot more consults to do and a lot more opinions I need to hear before I can come to a decision. Rahals opinion does carry a lot of weight with me but he still hasn't seen me live so I think it's for the best to meet with them in person and let them see what they're working with up close before weighing in. I have to slow my rush to get this done asap and on my timeline and just do it when I have enough data and the right doctor all lined up. I have a meeting with Dr Gabel next week for an in person so that will be my next step. I am starting to come around to the idea of not going full bore on the crown and letting the meds work but I will trust the drs to decide if there is any approach that is a safe and sensible to the crown or if its just best to let it be. As much as I am hating to admit that lol
  23. It's not blunt, it's not news to me lol thats why it surprises me when the drs keep saying it's not a problem. I keep wondering what are they seeing that I am not cause it's clear to me. I am yet to get a single doc who said I would need more than 500 grafts either, when wet I feel like I got no coverage, dry different story I know that but still it seems like not much and others say don't do it not a problem its strong enough. I can understand the give meds time argument but the it's not bad enough to do right now argument, really? I will take a look at Dr Bernsteins site and look up the vids.
  24. Damn I hate you guys talking logic and making me pause on adding to the crown I'll include a few pictures of my crown all taken within a couple of days, dry and wet, the wet clearly shows plenty of loss the dry doesn't show as much. To me it seems like significant loss but the drs don't seem to agree. Also since you guys clearly know HT's well, can you guys explain a little bit about blood supply to the recipient site. Ontop you mentioned it here and Mikeey mentioned it in another thread...where he said : "HT shed after a while is 100 % due to poor blood supply !" Can a good doctor make sure this isn't an issue, or is this strictly a wait and see after the transplants done?
  25. thanks for you thoughts RR! My thinking was the same thing, very impressed so far, confused as to why the clinic isn't used more often. I did not know they documented that frequently but I did see a lot of examples of their work, that makes sense if they are doing them monthly.
