  1. In looking at the difference from month 4 to 5, it's hard to believe that things could improve that dramatically. Congrats on your result in progress
  2. Sucks though.. I used it once for like 3-6 months when I was much younger and really liked it. On that note did you feel any libido increase or strength increase while being on creatine? Yes, all of the of the above, and my muscle tone was off the charts. The stuff is fantastic but I'm off it for life sadly
  3. Swoop, I read the same study. Not only does it seem limited, but the test group is taking a serious amount of creatine at the time. I wonder if one were to forego the loading phase would creatine be effective and then would dht levels not spike? Unfortunately there isn't money to be made by anyone pursuing such a study so we'll probably never find out. All I know is it hit me pretty hard and that by stopping I have once again stabilized.
  4. I've read a lot of back and forth about creatine and hair loss. I wasn't aware of its association with hair loss until about 3 months ago. I had been off and on creatine, mostly on, over the past 3 years and have noticed a good amount of thinning at my hairline after making it into my mid 30's with a pretty good head of hair. In hindsight, the sheds would greatly increase during loading periods where creatine intake was higher than normal. Since discontinuing it 3 months ago I am only finding 10-20 hairs per day when I had been finding 3-5 times that. While the studies are limited, I'm convinced the stuff is toxic for your hair. Just wanted to pay it forward in case anyone is thinning on creatine and at a loss for a potential explanation.
  5. Looking good squatch. I really like Gabel's work
  6. Yes scam. When and if a cure it discovered you will learn about it from the front page of every newspaper, not a 1am infomercial.
  7. Blake, Where do you stand on dutasteride?

  9. I hear you. All the docs are pretty different from each other. The whole thing is pretty interesting in how subjective it is.
  10. I have met dr. Konior. I haven't met Rahal. My take away from the time I spent with him is that is that he is the Jiro Dreams of Sushi of hair. He takes too much pride in his work to dream of screwing anyone up, not that others intentionally under perform. Others have results who are quite often very good and on par with his best results but even his worst work seems to still be good. I look at it like if you go with dr k. your worst case scenario is miles better than most others. I think this is an important consideration as disappointing HTs are less rare than grandslam results. with that said, I have only seen two FUE results from him which both happened to be solid. At the very least, you won't walk out of his office after a FUE procedure over harvested or with a head full of misangled grafts and scar tissue in your recipient.
  11. Have you had fertility/libido issues from finasteride or are you looking to avoid risk?
  12. My two cents: baldness is often closely associated with depression. I've never had any sides from fin, and am now giving dutasteride a try. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.
  13. I really want to believe this result and am not the cynical sort. With that said it seems too good to be true.
  14. Really good advice. Unless you're done with HTs, do FUT until you no longer have the laxity to do FUT. since you already have the scar you probably won't get a worse scar and should be able to get a better scar in skilled hands.
  15. Others may disagree, but your doc is probably correct. Your options are fin, commit to several surgeries, or just accept being a guy who is balding and becoming more bald.
  16. The pic is a bit blurry so i could be seeing things plus I'm posting from my tiny phone screen. My only point is from the looks of the first comparison pic, there is a lot of miniaturization in your before pic while the caliber of your hair in the after looks much thicker. It's possible that you lost most if not all of your miniaturized native hair from shock during your procedure. I'm not sure how you'd be able to asses whether or not this is the case. Regardless I can understand why youre disappointed.
  17. It looks like you had a healthy amount of grafts implanted between native hair. Because you were shaved down, it's difficult to tell if you experienced shock loss. I wonder if you lost a lot of your native and are now left with what was transplanted. Is the caliber of your hair in your hairline and midscalp noticeably different than it was pre op? In your first comparison pic, it looks like it may be.

    Fin and dut

I hear you. Both are relatively new drugs though with their inherent dangers. I'm just surprised more people don't go down the Dut route as both are a calculated risk and the desperation of some on these forums for hair is pretty high yet fin seems to be the standard.
  19. Hello all. After reading up on dutasteride i am contemplating switching over. If you haven't read the comparison study i suggest you do so. I spoke to my HT doc who agreed that dut is more effective. I know that dut isnt FDA approved for hairloss and that it is more potent in theory and with it the potential sides, but I'm curious as to why the majority of us is on fin given the data. Would be curious what your experiences have been, both positive and negative.
  20. Also, it will be difficult to match your existing density with a ht should you lower your hairline. You will likely need multiple procedures unless in the very most skilled of hands.
  21. Ha, just trying to lead a horse to water if confidence is what he seeks.
  22. If I may, finasteride and hit the gym hard. Reasses in 2-3 years.
  23. If youre really worried, ask your doc if he harvested from a concentrated area (doubtful) or if you had a high transaction rate(possible but unlikely). Otherwise like busa said, it's likely temporary shock loss Have any immediate post op pics? It could help clear things up
