@ASMEDMANUALFUE thank you for your message. While I appreciate your comments, please refrain from making further posts on this stream, and instead spend your time helping those patients that have had issues with their transplants in the past. I quote from above, @Nccan, @miko, @110620, @dust78

My personal goal is to track my photos over the next year and potentially receive unbiased opinions from fellow hair transplant patients. At this juncture, I do not require opinions from the clinic or their practitioners (unless you are willing to offer advice if you can see that things are NOT going well). I have the contact information for my patient coordinator(s) and will reach out to them if I need further clinical support. Thank you.

    Hi IMM1979,

Thank you for being cooperative and making your point as well.

As a clinic we follow our patients post and we are open for every patient at all times.

Therefore, mentioned forum members above were already contacted in past.
The help was offered and it still stands out. It is not possible to have an influence on someone’s decisions except to be willing to provide the guidance any time.

I have to point out that once again you are completely right - your patient coordinator, your surgeon as well as the clinic are there for you and all the other patients  as a support and guidance at all times.

Wish you an amazing journey and we are happy yo follow up your progress.

    Regards,

    Suzana

Hey all, long time no speak. Hair still going strong. Occasionally have thoughts about temple work but remind myself of how far I’ve come and to stop being greedy. 40 now, 6 years since my first procedure and hoping that the hair will still be looking the same for my 50th.

Sad to see some negative comments regarding Asmed and the team. I can’t comment on the present but I will always be eternally grateful to Dr Koray. My confidence today is higher than it was the whole of my twenties.

A recent couple of pic to show its still all there and as thick as ever.

All the best to everyone and hope your journeys are going well.

@Melvin- Moderator Will be following your latest procedure with much anticipation. Looks like fantastic work and I’m sure you will get the result you hope for.

    Cheers

You were so lucky and smart to stay clear.., I found this forum just when the ASMED hype was high and was fooled into selecting them... I wish every day, every minute and every single second of my life that I had done a little more research... you only have one donor, and one life, if you have a failed transplant, you are setting yourself up for a lifetime of fibers, weird hairstyles, constantly worrying about your hair, feeling ugly and depressed.. it affects all facets of your life... this is why I try to help people stay clear of hair mills like ASMED, even years ago when I did my transplant there were  better and safer options than ASMED.. today it is pure madness choosing them.. insanity ..

    Dear Nccan,

We are always here for all our patients.

On your profile is written/it seems, that you were our patient but we couldn't find your thread to understand what is the exact issue and to help.

Therefore, it would be great if we can learn your name and date of the procedure so we can learn exactly, how can we help you.

We need to know your full name and date of the procedure to find your patient file in order to review your details and find the best solution.

We respect/have the privacy policy and we do not expose our patients details online for everyone to see.

(We contacted you via private messages as well)

Hope to hear from you soon and please do not hesitate to contact us via private messages.

    Wish you an amazing day.

    Dear IMM1979,

Thank you for sharing the 7 weeks post op pictures. It is amazing to see how the changes happened from the first day post op until now. Everyone will have a chance to see the changes that will happen in the future as well.

As the 2 months post op is just tomorrow and you are in the shedding/changing phase at the moment it is important to take care of your hair and the skin as well. The skin is healing, hair is growing/shedding. Your skin looks healthy and no pimples at all (This is great). Of course, pimples can appear, it is normal as the hair will pop out through there. If happens please do not squeeze them, just massage while washing and the pimple should disappear and. a few days.

You can correct your hair with scissors but the pressure while using the shaving machine might be a bit harsh for a sensitive skin at the moment. Therefore, we do not recommend. The scissors are the safest instruments for correcting the hair after the hair transplant.

We will be following up on you and if there is any question at all please do not hesitate to contact your patient coordinator or anyone in ASMED Clinic (including me).

We are standing should er to shoulder with you and we are here to help you as we always do for each of our ASMED patient.

The comments/opinions happen but this will never change the reality that we stand behind each of our patient whatever happens!

Wish you All an Amazing Hair Day!

    Is it normal?

    Dear Loic73000,

Thank you for sharing your journey with all of us. Every patient has a progress on a different pace, so you too. The hair is developing until the 15th month post op. So it means that we are almost in the middle of the way.

At the moment the only option for us is to wait and nourish the scalp and hair. After the 7th month post op we expect more growth and gradually completing the coverage.

We will stay in touch and be there for you all through the process.

    Hello forum,

I finally have time for an update 🙂. Today is day 12 post-op, all seems to be going in line with what I was told to expect.

    - Big swollen face until end of day 3-4, then it quickly went back to normal. By day 5 had no swelling at all, just perhaps a bit of swollen eyes after waking up for the next day or two, which quickly disappeared after standing up.

    - Very very itchy and tingly head from day 3 to around day 6/7, to the point it was at times difficult to sleep at night. I also experienced a bit of pain in the donor area, which felt a bit hot at touch. Similar to the swelling of my face, after the discomfort peaked, it subsided very quickly. At the present moment, I experience a bit of tingly sensation on my transplanted area in particular in few spots around my bridge and crown area, and in my donor area, but nothing major.

    - The front part of my transplanted area still feels quite numb when touched.

    - Scabs started falling by day 7-8, at day 10 were basically all gone. When washing my hair, I noticed few hair on my hands coming out with the scabs. This is to be expected.

    - Started to sleep without the need for a travel pillow from day 10. This feels so good.

Overall, I try to stay positive and focused, I have stopped reading about negative experiences in this forum. I just made an exception this morning by reading @Frustrated thread, since he posted here and got my attention. And I went into panic mode. I am now going to blast some music and try not to think about it. My co-ordinator, who had a hair transplant himself, told me that the most difficult part comes after the operation, with waiting and not knowing. I did not fully believe him, I thought I was prepared to live with this uncertainty... but I am not!

On a separate note, @Frustrated in his thread about the ASMED clinic (https://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/topic/61834-asmed-3500-grafts-7-months-in/ ) says that he was put to sleep during the incision part, without being told. I just wanted to share my experience, which was different.  During my operation, together with IV fluids, I was given some drugs (I think two between Midozolam, Alfentanil and Fentanil, cannot recall which of the two though). At every stage of my surgery I was told about any drugs I was being given and why it was being given. My pulse and heart rate was monitored. The anaesthesiologist checked on me many times to see how I was doing and asked me whether I felt discomfort and needed more drugs, it was a decision left to me, it was reassuring. On Day 1 of the operation, when I had my frontal part done, I actually felt asleep when Dr Erdogan was doing my incisions. I was very tired and relaxed. On Day 2 I remained awake.

Now, time for some photos from Day 10.

Thank you for your feedback and sharing your photos.

The appearance after the scabs looks amazing. The recipient area is clean and healthy. The donor area looks great as well - It healed and the hair started growing.

    2 Year Update

More or less 2 years now since I visited Asmed in Turkey and still over the moon with the results. I’ve taken 2 sets of photos, one under my kitchen light and another by the balcony doors while it was sunny (harshest light in my flat) Lol last photo is hair a little bit wet after swimming in December! 😂

Nothing has really changed since my last few updates barring I’ve very recently changed my hair product. I’m now using a moulding clay wax which 100% helps my hair to look more dense. My previous wax from the barber shop, had a slight wet effect which made the initial hairline slightly less dense but on the plus side felt bullet proof in the wind!

When I go for a second pass later on in life I will look to add more density to my left temple (highlighted yellow) My right temple has always been stronger from very early on. But overall it doesn’t bother me really mainly where I get a skinfade on the back and sides.

    Cheers Guys

  12. Dear Jimmy58,

Thank you for sharing your journey with us.

The 6th month is just almost to the half of the way but there are still so many months to go and with every month in front of you changes and improvement will happen.

The length of the hair is great and we do encourage our patients to use a bit longer hair after the hair transplant to let the skin, hair get some breath and time to recover. Even if you do not see the recover with your bare eye under, there are many changes under the surface as well.

Try to use the scissors for correcting the length, please don't buzz your hair and cut very short at the moment.

Wish you many beautiful months in forward and waiting for new updates.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi all,

Sorry it's been such a long time since I've been active on here but in all honesty I rarely think about hair loss nowadays. There have been times, I've considered having some temple work done and did consult with Dr Bisanga about utilising chest hair to do this but I think I'm just being greedy. Weirdly enough the whole transplant experience is a little addictive as well and I kind of do miss the process.

It's been two years since my second procedure and my hair is as strong as ever. Thought I would share a couple of photos of my hair today and for context my inital photos that I shared with Asmed prior to having any work done. Can't even remember looking like that. Amazing job they did and I am eternally grateful to Dr Koray and the team.  Other than that, I hope everyone is well and keeping safe. Merry Christmas!

    Hello everyone

hope you are all having a nice Xmas eve

At 3 months post 2nd procedure , I decided to cut around my head with my beard trimmer as I basically had my hair the same length all around. I had not cut my hair at all since I last went to Asmed.

i was a bit worried that my donor would look bad. I have a colleague at work who went to Georgia for a hair transplant and after 2 ops at around 7k grafts his donor looked see through. In fact, his hair on top looked denser than the back of His head!

    CHECK MY DONOR OUT !

i think that with a little gel, my hair looks brilliant. I think that this is 90% my first op and 10% second op that didn’t shed, I can definitely see and feel the difference , particularly on the right side (my right) , my left was always the bit I was not 100% happy with and this can be seen even now. I am hoping this fills in.

I am hoping the results from the second op will now start to show . I received a lot of grafts in the hairline, despite me mentioning I was happy with the hairline. I hope these begin to show soon .

    Hi Kraistoff,

    Thank you for your photos.

The Donor area looks amazing and it reflects the technique used here in Asmed Clinic.

This is amazing opportunity to inform you about the technique we believe in and use for many years.

DES FUE Technique - The technique used in our surgeries is called the DES Method (Dilek-Erdogan Sequential Extraction), created by Dr Koray Erdogan and the head of the medical team, Dilek Çakir.

The extraction of the grafts is performed exclusively by using a tool called the "manual punch" that is to date, the most effective way to preserve the donor area of the patient and maximize the number of grafts that can be removed. At the same time, the manual punch ensures the highest quality of extracted grafts with minimal scarring and homogeneous extraction so after healing period is over the donor area looks untouched and healthy.

Wish you all Merry Christmas and Happy Upcoming Holidays!!!

    Sincerely,

    Suzana Kubinek - Patient Coordinator

Thank you for sharing your results and journey that is still going on. The healing and growing period is not so easy and it is quite dynamical process.

The 4th month post-op is a kind of beginning and a long journey is in front of you. The hair and skin looks healthy and growth just started, amazing!

We are happy that you feel satisfied with your decision and that you know that we will be here for you whenever you need.

Alrighty my fellow brothers! My hair has shown amazing growth in months 4-5! For the first time in 6 fucking years, I have been able to walk in public without having a hat glued to my head! Man this feeling is unexplainable! I was a hat slave for so many years and I am so grateful that I took the leap to go ahead and get this procedure done. ASMED has really given me the confidence that I was lacking for so many years. I just want to thank Dr. Koray, Suzana and ASMED for changing my life. Asmed gets a lot of criticism but I have nothing but amazing things to say about them. Please let me know if any of you have questions. I am here to help :)

P.S I do have a little rogaine foam in the pics that is why my hair looks a little white.

I am at the end of my 11th week post second surgery now and i am glad I didn’t experience much if any shock loss so I didn’t have to go through the ugly duckling phase again.

First 2 photos are my current situation, final photo is showing me at 12 weeks post first transplant.

    Hi Kraistoff,

Thank you for sharing your photos and especially for sharing the 12 weeks after the first hair transplant vs the 11 weeks after the second hair transplant.

The difference is obvious. The hair that didn't shed - existing hair covered the transplanted area a bit and it looks great. Pink skin reveals healthy blood circulation and it will give us beautiful hair in the following months.

We wish you all the best and waiting for updated photos as well.😊

This looks fantastic, almost difficult to tell where your native hair is as it’s blended in really well! Best of luck with the progress this go! Keep updating! 👍🏻
