  1. FYI, my HT with Dr. Cooley was scheduled today for April 17th. Depending upon donor availability (due to prior work), aiming for 3,000. Looking forward to it!
  2. This seems to have remained unresolved. I have a similar question, as I have a testosterone result that came back very low today (which is why I found this thread). I would really like to see some of the Drs. on this forum advise and help fill in the gaps. Any way to request their participation?
  3. Amazing results, thank you for sharing them Dr. Cooley. I've been extremely impressed with your work, and the call I had with Lollie this past Friday sealed the deal. I just emailed my signed paperwork to her today to get started with you and look forward to meeting you in person soon!
  4. Thanks hairthere, will do! I sent the forms In today to Lollie, should here from her tomorrow for the deposit and find out where I'll be in the cue. Sometime in April is what I believe she last told me would be the first availability. It will be interesting to learn what Dr. Cooley recommends in more detail.
  5. For what it's worth, I have done my homework and made a decision. I'll be going with Dr. Cooley.
  6. David, thanks for posting this, very interesting. I had a great conversation about it with Lollie from Dr. Cooley's office today.
  7. I recently asked my physician about going back on Propecia; I was on it before I started seeing my current physician, and then stopped after switching to Rogaine some years ago. I have since learned I should be using a combination of both for maximum benefit. Anyhow, when I sent him an email, he responded with "Propecia and Avodart are testosterone blockers (good for hair loss and I prefer Avodart over Propecia due to the side effect profile". I searched the forums and haven't really come across anything definitively comparing the two. Would greatly appreciate the wisdom / insight from others who have compared both and made a decision one way or the other.
  8. Interesting, I like the two choices you're down to. My list is similar - Cooley, Shapiro, Konier, but I also would consider Hasson and Lindsey. Before and after pictures from Dr. Cooley? That sounds awesome - didn't know anyone did that! I see you also got them from Shapiro, did you visit both in person or was any of that virtual? I have tried emailing with Dr. Cooley's office, but Lonnie has not been getting any of my emails, and I have tried two different email accounts (one gmail, one work account). Spoke by phone to her twice yesterday, emailed 5 or 6 times, and have not heard back at all. Did you not consider Dr. Lindsey? For me, he's the closest, and Cooley is the next closest. I'll be interested to see who you choose and why!
  9. Thanks Tommy. First hair wash the next day done at the Dr office sounds like a good idea.
  10. Thanks! It's a tough decision, trying to determine between a number of them. Dr. Lindsey is the easiest drive, only 3 hours. Dr. Cooley is the next easiest, at about 5.5 hours. Everyone else I'm considering (Dr. Ron Shapiro, Dr. Hasson, Dr. Konier) is a plane trip. Both Dr. Shapiro and Dr. Hasson offer some travel reimbursement. And therein lies part of the dilemma - it's not just one trip for surgery, right? There is follow up care.
  11. Coming to the Washington DC/VA area any time soon?
  12. Thanks! Really looking forward to doing something again. What a great forum - there was nothing but word of mouth when I went before, and that was quite scarce! This is a true asset, and I'm happy I ran across it, along with all of the willing supporters.
  13. Unfortunately I don't recall now. It was a Dr. Near Rockville, MD. After learning more through the forums, I have decided to rule out Dr. Epstein, and I have sent inquiries to Dr. Hasson & Wong, as well as Dr. Ron Shapiro. Dr.s Hasson & Wong appear to have great reputations, and their pricing, if it is in US dollars, is reasonable - Hair Transplant Cost
  14. No, there wouldn't. So it has been tremendously worthwhile.
  15. I just added two photos of the hairline. http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/user_album_update.php It was done back in 1996-97 timeframe, and I believe I had 1,000 grafts done then. Back then, that was a lot.
  16. Unfortunately, I don't recall now. At the time, I was just happy to have something done!
  17. Actually, there is a lot more he posted here: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/169582-dr-cooley-2-612-grafts-hairline-5-months.html
  18. I'm considering Dr. Cooley and ran across this thread. I also ran across a posting by Dr. Cooley where he mentioned why he used Acell - perhaps it may be helpful to you? http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/172414-4-016-grafts-dr-cooley.html
  19. Raymond, Awesome results, congrats! I'm looking at options including Dr. Cooley, and approx the same number of grafts (2,600-2,800). Can you share the cost? I live in Hampton Roads, Va, so the drive is a bit over 5 hours for me. Greatly appreciate any info you can share.
  20. I'm interested in doing this 15 years later because the work I had done previously filled in a lot of areas, but I still had some. I have since lost what I had originally, Prior to the surgery I had 15 years ago, I wore a baseball cap everyday, and never wore one since. It has been extremely beneficial, and I'm glad I did it.
  21. I got your email but don't see a way to reply - I'm new to this forum. How do i reply to it?
