  1. ladies and gents, here is my 6 months post-op update. Roller-coaster, if i could choose one word to describe HT recovery, it would be roller-coaster. I'm super excited and stoked right now, but who knows in a few days, I might be down again, but then in a few weeks, love the results. The implanted hair is finally starting to grow, finally starting to get thicker and straight, and finally starting to blend really well with the native hair. Will it match the density? No, but it's hardly noticeable. I keep hearing months 6-12, the results look even better and you see bigger changes, so I'm very excited. hard to believe this was just 3 months ago!

  3. thanks for the positive comments. can't wait for my hair to grow out even more
  4. here is 5 months 3 weeks out. noticing the implanted hair is getting straighter, which is awesome. density is definitely improving and under my bathrooms harsh light using a handheld mirror, the implanted hair is starting to really blend with the native hair. while it wont completely match the native density, it should hopefully be close enough! 100% of the grafts have not come through yet, still some weaker spots but i know still have plenty of time. also one thing to keep in mind that my hairline was lowered about an inch too in the front, so it wasn't just my receding corners. here are some pics, in different lighting conditions, including an ultra close under harsh bathroom lighting.

  6. while still a little curly, i noticed that if i dry my hair with a towel instead of a blowdryer, the implanted hair characteristics are a lot closer to the native hair. i guess when i blow dry the hair, the implanted hair is the first thing the heat sees which causes it to angle backwards as it dries.
  7. 5,5 months post op, i've noticed the transplanted hair comes out at the correct angle (forward), but then it curls back instead of going straight up. this gives the impression that the transplanted hairs length is shorter than the native hair. (you can see this in my pic) While I expect late bloomer hair to obviously be shorter, I hope this is just since the hair is still fairly young and will straighten out within the next 6 months once it matures. what are you guys' thoughts on this? the hair from my donor area is straight which is why I think it's curly because of the current stage of hair growth
  8. here is a 5.5 month update. i've started growing out the hair on top, currently at a #5 guard, longest my hair has been in years! i love the hairline design, it suits my face perfectly. a few observations however, my native hair is really dense so I hope once the transplanted hair matures the next 6 months, it gets close to the density of my native hair. there are also some parts that are lagging behind, mostly my right side near my temple point and near my old hairline but looks like those hairs have not come out yet. also, i've noticed the transplanted hair comes out at the correct angle (forward), but then it curls back instead of going straight up. this gives the impression that the transplanted hairs length is shorter than the native hair. 10. well the more you put in, the more dense it will be, but i dont anticipate on doing another surgery, just no need to as i already look so much better than before the surgery. i'm pleased with the results thus far and pretty sure will see notable changes the next 7 months too.
  11. here you go. this was about 14 hrs later, don't have anything immediate. any reason or particular or just wondering?
  12. ya it kind of just grew all of a sudden, everyday i was noticing growth.
  13. Hi, haven't posted much since nobody seems to care unless the surgeon is Maral or Lorenzo , but here are some almost 5 months post-op updates since I figured there are quite a few Diep patients here. these pics were taken 4 months and 3 weeks post-op, with flash on, so it's about the worst type of lighting you can get, but overall very pleased with the results so far. There are still some areas that are lagging behind, mostly where the implanted and pre-op hairline meet, but i know with time it will all fill out. as you can see, i've gone quite a ways since before the surgery, best decision ever. Also, i have been blow drying my hair daily after i shower and combing my hair back as i would like to slick it back once it grows out, which is why the direction is going back. BEFORE

  15. looks good, i had my HT with dr. diep end of January and it's starting to grow in nicely..be patient, let me know if you have any questions! any updates?
  16. i definitely don't want to take a chance, thanks for the explanation. i'll wear a hat then.
  17. but that's the thing, sunburn where they implanted my hair? or sunburn on my forehead? can getting sunburn hinder graft growth?
  18. i'll be going to las vegas in 2 weeks, and will be going to a pool party. by then, i'll be 4 months and 2 weeks post-op..is it necessary to still wear a hat? i will put on sunblock on my face, but my head is full of hair now, so not sure if i can get sunblock on my scalp. majority of post-op redness has also subsided, and i'd prefer to show off my new hair instead of covering it with a hat. i will ask the dr. as well, but curious what you guys think.
  19. i'm at 3 months post-op, i take fish oil, mens 1-a-day, biotin, and b complex. i do not plan on using propecia or rogaine, but is there anything else that you guys recommend to take? anything that would help the hair grow thicker, etc. whether it's shampoo, pills, etc. not even sure if anything like this exists, but thought i would ask. thanks
  20. Here is my 3 month post-op pic. Hair is definitely growing, I'm really excited! I also think I need to change my threads title to 'Fue performed by Dr. Maral'. Seems he gets more action on these forums. Either way I will continue to post these as I would like to track my progress myself.
  21. coming back to my post, i think by about day 10 its safe to start sleeping normally.
  22. Unit, are you taking any other supplements of just what you listed earlier in this thread?
  23. 11 weeks post-op can notice growth just from last weeks pics!!
  24. but how long do i follow that rule of thumb for? until the redness in recipient area is gone? driving to work/back and walking from building to building doesn't give me sunburn, so i should be good in that regard.
  25. the redness is a bit weird. in certain lighting conditions, it looks worst than it is...but then sometimes there is no redness at all. do i really need to worry about sun exposure when driving in a car however? i know if i'm out in the sun at the pool or a beach, probably safe to cover my head, but when i'm driving and not in direct sunlight, do i need to cover?
