  1. The reason Dr. Doganay didn't reply is that you probably emailed the wrong email. I have seen around 3 different email addresses for him. I'll PM you the one I contact him on.
  2. Hey Hariri, I'm booked in with Hakan for middle of July and I would be extremely appreciative if you would be able to let me know what sort of post op medication/shampoo the Dr. gives out after. Good luck with it all mate .
  3. Tempted to get on this. I refuse to take Fin so this seems like a great substitute. Have you had any problems in terms of shedding?
  4. I've having surgery my second day there, then spending another 2 weeks out there. Can't wait .
  5. Hello! Looks great so far. Very neat too. I see that you're on Propecia, were you advised to come off it by Dr Doganay? He advised another board member to come off of it before the surgery and I was just wondering if he said the same. I'm booked in for July. Did you arrange through Ahmet?
  6. There you go. Hi everyone I'm day 21 today after 1500 FUE and want to share some of my exp with people who are just after op or having one soon. After your op relax and get a good sleep in a upright position it helps with the swelling and grafts touching your pillow. Next day the surgery should give you a good wash. Massage the forehead from day 1 even if you don't have swelling yet as it usually comes in day 2/3 its normal so don't worry. The surgery should also give you a hydrating spray, shampoo and conditioner, make sure you spray the grafts every half hour to hour its helps the healing, keeps the wounds clean and to loosen the scabs. Day 2 Get a small amount of your shampoo in a clean glass or cup and mix with luke warm water in front of a mirror is good as it helps you see what you doing, gently pour over and leave for a minute or two and then rinse with the cup with luke warm water again until all the shampoo is gone. The donor area might be a wee bit sensitive so wash gently with same method in a cup but massage with fingers the donor area not the new grafts( do not touch the grafts ) I washed once per day and scabs where gone by day 10/12 and I didn't want to dry my other hair to much with over shampooing let it air dry don't use a towel. Stop looking and take it easy watch DVD's, read books or use the internet to take your mind off the op . Bend at the knees if you have to pick anything up or even better get someone to do it for you if your lucky . Day 3-7 I done everything the same with washing the donor area and grafts using cup method, the swelling peaks on day 3/4 and lasted for me to day 7 your head feels a bit numb but it will get better. Do not exercise and take it easy for first 10 days as you don't want to risk losing grafts . Day 8/9/10 I used some conditioner on grafts very gently for a few minutes don't use a lot, with a finger gently massage and then rinse with cup method and shampoo in same cup method all rinsing with cup rather than shower. Day 11 I went under shower head for first time as surgery and surgical evidence show follicle cannot fall out from day 10. I was nervous , i had it on gentlest setting and and luke warm water ...it really helped and felt amazing to be under a shower again...you'll be fine!!!! I was nervous and anxious but after day 10 the follicle cannot fall out and this day you feel like a huge burden has been removed as you know the follicle is there to stay hooray. The new grafts I have are mostly still there a few have shed 100/200 some might lose more or less its different with everyone, with most people all the grafts should shed by week 6 and your new hair will grow, its slightly red on top and its almost unnoticeable at back as hair was shaven to zero for op its between a one and 2 now and i have some small red dots in donor area but almost gone and for only 3 weeks out its normal you will notice a big difference between week 2 and 3 with the healing in a few more weeks you wont know you will have had surgery and will have a 3 at back . Now its my waiting game if you have any questions I will try to help you with but good luck everyone and hope I help with my experience...happy growing.
  7. I will be having my procedure done with Dr. Doganay in July and I will be documenting it all on this forum .
  8. 1. I don't know much about any of these, but from what I do know is that Farjo is considered "good" but way overpriced. 2. I would only advise it if you find a doctor out there that you like. I'm 23 and I'm planning on going to Turkey with my gf in July. 3. That's up to you. Doctors prefer it shaved down and it can help them to find areas of miniaturizing hair. 4. The side effects can be permanent shock lose, but this is down to whether transplanted hair is planted near hair that is already considered "dying" and that the shock near it causes it to fall out. 5. Average cost varies. I'm paying 4000Euros for 2000, but I have been quoted up to 11,000 Euros for the same amount of grafts. I assume you're planning on FUE? 6. Only you can answer that. At the end of the day, if it bothers you that much then I say yes. Most people on here will tell you to go on Fin for a year then see how you feel. Where as I don't want to be on meds and I am just going for it, I also know that I am probably going to need another procedure later on in my life. 7. This also varies. Most consultations can be done online, it is down to when they have free time. It's worth sending out photos to some doctors now if you have 4 months free time coming up. Hope this helped.
  9. Really good Q&A. Just one thing though, does this mean that he has had a price change?
  10. That's excellent! can't wait for the update and equally can't wait for my procedure with him now!
  11. Do yourself a favour and travel. You can get 1,300 grafts in Turkey or Belgium for cheaper than 6 grand. That's with hotel, flights and spending money included. Not to mention a much better job.
  12. Hello! 22 is considered to be *too young* but that really is up to you. Your best bet is to get on Fin and see how it looks in a years time, although I would read into the side effects before this, though.
  13. Seems like a very good doctor, the only thing I questions is why he quotes so many people 1,500 grafts?
  14. I am scared of that, but then I think about how much I hate my current hairline and how getting that area filled in now will buy me time to save up and pay for a smaller amount next. I think of it like this - I want to live my life right now, and I currently can't, so this will buy me say 5 more years. Yea I'd say you are a Norwood 2.
  15. Hello! Like you, I refuse to take Propecia. I have a hairline very much like yours, and just like you, my dad has the same hairline. My dad is 48 now and he is still a norwood 2 so this led me to believe that mine will also not progress. The only difference is that I'm 23 (24 by the time I have my HT) and I see no reason in you investing in a HT if you don't mind spending money later on in life to fix it up again. Also, I was quote 2000 for the same style hairline as you. I'm not saying go for it as there are many things to consider before a HT, but I've got to the stage where I just want to live my life and not constantly wear a hat, or be aware of the wind blowing my hair and exposing my hairline. I'm sure you have similar feelings.
  16. Hello, were you advised to take fin? I am not on it at the moment and I plan to not be taking it after too.
  17. I'm 23 (nearly 24) I have been losing hair on my hair line since I was 17, and I am booked in to have a HT. Reasons for this is that my Dad has the same hairline as me and no loss anywhere else. I'm not on propecia as I believe my hair has stabilised (based on my Dad's head). I'm not saying it's a good idea to do what I'm doing, but if you really desperately want it sorted (like I do) and you feel that your hair loss has stabilised, then go for it. Although, it is normally preferred to do the year fin test.
  18. I planned on doing the same. Would you say an adjustable cap would be okay to wear from the day after the procedure as I am also in Turkey for 2 weeks after, and I'll want to hide it from the sun.
  19. Think positive mannnn! You know you're in good hands and in 3-6 months time you'll be feeling so good and confident with how everything is going. Try to thank positive mate .
  20. Can I ask, was the permanent shockloss due to not taking meds or the bad doctor? I only ask as I have never taken meds, nor do I plan to after my surgery this July.
