  1. Hi KO Thank you for the question relating to hair line and buzz cut. The previous photos taken at 5 months (shown again below) are even shorter than those presented at 6 months as the hair was at 2.5mm, so had a true "buzz look" if you like, and I and others met the patient also in person and took them and they show the hair line had indeed come in well and this can be the faster to come in, but also even at 2.5mm at month 5 there was no real major disparity in the rest of the surgery where we placed and looked very good even at that early stage and as short as it was literally every single placement is there to be seen and of course we expect more of a gradual filling in all over in time as still very early but there was no "wall effect" when shorter even at the early stage of 5 months. Here a month of so later the photos are with significantly longer hair (not buzzed as such) and a more wild look all over, even in the non-transplanted area as the hair splays and apologies for the alliteration but coarseness, curl and clumping are also a part of it so there are hairs bunching together also that doesn't happen when shorter and buzzed so creates more gaps at it does so and the length of the hair, especially as the transplant is still developing will have impact. At 6 or so months more growth will come still and even out as expected throughout but I don't think buzzing will be a problem for him now and even less longterm once the transplant has fully grown and matured. I know the patient is having good comments from colleagues and others who know nothing about his surgery so there is nothing obvious in person to point out he has even had a transplant and such was the case at 5 months when I met and things will only improve as more even growth comes in and the hair cycles and settles more and we have a good few patients who wear a buzz cut after surgery (self included) and there is no wall effect as such.
  2. Coming in very well month by month. Thank you for sharing.
  3. Hi Damers At day 8 we would encourage the patient to be massaging with fingertip pressure and circular motion the recipient area under a shower and gently break scabbing/crusts up in this manner but no picking. Best to ask your clinic directly as different approaches are there but this usually will make a difference in a few days of doing so. All the best.
  4. Thank you for the comments. Additional information:- Age: 36 Hair type: Medium Medication: Finasteride Breakdown: 1s: 817 2s: 1146 3s: 746 4s: 35 Total: 2744 FUs
  5. Hi Daspiv I take only this supplement. My age (mid 40s) and the loss I had means that I am comfortable taking only supplements now but for younger and guys with loss to come then medication per se could be the way ahead. I saw some signs of new hairs in a few months under transplanted hair line and had the same on Saw Palmetto in my early days on that. I am probably a fast responder and do respond well to herbs. A baldybee the powder is nettle "root" powder and inexpensive also and a bag 2kg will last a long time.

Goal was to redefine his hair line and reduce the temple angles whilst addressing the thinning in the centre with his native hair. 7. Hi Mickey Sorry I missed the question on this thread. Be happy to answer. This case is a Strip per se but for FUE we use manual punches as you know and 0.75mm to 0.8mm. The abridged answer is manual is what Dr.Bisanga is happy with and he has more control and feeling when punching the grafts manually and has also experimented with other types over the years and this is certainly what suits him but also what he feels is best for our clinic and when training doctors he also will train them with manual punches and they keep to them once they are fully able to do FUE. The numbers may be slower per day and the doctor's hands will develop strength for this as it is the doctor's energy if you like performing the punching without any motorised assistance so some will cramp up on manual punching but Dr.Bisanga has been doing it for years so has that development there and newer doctors will also get used to is but start with small numbers. Dr.Bisanga can also feel if he has usually transected a graft with this method, it gives hightened sensitivity also for him when punching that a motorised device probably would not. There is a much longer answer and possibly for another thread but hope this gives some idea.
  8. Really coming along month by month and you are enjoying it also from the photos. Look forward to more updates and have seen you come a long way so far. Congratulations.
  9. A well documented FUE case from Dr.Bisanga with up to 12 months progression and indeed many thanks for the patient in providing such detail and consistency. The pictures we have are from his initial consultation and then pre-op on the day, 1st and 2nd days of his procedure then post op healing and then 3,4,6,7 and 12 Months post op. The idea was to rebuild his hair line and increase density within the frontal area with a natural looking coverage, also to preserve grafts for the future. I will confirm age and medication information also. (Post Op pics taken by the patient) Graft breakdowns:- 1 Hair: 870 2 Hair: 1293 3 Hair: 457 Design photos from initial consultation. 10. Thanks for uploading these and I have to say it looked pristine in the flesh and for 5 months a lot of growth came in already and will only get better.
  11. Thank you for updating the case grigriman, I will send over the photos from the consultation the weekend asap to you.
  12. Hi Tony Looking good and redness is dissipating also. Tightness is normal, you've had approx 49cm2 of tissue removed so will feel that way while the scalp relaxes and gains laxity again and these adjustments take time also so totally normal in the first few months. Expect growth really from 3 to 4 months onwards, anything sooner is a really a bonus. The itchy feeling is also a sign of healing and you will exfoliate skin and keep in both areas and keeping it moisturised with help also. Scar redness is normal as the internal sutures are dissolved so all part of the process so far. All the best and let is know if you need anything.
  13. Patient with fine hair had multiple previous hair transplant Strip surgery resulting in sparse growth and scaring in the donor. Donor density average was 60 and tight scalp also so FUE was recommended. There were scars also in the recipient areas from other surgery performed non hair related. The aim of this surgery was to lower and re-define the hair line. 14. No problem Tony. Post surgery is rarely easy so I totally understand. Here if needed.
  15. Hi Nikko The weekend does play a part and also be sure to check the spam folder as I find a lot of my replies go there so the patient doesn't see it so hang in there and if no reply in a few days then give another email or a call but am sure you will get a reply. Often Monday morning there are a backlog of emails to address so be patient and sure a reply will come. All the best.
  16. Hi Tony I did comment but easily missed so will re-paste it here. Growth at 6 weeks would not be the norm to be honest so not a concern at this stage and shock loss near the treated areas also is common as the injections and swelling is in and around the treated area. Addition:- Shockloss and especially if not on medication is very possible, usually comes back in 3 months onwards and applying minoxidil may help speed this up. The foam won't work in your heat that well so liquid is better but if used need to also check redness. You may wish to look into medication to stabilise the loss in general and your person doctor should be able to give advice as to suitability of FDA approved medication for you looking at medical history etc and other issues and if worth taking or even look at natural DHT blockers and Carmen can send you also some information on that if you'd like.
  17. Hi Nikko You don't know as such and the extraction amount could be a little more than transplanted assuming a small percentage of transected grafts but most clinics will give a comprehensive breakdown post surgery of graft numbers and breakdown of hairs per graft also. Essentially it is trust with the clinic you choose that the readings are accurate and this is a very important ingredient in the choosing. You are trusting them with your head so you need to trust them in their counting of grafts also and being ethical and honest. The surface area treated or the scar length and width taken or the FUE extractions should also give a good indication of things although at times the FU may be further split or even grouped together depending on the surgery being done and numbers needed of certain groups so there could also be variations in this on repair work or hair line work etc.
  18. Hi Tony Thanks for posting the case. Redness is part of the package as the skin is soaked in a lot of blood from the recipient site cutting and will fade in time. I personally found LLLT worked well to reduce mine post op (Low level laser therapy) in the form of a laser comb but not an essential as such but did work for me on my last surgery. Aloe vera applications and some use witch hazel extract also topically. Avoid sun and artificial heat that can exacerbate it also and the skin is in its healing stages also and healthy eating speed up healing for me and your advisor can send some more information to you also. Lighter skinned patients suffer more than the darker skinned but it will also pass naturally and usually looks worse under flourescent lighting. Growth at 6 weeks would not be the norm to be honest so not a concern at this stage and shock loss near the treated areas also is common as the injections and swelling is in and around the treated area. All the best for the healing and growth and please let your advisor know anything you need specifically and am sure they would be happy to answer for you.
  19. Thank you for the comments. I will see what photos we have of the crown also and update if there are any in the archive.
  20. Here we have a Strip case from Dr. Bisanga, 4280 grafts to redesign his new hair line and temples then move back through the frontal area to increase the density within the areas miniaturised and then a smaller coverage over his crown. The split was about 3500 in the frontal area and around 800 in the crown. Hairs to Grafts: 1's 631 2's 1736 3's 1475 4's 438 10,280 hairs average of 2.40 hairs per unit and helped with this result. Patient has coarse hair. Pictures & Video (Wet & Dry Hair) PRE OP (WET) POST OP PLACEMENT 12 MONTHS POST OP COMPARISONS (ALL WET) & AFTER DRY
  21. Certainly coming in well for 20 weeks so very encouraging so far and looking forward to seeing you end of the month with the doc and we can assess in person. Thanks for updating.
  22. Hi Robrob A Strip of 3500 for us is not a massive Strip in terms of numbers, in fact we do that or bigger several times a month and have done 5.5k plus Strips in a day which is on par with the biggest performed in Europe and not to mention combination surgeries to get higher graft amounts when we utilise FUE also. Here is a Strip 4393 Case:- http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/170394-dr-bisanga-bhr-clinic-4393-strip-0-19-months.html 3020 case :- http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/162900-3020-fut-dr-bisanga.html 4297 Strip plus 2270 FUE:- http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/169459-dr-bisanga-bhr-clinic-4-297-fut-2270-hybrid-strip-fue.html Dr.Bisanga was performing Strip before FUE so although more known for FUE we do as said large Strip sessions monthly and probably 30 percent of our work is Strip currently. You've had one surgery so are not a virgin case so different factors also come into play in terms of approach and what can be harvested but hope you can get enough to get to where you wish to get. Best for your research wherever it takes you and no doubt any of the aforementioned would be more than capable of giving a very good result.
  23. Crown design and the spiral really can eat up the grafts also and it is called rightly so the "black hole" and most surgeons will not place at high density there due to the amount of grafts it could need and the danger of "rear loading" them, so often the plan is to give covering but not going too dense and especially if loss is possible in other areas. This area is notoriously slow to come in and as said second surgeries also can be slower also. Hair calibre and groups also make a difference and you have fine hair also with possibly lower groupings. Your doctor will probably be able to confirm the calibre and groups you had also as it does make a part of the overall equation. All the best for your ongoing development there.
  24. Technique: FUE Graft Total:- 2119 0-7 Months Post Op Hair Count: 1 Hair 476 2 Hair 821 3 Hair 762 4 Hair 60 (2.19 hair to graft ratio) The goal in this case was to rebuild a conservative hair line and place into the frontal third whilst preserving the patient's donor area in case of future hair loss and the fact he only has an average density in his donor. To his advantage his hair characteristics help with this conservative approach, for example his hair to skin colour is of lower contrast. Dr.B placed less than 2200 FUE in an area that many times will need closer to 3000 grafts. We do not spread so much as usual but in this case did and the hair to graft ratio was also good. Pictures are pre-op, placement, 7 months post op with comparison of before, all with no flash. This is not the final result but gives a good indication of growth obtained at this stage.
