  1. Do you have any before and after pics? 1100 grafts /3200 hairs is 2.9 hairs per graft which is a phenomenal ratio!! Who was your doctor? Id seriously doubt its shock loss 9 months after your op!
  2. I agree, I had a similar experience from my first HT, months 1-3 were tough even though i had early growth, i started to doubt things from month 4-6, thinking it was thin under certain lighting etc. Then it started to mature, I feel my hair has continued to mature up until now where im at 14 months post HT number 1. You really need to go into HTs mentally strong and have a tonne of patience, It sure is a long long road! Im almost 2 months out from a crown procedure and mentally ive convinced myself that this is gonna take up to 18 months to grow and fully mature! Look forward to seeing your 6 month update, you have kicked some serious norwood 6 butt, really happy for you
  3. The links to both my procedures are in my signature, I started noticing shedding after both surgeries at around 3-4 weeks, im in the middle of the ugly duckling stage now coming on to 2 months. Once they shed you will look exactly like you did pre op, you might have a little bit of redness lingering but it goes away in time. Its tough going for the first 3 months!
  4. Interesting thread mate, having had 2 futs myself i may turn my attention to fue in the future to fill in any weak areas and maybe my scar aswell, I hear you with the fut post op recovery, its no walk in the park but im over the worst of it now. You have chosen a great fue doc, work looks fab, best of luck with your future growth!
  5. Cheers pal, work looks excellent, very clean indeed, best of luck over the next 12 months or so, patience is the key now, im almost 2 months out myself, time seems to be going a lot slower than my last op, seems to be a hundred weeks in January lol
  6. Looks great, have you any idea how many grafts were placed in the crown region?
  7. The experiences from guys of all ages on this forum and others say otherwise. I prefer to hear what ordinary joes like myself have experienced on the drug rather than what comes out from a large money making pharma
  8. Heading for an absolute belter matt, congrats, dr koniors results from patients on here are the best ive seen, the immediate post op pics from everyone look amaazing and you just know the final results will be superb!
  9. I experienced libido and erection problems from this drug, I stupidly persisted with taking it thinking the sides would go away and also for fear of losing more hair! it took me many months to get back to normal again. It seems to be a drug thats very hit and miss
  10. I was in a similar situation as you, I was a norwood 5/6. I came to the conclusion that strip surgery would be more advantageous for my particular situation. When i met my doctor he agreed with my plan which was: 1. Get the maximum amount of grafts i could get for HT number 1 by way of strip method 2. Do another strip 12 months later 3. Have the option of doing FUE further down the line for touch ups I felt this plan would maximise the number of grafts i would have available to cover my balding which was extensive. I have now had 6862 grafts implanted and have a conservative 2000 FUE still available for future work if needed. I wouldnt have got those numbers if i went Fue first or second. Your doctor will be best to advise you on what to do for your 2nd procedure. If your laxity is sufficient id do a second strip if I was you and then consider fue further down the line. You could also use some fue grafts for your scar aswell which is an area i might look at in the years to come. Good luck with your second surgery whatever method you go for.
  11. who was your doctor? The grafts were spread out over a huge area , im sorry mate but i dont think the work looks all that great, there are a lot of spaces between the hairs implanted
  12. Looks good Shane, shaved look really suits you too Should really start taking off over the next few months, fingers crossed for ya mate
  13. I started rubbing the scalp pretty hard once i hit the 1 month, hairs are still shedding now but not as many as before, another month or 2 of this ugly duckling phase to go before i hopefully see some growth emerging, growth started just after 2 months for my first procedure so hoping the same this time, although im not using propecia this time having suffered terrible sides. I take msm and biotin daily which hopefully gives the hairs a boost, they are certainly making my nails grow like crazy!
  14. Month 1 update pics, a fair amount have shed at this stage, some have stayed around doing nothing while some others seem to have started growing.
  15. Beautiful work, out of interest, how many Fue grafts would this patient have left should he require future work?
  16. I think 4000 would cover the whole lot if you had a HT now. My loss was quite similar to yours in the crown area when i was your age but it got progressively worse during the next 10 years. I think you should have a few face to face consults with some of the top docs listed here so that they can examine your donor and loss in more detail. 4000 fue is a large session and even if you can get that many grafts what happens in 10 years time if you have more crown loss, will you have maxed out your fue grafts and have to resort to strip? all hypothetical i know but you got to plan long term with these things.
  17. I would say your heading towards a norwood 5, 4000-4500 would give you a nice result but id leave the crown be if i were you and see does fin and minox improve this area, your likely to need a second op in the future and you should plan long term for this, do you know how many fue grafts you have available?
  18. My loss was similar to this guy but i needed a second op to concentrate solely on the crown, i find it unusual that the front third was transplanted, then a bit missed and then they went back to hit the crown.
  19. it doesnt matter what advice people give you, you seem to be a huge worrier if your previous threads are anything to go by, you need to man up and wait this thing out!! 12 months, 12 months!!!!!!!!!
  20. how many grafts were placed in the crown? as a norwood 5 its unusual to see the section of the midscalp left untouched and work done on the front and the crown. was there any particular reason for this strategy?
  21. i got swelling too after both my hair transplants, nothing much you can do really, sleeping at a 45 degree angle will help some as it encourages the fluids from the surgery to move down quicker and i also heard that a warm compress can actually speed up the fluids draining from your face , i just waited it out, the swelling is usually gone by day 7 but can linger a little longer for some guys.
  22. I would like to make an appointment with Inga, cheers Mick:D
  23. lol There are plenty of bald guys who have a great social life and attract lots of women!! What i meant was i just look too weird to go out post op, this is the big disadvantage with strip, the healing time just takes a lot longer
  24. good idea to start off small, i couldn't tolerate the drug and dumped it. Ive been off it for 6 months now, i havnt noticed any increase in shedding. I started off on 1 mg a day then i went to 1 mg MWF and after that 0.5mg a day but the sides persisted. I must say that even though i had the sides while on it i dont think i actually realised how badly it was effecting me till i stopped. Now 6 months after i feel like my old self again, i think it even made me depressed but i guess as a man, when you aint functioning downstairs as you should be it does get you down ( pardon the pun!!)
