  1. Hi,

I would like to congratulate you on such a professional approach to the HT result that you had and your experience with Transmed. I think that most members who have researched HT's understand that at times a patient isn't going to have a great result either due to physiology or perhaps a less than perfect operation that affects growth.

I do think that for forum members to have confidence in the clinic that they chose they also need to have confidence that they will stand behind a patient if results are less than sub par. Most of us on this forum are not wealthy businessmen who can afford to shell out ten's of thousands of dollars on a whim.

As a side point I'm currently in Bangkok, Thailand and I'm off for my 11.5 month review of my HT procedure that I had with DHT Clinic. Doctor Pathmovanich did not perform my HT but his assistant Doctor Kulakarn and staff performed the surgery.

    Kind Regards and good luck.

    Regards

  2. Hi,

You definitely have had some growth after your HT but like the other poster no more than 40 - 50%. I've seen a couple of results from Transmed that are less than stellar and I'm surprised that Doctor Kulachi is a coalition member.

Doctor Feller may be controversial at times but at least he stands behind his patients. No doctor has a 100% success rate.

Albion71 do you know what your going to do next?

    Regards

  3. Hi,

The decision is yours of course. In response to the amount of grafts that can be taken from donor area it is due entirely to your physiology i.e. scalp laxity and grafts per sqcm.

Why don't you discuss your concern with Doctor Madhu's clinic. The last thing you want is an ugly donor scar because the scalp was too tight when the donor area was closed.

    Good luck.

    Regards

  4. Hi,

I've done a search for Dr Ravindra Reddy but also can't find any information regarding his HT results. I have been on this forum for a while now and the thing that you need to be aware of is that HT's are a bit unpredictable and people seem to have varying results.

By having Doctor Madhu do your surgery you have piece of mind. The forum operators did a lot of research and from all accounts it was difficult to find a HT surgeon from India who had good consistent results.

Personally, I would pay the extra money and go with him. Doctor Madhu's clinic can do mega session surgeries and perhaps you don't have the scalp laxity or donor hair availability for a large session of 4000 - 4500? In my case I wanted over 4000 graft surgery but could only get 3700 done due to my scalp laxity.

Good luck but be careful who you decide to go with.

    Regards

  5. Hi,

I'm not sure if a HT surgeon in Australia would be interested in reviewing your progress. Are there any issues that you are concerned about at this stage regarding your progress?

I had my HT in Thailand in 2010 and had my local GP remove the sutures. I am going back to Thailand for a 12 month review but wouldn't do so if I wasn't already going there for a holiday.

Who did your surgery? Can they offer you advice and support ? I remember that early in the process I went thru a stage of having great doubt and suffered a bit of anxiety but it all worked out well.

    Good luck.

    Regards

  6. Hi,

Like the previous poster mentioned do yourself a favour and do your research. I recently saw a post from a person who had a terrible botch job done by a surgeon in India.

Why not have a look at Doctor Madhu who is recommended on the forum.

  7. Hi,

Small world I also live in Perth Western Australia and from what I know I have researched I am not aware of any really good HT surgeons in Australia. I am aware that HT surgeons in our country charge excessive rates for a procedure.

I had my HT with DHT Clinic in Bangkok and they were really professional and caring. I'm happy to give you some feedback if you wish.

    Regards

  8. Hi Vanman,

I am travelling to Bangkok with my daughter and will be there on 25 July and it looks like we are going to miss each other by a couple of days. This is my third trip to Thailand and whilst in Bangkok I will have a follow up visit with DHT Clinic for my 11.5 month results.

Do yourself a favour and strictly follow the post operative instructions recommended by Doctor Pong and don't exert yourself for 3 - 4 days. Stay in a cool environment and out of the sun and rain.

    Good luck.

    Regards

  9. Hi Albion,

I'm really sorry for you that your result was poor and this is a worse case scenario that we all go thru when we have a HT. In regard to a previous comment I made regarding a patients physiology may lead to a poor HT outcome, this is what I have read from a few other posters and clinics.

Who knows if the HT team were having a bad day when you had your HT?

    Good luck.

    Regards

    Rod

  10. Hi Vinny,

Wow I am relieved that you are going to Doctor Madhu. I've seen so many poor results from HT surgeons from India...

Are you going to have a consult prior to the surgery? If so you can discuss your hairline with the surgeon. I would suggest going for a mature hairline because you don't want to go chasing your hairline in 10 years time.

Good luck and please keep us up to date wity your results.

    Kind Regards

    Rod

  11. Hi,

You need a personal consult to determine whether a surgeon is able to take 6000 grafts from your donor area. Determining available donor grafts depends on your hair density i.e. grafts per sq centimetre and your scalp laxity. 6000 grafts would be at the top end of what you have available imo.

A further point is that not everyone obtains a great result with high yield from a hair transplant. To obtain the illusion of density you need to have the grafts packed 40 - 50 grafts per sq centimetre. A good result appears to come down to physiology of the patient and good quality work from the clinic. Check out some of the no grower posts on the discussion forum.

There are no guarantees with a HT but I wish you well.

    Kind Regards

    Rod

  12. Hi Siversurfer,

If you had read the beginning of this thread you would know that the majority of grafts were body hair and not from his donor area.

I feel a bit sorry for you (Hair Today) considering the amount of negative posts you seem to be receiving. Many young men wouldn't be happy with a HT unless it gave them 100% thickness and 20 year old hairlines. Lots of older people are happy to have a major improvement and to frame their face and give an illusion of density.

I would suggest trying to grow your hair a little longer. At this stage your HT looks like a major improvement for you.

    Kind Regards

    Rod

  13. Hi,

Your donor scar is one of the better results that I have seen on this forum considering how short you have your cut at the sides.

I may be in touch with you next year to find out more information regarding Doctor Pong. I need another HT and hoping to get one next year.

    Regards

    Rod

  14. Hi,

I think part of the reason you haven't received any response to your enquiry is because there haven't been many posts regarding HT procedures from his patients on this forum.

Occasionally, he posts a patient result but I haven't seen many online from his patients. One of our members Tom A has undergone a HT procedure last year with Doctor Madhu's clinic. Tom has experienced thinning of his donor area at the side and it appears quite see thru. You need to check out tom's blog to find out more information.

I am in need of a second surgery and I would interested in your research. I will say that Doctor Madhu is recommended on this forum and appears to care about his patients. I don't believe there are many options in India but I have heard that Doctor Rhada Rani is also doing good work but there is only one post on this forum regarding her work. Be careful having a HT procedure with an unknown doctor in India because I have read a few horror stories.

    Good luck.

    Regards

    Rod

  15. Hi,

Whatever you do don't start rubbing the scabs off at this stage. Did the doctor give you instructions post operation? It is my understanding that grafts are secure about 12 days after the operation and there after you can gently rub them.

I was quite conservative and they took about 3 - 4 weeks to come off.

    Good luck.

    Regards

  16. Hi,

Just do a search of the forum. I think there are many complaints regarding AHS.

I flew from Australia to Thailand to have my hair transplant and I suggest that you contact Doctor Madhu who is in India and is probably a short trip by plane.

There is no point spending money of procedures that more than likely give you a poor results. Hey, I'd even consider travelling from Australia to India and having a procedure done with him.

    Good luck with your decision.

    Regards

    Rod
