  1. Hi,

I'm 6 weeks post operation after having had my procedure done by DHT Clinic in Bangkok. All the grafts appear to have shed and I'm crossing my fingers that I will get some growth. The donor site seems to be healing quite well.

I had almost as many grafts as you and I was hoping for 4000 but my scalp was a little too tight and they were able to extract 3743. I was pretty bald so I was hoping for as many as I could get.

    Just waiting now...

    Regards

  2. Hi,

My first night after my HT was a little rough and I didn't sleep that well. The following night I rolled up a towel and placed it on my pillow. I slept on my back using the towel to support my next which meant I didn't place any pressure on the rear of my head.

    I hope this helps.

Btw which HT surgeon did your surgery?

  3. Hi,

I stayed at Abloom Exclusive Serviced Apartments when I had my HT at DHT Clinic (August 2010). It is only 1 rail stop from the clinic and if you want to it is within walking distance.

The rate was quite good, the breakfast whilst basic was fine. The rooms were very good and it was the best value accommodation that we had whilst in Malaysia and Thailand.

Good luck with your HT. The staff at DHT clinic are very good. They won't sit there and hold your hand but they are very experienced and professional.

I would suggest that you organise a HEB B, C and HIV test before you go for your trip. One thing that I wasn't aware of is that they won't go ahead with an operation if they discover problems. I was told that their blood test sometimes gives false positives. In my case I had my blood tests completed in Australia and took them with me to ensure that there would be no issues to add to my stress before the procedure.

Btw when I went for my consult a couple of days before the procedure my blood pressure measured 179/110. Doctor Kulakarn was really worried about this but I told her that I had forgotten my medication that day and I had been worried that I would miss my appointment because it took 1.5 hours from the airport to the hotel and then I couldn't find the clinic :(.

  4. Hi,

Pretty amazing photographs! I'm glad for you that everything is progressing well. I had my HT on 8/13/2010 and I went back to work 2 weeks later. It was a little embarrassing because I had numerous scabs that I couldn't hide.

Luckily, I had told my colleagues about my HT.

  5. Hi,

Sorry for posting a confusing response. I found the staff at DHT Clinic to be very professional and caring. I had my HT completed with them on 13 August 2010 and I am healing really well. I can barely tell that my scalp had 3743 grafts implanted and my strip is healing well.

Doctor Pong appears to have some good photographs showing his results and many good comments from all over the world but not many posts here on this forum. I decided to go with the recommendation from the site and at this stage I'm happy with my decision to go with DHT Clinic.

  6. Hi,

I had my HT surgery exactly 4 weeks ago at DHT clinic whilst on holidays in Thailand. I did consider having a hair transplant with a couple of surgeons in Thailand but in the end I chose to go with DHT Clinic.

Absolute Hair Clinic (Phuket ) charges 55 baht per graft and the surgeon has recently completed his training with Doctor Pathomvanich. I also considered Doctor Pong but after extensive research I found minimal feedback (all positive) regarding his HT outcomes.

I swapped a number of email with Oravan from DHT Clinic and she stated that to be experienced in HT procedures a doctor should have completed over 400. She also stated that it just isn't the surgeon skills that affects the outcome but the team can either make or break a HT. In the end I decided to pay a bit more and to have my HT procedure with an organisation that has so much positive feedback. Price was also a consideration for me because I had to cover a large area of balding scalp. I was able to have the procedure completed at DHT clinic and use there technicians.

If you really need to save even more money why not consider Doctor Madhu in India. He is recommended at this forum and TomA has recently had his second HT with them (first with DHT clinic). I edited my post because it was a bit confusing.

    Good luck with your decision.

    Regards
