  1. who was your doc? and what did the doc say about this?
  2. is hairloss common in your family, uncles brothers on both sides of the family? if so what degree is the hairloss?
  3. looks very natural. what will be your goal next time around?
  4. that looks great!! I think when the second fills in it will look awesome!!!
  5. Yes it is a very emotional time making decisions. I wish you the best of luck and will be following your post in the future.
  6. OneMission06 , you can do online consultations. Take really good pictures and you can email them. You will know who you should use if you talk to a few, I dont believe travel should be a factor in this decision, but it is a major convienence if it is.
  7. it has been 17 days and almost all my ht hair fell out fast, but some shedding is still happening, but this is normal. it seemed after 5-6 days I started shedding a ton.
  8. ya with in 5 days I was not wearing a hat, 8 days had a big party hatless, noone knew. My sister who is very perceptive never had a clue. I didnt have really any reddness, that I have seen others have, I think I just lucked out there, or Dr Rose and shapiro staff are that good or both, but ya Im totally healed just waiting now. I wont post any more pics untill I see growth. My main concern going in for my first ht was how long I would be down, I cant wear a hat for work. If i get another one done in a year or 2 , I wont be worried at all, now that I know what to expect.
  9. some of the doctors do office out of a few places, Dr Rose comes to minnesota, which is where I had mine done, however he is based out of tampa, maybe bernstien does the same. I must admit it was so nice to be close to the clinic, however I wouldnt use that as a bases for your decision, but if it works out, its really nice.
  10. Mudpuppy, I wont attack you. We all have our goals and finding the right DR to get us to our goals is important. I did ask Dr Rose about why dont they push things a little more, Basically he said it wasnt worth risking it. I asked Matt about this as well, he said it most cases you will be fine going aggressive, however consider, if its 5% that goes bad, for the 5% to them they feel 100%. I thought about this a lot, we all want to have hts to improve our self confidence. I have read many post of what its like when things go wrong, As I ponder the big sessions more I am becoming somewhat more conservative, if it 5% something can go wrong, a scar strething, grafts not taking, grafts in an area not taking, depleted donor and not enough for future hairloss, all the things that can possibly happen, I am inclined to be conservative and plan for the worst case senario, and hope for the best, this is a slower process, but I would rather not take risks on disfigurment and burn up donor supply. I do feel that if a patient knows going into a session it will take about 5-6 thousand grafts that they should have some say in how many they can have, and maybe go 3000-3500 and follow it up accordingly, this way you havent made any risky decisions and can cosmetically get to your goal faster, and have left over donor. Hasson and wong have had good reviews and great after pics, They just seem to have a different philosphy than shapiro, and time will tell hasson and wong will be applauded as pioneers, or we will hear the cry of unsatified patients, I dont think this will happen soon, as it will take time to see how the jumbo sessions pan out 4-5 years from now and the donor area becomes a issue. I am excited to read your up coming post and how liked your expirence with hasson and wong, Im sure you will be happy. just my 2 cents
  11. I am no expert, but have reads a ton of post. Dr bernstien in miami has had good reviews, I used Dr Rose out of tampa, he is known for his majic on scars, as well as completly natural results. I would highly recommend you consult with both.
  12. I will try to post some pics i took today, I am 13 days post op, know one would ever have a clue I had a ht.
  13. if you got photo albums and goto find button, click it, then type in troy, then search, it will pop up, when you see a picture click on it and the arrows will walk you through my pics.
  14. I have only heard good things about feller. How many grafts have you had total? and how many by Feller?
  15. Slade, I also shed most of my ht hairs pretty fast in ther game, I look like I did pre op.trachhound you can goto photo albums and see my 1 day post op. I think the anticipation and anxioty of never doing this before was the toughest hurdle. Good luck Trackhound
  16. Dr Rose was my doc for my ht. 8 days post op i was totally healed, you will have to have some faith in him, and ask him those questions. he does chime in on this forum from time to time, or email him. I have read a million post on here before deciding to go forward with a ht, and one thing rose is known for is his almost invisible donor scar. I get my stiches out tommorrow and will let you know.
  17. congrats on your HT, ive read a lot of positive post about Dr charles. I had mine done on the 1st of dec, so we will be in that waiting game togather, it is nice once you have jumped the hurdle and down hill from here. good luck
  18. GETTINHAIRSOON, ya I am starting bodybuilding on saturday, it will be over 2 weeks post op. I could feel pressure on my head when I would bend down, so I have taken it easy. Well have to track each other progress.
  19. yes, I was told my grafts were pretty much in place after 5 days. I am back to my normal routine, I am gentle when I shampoo. I healed very fast, at 8 days i was totally undetectable. The only thing I havent done yet is start weight lifting. I get my stiches out this wensday. then its the waiting game. I do feel that the major hurdle has been jumped though.
  20. trepidation , Yes I believe one should make there coarse with the future in mind, but once a person does all the research and feels comfortable its time to make a decision, And being afraid is not a fun way to live. Way to many people are extact about there ht and how it has impacted there life in a positive way. And with the compitent doctors, why wouldnt you? because your afraid? that is not a reason to not move forward in life in any catagoy, would you also never date because of fear or have kids? Fear is only a precautionary to do research, after extensive research fear should subside, and you will have anxioty, but feel confident with whta results to expect. I think it is quite possible to fear the change more than the actual proceedure, or fear the uknown. my 2 cents
  21. GETTINHAIRSOON , I had my ht done dec 1st and had a big party at my home 8 days later, noone had a clue. I was totally healed, except the stitches in the back of my head, but my hair covered it. My head is still a little numb, but that is coming back fast too.
  22. GETTINHAIRSOON, When you say you had plugs come out, what do you mean? I dont feel comfortable saying yes, as I dont know your doc, or his or her recommendations. My thanks to shapiro staff and dr .rose, I am pretty much totally healed, all I have left to do is get my stitches out next week. I am pretty much now back to my normal routine, and at 6 days I would have had no problems wearing anything on my head.
