gmama
Hello guys, Im a new addition to this site and I could use some advice. I am about to undergo hair transplant with Dr Jennifer Martinick. Im a norwood 2 going to 3 and she recommended I go for 1500 graft to rebuild the hairline. I've been searching for successful patient stories on the net but cant seem to come across any. Has anyone ever had experience with her? Please share your stories so I know how to proceed. Thanks.
Senior Member hairthere Posted December 5, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted December 5, 2008 Firstly, cancel your surgery and do more research. If you haven't spoken to and/or seen patients of hers in person then it's not wise to move forward. Secondly, there was a patient on here recently who had crown surgery with her and most of the forum members agreed that the work looked terrible and outdated. here is the link: http://hair-restoration-info.c...6060861/m/8411090843 I also think she may have been dropped from the coalition (perhaps Bill can confirm this). Senior Member latinlotus Posted December 7, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted December 7, 2008 I would second hairthere's opinion. You may do some research by typing her name in this forum and some other hair forums site, and then make your own conclusion. However, i would recommend that your stick with one of the doctors from the Coalition. They all had demonstrated consistent results over the years. ******** I am not a doctor. The opinions and comments are of my own. HT with Dr. Cooley on Nov 20, 2008 2097 grafts, 3957 hairs Proscar, 1.25 mg daily, skip the 5th day, started Nov 2007 My Hair Loss Blog - Hair Transplant with Dr. Cooley
Bill - Seemiller
Hairthere, Dr. Martinick was removed from recommendation (she was never in the Coalition) after reservations we had seeing postoperative photos posted in the link "hairthere" already referenced. The details about our reservations and her removal can be found there. In recent time, we emailed Dr. Martinick to see if she considered changing her crown technique and invited her to post recent examples of her work for reconsideration. However, at this time, she declined the invitation. It would be nice to be able to recommend a surgeon in Australia again. However, until we can see examples of recent work from upstanding surgeons in Australia, we don't feel confident recommending anyone at this time. To see a list of who we recommend, click here. To see our standards for recommendation, click here. Best wishes, Bill
gmama
Thanks for the heads up guys. I don't really have an option considering that i'm from Malaysia and Jennifer is he only surgeon closes to my region. I am particularly impressed with the work of Dr Jerry Wong and Dr Hasson but Canada is a bit too far away from my liking. I checked the list you provided and found Dr. Damkerng Pathomvanich from Thailand. Geographically, that will work for me and I am willing to go out to Bangkok for a transplant. While I go up and do my research, it would be great if you guys could post an opinion on Dr Damkerng and help out a fellow sufferer whose life has been affected tremendously by hair loss. Thanks guys.
Bill - Seemiller
gmana, I think you can tell by reading the Potential Recommendation of Dr. Pathomvanich thread that many members of this community are very excited about his dedication to ultra refined work and was approved for recommendation. In time, we'd also like to consider him for the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians. In my opinion, you are wise to consider Dr. Damkerng Pathomvanich for your hair transplant. Senior Member Leeson Posted February 24, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted February 24, 2009 Read a post that involves Charlieb. His post-op pic clearly shows stadium row seating pattern. I would run. She still claims on her site she is recommended by this site, which is a lie. You only have yourself to blame if you read these post and being informed, still go and things don't turn out for you. Best of luck. My Hair Loss Website - Dr. Hasson

Guest wanthairs
worry2bebald and Gama... look at the results of poor charlieb by doing a search. Do not use this doctor. go bald instead and shave your head if you cannot travel somewhere else.
Bill - Seemiller
worry2bald, All surgeons considered for recommendation must go through our private and public review process. See how we recommend hair transplant surgeons here. We decided to no longer recommend Dr. Martinick after some concerns we had about one of her patient's crown work that was presented on the forum. The details can be found on the thread titled Crown 1126 grafts by Charlieb. We did invite Dr. Martinick to show additional examples of her work at the time and even re-invited her to be reconsidered for recommendation if she's reconsidered her approach to crown work. However, she has not taken us up on our offer to present her work at this time. Best wishes, Bill
Senior Member ej Posted February 24, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted February 24, 2009 Dear Gmama , I wish there was a site like this one 14 years ago to warn me of all the " hair transplant butchers " out there who will tell you what you want to here and proclaim to be " experts" and provide "state of the art" results in there field of hair transplantation ! When you say you "have no choice" take a look at the repair work many Dr`s have done on this site see Dr Vogel before and after photos those patients have no choice but to get it fixed which takes a long time and lots of money ! Am sorry to `vent` at you but in all honesty if you cant travel to a reccomended doc, I would just get a No 1 and have done its not worth the risk mate . Good luck with your decision but please please stick to a reccomended doc Best wishes Ej
Senior Member ej Posted February 25, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted February 25, 2009 Hi Bill , Re My last post to clarify . It appears that Dr Vogel specialises in repair work ,his patients before and after photos are fantastic as our other photo repair results from other coalition Docs on this site . The point I was making to Gmama was to look at the "before " photos of the bad work which gmama could well end up with if he does not do his research and with the greatest respect and it is only my opinion either go with a coalition Dr or dont go at all . Dr Vogels repair work is fantastic the point I was making was get it right first time and avoid having to be a repair case . I am extremely Impressed at the repair work and results achieved by Dr Vogel, as I said earlier this site was not around 14 yrs ago when I got "plugged " I wish it had been ! Great site , Great Info , hope this clarifies . Many Thanks ej
gmama
Thank you everyone. I have since gone to Dr Damkerng early ebruary and got in 2400 grafts. I have to say the experience was very pleasant. No pain whatsoever and it was comfortable throughout. For anyone looking to go to him, i highly reccomend him based on my experience. I cannot say anything about results yet bcos thats many months to go.

Senior Member greatjob Posted October 2, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted October 2, 2013 I made the initial consultation in late September 2010, and I immediately knew that Dr. Jennifer Martinick was the right person for the procedure. Dr. Jennifer Martinick and her staff are highly knowledgeable and truly understand the patient’s needs. She sat down with me and provided me various options and explained the entire procedure as well. If you are considering HT and looking for amazing results, care, and want to feel like a person versus a number, I recommend you visit Dr. Jennifer Martinick. This is beginning to get sad. In the last couple weeks there has been tons of new posters immediately searching out Dr. Martinck threads to post glowing reviews. We're are not idiots...
