Can hair transplant restore hair on temporal & parietal region

Recommended Posts

I have lost a lot of hair on frontal, temporal & parietal region (the region above the ears, not sure if that's the correct term for it) due to traction alopecia.

I know that the region above the ear is usually considered a good donor area but in my case I want hair transplanted on this region.

Some clinics says that it can't be done.
Some says it will be difficult with 5-10% success rate.
Some says hair angle will become an issue at this area.
Some says they can do it since they are "experienced" enough.

My intent is to get more clarity from this forum so I can make an informed decision.

Sorry for the stupid question but are you a woman or a man? Are you having long hair always? Which doctors you"ve talked to?

This is definitely duable but the most important part is the temple points which have to be completely natural and with single hairs. If the density

on the temple points is high this will give some good coverage to the region above the ears too (with long hair).

@jjalay
I'm 27 years old man with long hair & have had majority of the hair loss in this region during my teenage years as I used to tie my hair & wear a turban (hence the traction alopecia)
Planning to cut my hair short, so want temple and region above the ears to be covered. Not with super high density but enough to not show bald spots when I cut my hair short.

I have talked to few clinics in Turkey namely: Esteonve, now Hair Clinic, Hair Center of Turkey, Nimclinic etc
Like I mentioned in the original post, I'm getting mixed replies about region above the ears so I'm not able to make my decision.

Brother all the clinics you are referring to are really bad hairmills of turkey, they will butcher you. AVOID THEM and start doing a proper research in this forum to find a good doctor for your case. This will cost you and if you are looking for a cheap hairtransplant in turkey you will be dissapointed or disfigured looking for a repair after that.

Temple points are really hard to do and you need a specialist for that. Some doctors to begin your research are dr. Bisanga and Lupanzula in Belgium,  Hasson and Wong in Canada, Couto in Spain, Konior in the US. Again these are just some references, you should do your research about doctors who can do temple points properly in this forum and speak with other members too.

Once again, FORGET about the clinics you have mentioned before.

Yeah, I recently came to know about hairmills as well. I'm using these clinics to do some research as its hard to get hold of real doctors to get my hair analysis.

But I was still considering turkey, provided I can get one of Dr. Pekiner, Keser, Bezir, Gur or Turan's appointment.

Are they any better than Dr. Bisanga?

You really have to dive deep into this. There are not many doctors that know how to do temple points correctly. The other doctors that you have mentioned in turkey like pekiner, Turan, Gur are great option but they are not known for doing temple points. You really have to do your research and pick one of the bests in order to make it look natural and achieve the density you want.

Other options are dr Mwamba, Lupanzula and feriduni in Belgium, you can also check Pinto and bruno fereira in Portugal. I have seen temple work from this doctors which looked good, havent seen much from pekiner or the other doctors in turkey.

Are you still wearing a turban or doing anything else that caused the traction alopecia? If so then you need to stop or else any hair transplanted there will end up falling out the same way.

Have you tried using Minoxidil? You may get some results by putting minoxidil on the area daily. It could increase the growth of some smaller hairs that are still growing, but are currently weak and thin. I would try doing that for several months.

No, I don't wear turban anymore.

I started taking oral Minoxidil and Finasteride couple of months ago. I feel that my hair aren't that weak anymore. Not sure if its cause less stress & minoxidil or just placebo effect. In any case, I'll keep consuming both medicines for a year at the very least

Hi @Nav04 just wondering if u had an update on your research? As I have the same issue (traction alopecia) I am a female and looking to get a HT

Still researching. I reached out to Eugenix as @Gatsby suggested.

They estimated that roughly 3000 grafts will be needed. I haven't finalised anything yet. Still researching a bit more as I'm quite concerned about the temples and the sides and don't want to go for HT #2 and #3.

@Nav04 someone else suggested Eugenix but travelling to India will be quite far for me to go. I have looked into Turkey or Uk, someone on my post suggested Dr Ball in Portsmouth and Dr Mani Mittal in London. My preference is turkey as it’s within my budget but don’t want to go with these so-called hair mills so want to choose the best one

@LondonGirl2024 I haven't looked into UK's doctors as they aren't in my budget. One thing I know is that I need someone who has experience dealing with Traction alopecia. Turkey hair mills are definitely not a place for such delicate work.

Eugenix in India has some experience treating Traction alopecia but I'd like to see more results before going all in with them.
