4.5 months update. A bit unsure about progression; part of me feels like growth has stalled but maybe it's an illusion due to really ugly duckling stage of some areas thickening and others not, yet. I have not cut any hair on the top since the HT. Also, I'm dealing with 2 concerns:

My retrograde alopecia above my ears seems to have worsened and it is unfortunately very apparent at this hair length. Yes, they took some grafts from that area of the head, but not many (most on the side of the head were taken from higher up). I had this retrograde alopecia pre-HT, obviously, but it looks worse than ever. When I buzz my hair shorter it's less noticeable, and I assume if I grow it longer it will be less noticeable too...but at this length it's unfortunately bad.

Also, I'm getting quite a bit of acne-type bumps on the scalp regularly; a few times every week. Not sure why as I'm very clean, wash my head twice every day and use both Dove and Ketoconazole shampoo. I'm using minoxidil, pyrilutamide, and RU58841 daily so not sure if it's one of those causing it or not.

How much more progress should I realistically expect in the next few months? I feel like I saw a lot of early growth compared to most people. Most people don't seem to notice major growth until about 4 months but mine started at 2 months and months 2-4 saw pretty significant growth for me. So, not sure how much more to expect...IMG-7203.thumb.jpg.a793f3360ee54c4e6f065710ff189d6b.jpg IMG-7211.thumb.jpg.6c842566bcbcd0a5ef660edc6a5e5ba5.jpg IMG-7207.thumb.jpg.bcfb642b5b0c659611e7702e5cfb2d1a.jpg IMG-7215.thumb.jpg.9531eb1192de73d0f3cce93c186634a5.jpg

After the HT when did you start using the Ketoconazole shampoo?

Got my first professional cut. 5 months.

Before anyone mentions the temple area: I know. Here's what happened: the first barber I went to did a bad job. She also goofed and took off the frontmost portion of my right temple with zero guard on the buzzer when I told her to start with a 1 length. Long story short, I found another barber in town who fixed it all and did a great job. He is experienced in cutting HT-guys too which is awesome. Obviously he couldn't recover the temple but in a week or two it will be reset back to normal lol.

Yup, exactly! First barber I went to just wasn't good. She didn't even have the proper equipment to do proper fades. Luckily found a nice high quality shop now. But will make sure they never touch the temples. The over aggressive shape-ups always look horrid.

Yeah, great comparison!

Did you put any fibres there? It looks like a big difference.

I don't mean the donor. The donor looks fine, and I pretty much expected that to happen. But on top was very bare and now it looks very different.

Felt my hair brush my forehead in the wind today. Good lord, it’s been a LONG time since I felt that. Literally feels like a past life! 😂

I know that you have often used a hat outside. Are you still doing that, or have you started not to - and how does that feel if you have, and if you haven't then what is your plan with when to do that?

Still do sometimes, sometimes not depending on where I’m going. Still feels strange and still have some anxiety to fully get through with that. But I hope by summer I will feel good about ditching the hat 75% of the time.

I'm wondering. What gives you (most) anxiety - the donor or the top? Or something else?

The top for sure. Especially right now because medium-length messy/fluffy hair is the best look for young men, not being at that point (yet) is still a mental shortfall. But the time will come.
