Most Consistent FUE Surgeons in the US in the last 10 years - Opinions Welcome

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I've been spending the last few months looking for the most reliable and consistent FUE surgeons in the US in the last decade who have delivered the best results, and would like your feedback. I'm a 30 year old caucasian male at a Norwood 2 - I'm only looking to fill in the temples, as they receded about 10 years ago but haven't changed since.

Since the procedure I'm looking to have performed is relatively small, I'd really prefer to stay in the states if possible. Right now, I'm in the process of (or have already) booked consultations with Dr Vories in SC, Dr Mwamba (Atlanta Office), Dr Konior in Chicago, and Dr Shapiro in MN. What are your thoughts on these surgeons, and is there anyone else you could recommend in the US? I was also looking at Dr Cooley in Charlotte but it looks like he mostly does FUT, so not sure how often he performs FUE.

I'm looking to get the best results, so I really appreciate any feedback.

I can't really tell you if they are 10 years but the two top doctors in the US in my opinion as Dr Konior and Dr Cooley. If you wanted to expand your reach to north america as a whole. Take at look at Hasson, Wong and Rahal in Canada and Nader in Mexico.

I consider Dr Konior to be the safest bet in the US.

I am biased as  a2xKonior patient. He is not only consistent but a fine person with great surgical and artistic style. He takes great care and attention. Many believe that one of his many strengths is the ability to get more bang for the buck, using less grafts to achieve cosmetic differences. If you are looking for your best bet with individualized attention, Konior should be top of your list. He's at the top of his game.

It seems like North America adopted fue later compared to Europe.

with that being said I’ve seen good fue results coming from konior, Nadimi, some decent from gabel, Cooley has a few nice ones albeit smaller cases, Shapiro has been doing fue for quite some time as well and they seem like a good clinic.

true & dorin have posted some good fue cases here that caught my eye as well.

I used to recommend hasson but I no longer like their business model or some of the latest patient posted experiences. It’s just my personal preference

I see wong attends lots of the fue workshops overseas but I don’t see many cases showcased here.

Yeah, agreed on Konior being the best imo; he's brilliant anyone who can opt into his services will have a fantastic all-around experience with him. Everything is done by hand and he never leaves the room (from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. or later).

I've also loved Gabel, Cooley, Shaprio and Panine results. All are long-time established. Nadimi is newer, but her results over the past few years are also very good especially considering the lower graft count used -- I believe the same folks who assist Konior assist her as well.

Thank you to everyone for your feedback and recommendations. I originally narrowed it down to Mwamba, Vories, Shapiro, and Konior, but am looking to add others.

As much as I'd like to go with Dr Konior, his quote had me at over $30k which is unfortunately out of my range.

I had a phone consultation with Dr Vories, but am uncertain on choosing him (although his prices were the best from my list). Still need to do more research on him. Any thoughts on Vories?

I'm waiting to have my consultation with Dr Mwamba in a few weeks, so we will see. The communication from his team so far hasn't been superb, but I've seen good results from him. Any thoughts on Dr Mwamba?

I had a consultation with Shapiro's clinic, and I have to say, they are the ones I'm feeling the most confident with so far. It does look like Dr Josephitis does most of the work, but I'm still unsure as to Shapiro's current involvement with surgeries. I may request a phone consultation with one of the surgeons to go over more questions. Any thoughts on Dr Josephitis?

Dr Nadimi is another option that I'm looking into currently, as I know she does excellent work and is part of Konior's team.

I'm really looking for a surgeon who will be heavily involved in every step of the procedure, like Dr Konior. Any other feedback on these doctors is welcome.

Sheesh! How many grafts did he quote you?

@Tiger2050 Sorry for the delay in my response - Dr Konior quoted me at around $16/graft which was just too steep for me (although I know his work is stellar)

@5BetaReductase Thanks for your input on different options! It's been very helpful

After reviewing many FUE options in the US, (I prefer not to travel outside the US for surgery), I'm very close to choosing Dr. Josephitis/Shapiro at this moment. I was also considering Mwamba, Cooley, and Vories.

My main priority is going with a rock solid surgeon with an awesome track record (without breaking the bank).  Dr Shapiro's clinic seems like a great choice, and they've taken the time to review everything with me via phone/email (Matt Zupan has been very helpful). My only very slight concern is that the surgery may only involve Dr Josephitis and his team without Ron Shapiro, as I've been told Dr Shapiro isn't always available for each surgery. A lot of the great results I've seen posted involved both Josephitis and Shapiro working on the same exact patients, but I can't find many results on work performed just by Josephitis.

Any feedback or reviews on work performed solely by Dr Josephitis is welcome!

Have you considered Nadimi? She’s Konior’s protege similar to Josephitis for Shapiro but has a lot more great results on this forum. Nadimi is significantly cheaper and has a shorter wait list than Konior.
