Senior Member HairEnthusiast101 Posted April 2, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted April 2, 2022 Would a fade with a 1 guard into a 2 guard on sides and back noticeably show the fue scars? Also would a buzz on top show recipient scarring?
Senior Member RTC Posted April 2, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted April 2, 2022 Imo it depends on how the donor was managed. Number one shows skin, if the donor was managed really well I doubt it would be that noticeable to the untrained eye 1 Hattingen September 2023 - Punchouts

Have a look at Mr Rolandas on YouTube when he got his hair cut buzzed right down. Despite a lower skin to hair contrast ratio imo, he had more visible FUE scars so there's no way to 100% predict how yours will turn out. Its just a "Rule of Thumb" you can go by. Rahal Hair Transplant
JoDimaggio, To be honest, as long as you’ve selected an experienced FUE surgeon, you should have no problem wearing your hair cropped short on the sides and back of your head which includes fading from a number one guard to a number two up into the top. Obviously, the donor area will need some time to heal and this is all assuming that your surgeon has used a small enough punch and strategically extracted donor hair In such a way where not too many grafts were taken in a single concentrated area. This of course is typical and standard for an experienced hair surgeon. if you do cut and style your hair in this way, I encourage you to take and post photos showing all angles of the scalp so that we can see how it looks on you. best wishes, Rahal Hair Transplant 1 Rahal Hair Transplant Institute - Answers to questions, posts or any comments from this account should not be taken or construed as medical advice. Even though his hair transplantation is one of the best I've seen, his scars on the back are very noticeable at short length but he also had a lot of grafts taken It is impossible for that guy to have short haircuts at the back, however I think he looks better with medium length hair which will make his donor area look thicker and good

With that said, i think hair looks better kept longer so you actually have styling options and i would say i know some guys like the fade cuts but that's the risk people are going to have to weigh up when they decide they want a hair transplant. Exactly, it is a risk that everyone must accept. I always prefer hair length to be around a number 3 or 4. (the trimmer guard I mean) It looks cleaner and more even. When trying to have faded haircuts after FUE, some hairs might grow slower or faster than another... with that being said you are just asking for the back to look patchy
Senior Member Dillpickle123 Posted April 2, 2022 Senior Member Share Posted April 2, 2022 It think if you get less then 2000 grafts you can probably get away with a bald face if they take grafts from mostly higher up in the donor also if it’s homogeneous
