How did you get your scalp checked?  With a simple visit from a basic doctor?  with a dermascope from a dermatologist (which is often not even enough) or did you have a biopsy?

The check was from a local trichologist. They said that a biopsy is not needed.

I got scalp checked by a local trichologist.  They said I don't need a biopsy.

You look denser in before pictures. Are you on fin or min?

This is bad, seems like most grafts didn’t make it from first impression which is shocking as this is a really good doctor.

Why didn’t you go with Dr Rahal again if his transplant was successful for you second time?

See this is why I always say that a bad donor but good recipient growth is better than bad growth because you can repair a donor but if the grafts don’t make it on recipient they are gone forever and donor only can give so much.

I hope this is just a case of slow growth and it improves.

I'm 7.5 months and growth hasn't improved. I been advised to wait 12 months but I don't think I will see any more growth. Has anyone on here had significant improvement after 7 months?

Are the pictures similar to the last one's you've posted? Can you post updated photos...?

If it's still looking sparse, I know many will say wait 12 months, but it's usually clear imo by month 8. Hopefully Dr. Barghouthi, who often provides great advice here and seems very kind, will offer to support you further.

Yeah I doubt there’s going to be much difference. This is quite shocking to see such poor growth, seems like I dodged a bullet because I was considering going to him.

How is your crown and your donor? Do you have any more grafts left to fill in density at the front?

Id recommend taking a biopsy, a simple trichoscan cant reveal autoimmune conditions like LLP or fibrotic alopecia

I doubt the technique is in fault for poor growth, even if the best dr in the planet made this transplant you would have experienced similar problems most likely.

I had my scalp examined twice by professionals. I have got no symptoms of LLP. My scalp is healthy.

You can't detect autoimmune problems without a biopsy in most cases its not visually apparent. There's a reason why scalp biopsies exist.

Once you have taken a biopsy and confirmed your scalp has no autoimmune condition you can revert back to blaming the doctor but until then no one is going to take it seriously im afraid.

You only do a biopsy if the doctor suspects an autoimmune problem. The doctors i seen don't suspects an autoimmune problem.

How can you not suspect an auto-immune problem when clearly reacting badly to trauma of a HT that seems correctly performed? I would definetely change doctors. Pretty sure a biopsy is the most logical procedure at this stage.

What if you change to a new HT surgeon only to have same issues again? Why would you risk this situation any further

I don't think you know more the doctors who examined me. I'm hoping I'm just a slow grower. I have seen some slight improvements over the last month.

Any updates @taza?

How has your communication been like with the Dr? Has he mentioned how he will assist you if the result is not satisfactory?

The communication with doctor has been good. Dr Taleb answers all my questions within a few hours. Dr Taleb has ask me to wait 12 months post surgery before considering any further intervention.

I did the biopsy on my own initiative, none of the dermatologists who visited me recommended it, I wanted to remove any doubts, no problem emerged from my report, despite everything, I'm not 100% convinced.

With respect, if you've had 4 HT's and only one of them has turned out well, you should absolutely be getting a biopsy before going ahead with a 5th HT. It would be madness not to rule out an underlying issue for certain at this stage. I appreciate you've had some more basic checks in the past, but by not getting a more thorough examination you're simply denying the evidence of your failed HT's that something else might be amiss.

It may be the case that you've lost some native hair owing to shockloss, or they were simply weak and couldn't withstand the trauma of surgery. They may well make a come back with more time and your medical interventions (Fin/Min).
