Your trasnplant journey has been good. Your hailine seems natural and your strip scar is barely visible and thats understandable as the last one was done by Dr Rahal. Now if you want to hairline using FUE it should be fine. A good FUE is even lesser visible that a FUT scar unless overharvested. I would limit the extaction to 2000- 2500 Grafts  so to make sure that the donor area doesnt look depleted even when you cut it small. Other thatn that with a good doctor you should be fine. Also be conservative with hairline. Not sure if in future you would need graft for crown work.

Thanks Texan35, thats what they recommended to me 2000-2500 grafts only and save like 800 grafts for later from remaining donor for crown when i get older. im 48 now. good to know i can still do short hair a bit like now after FUE. thanks again!

Your FUT's have done well for you.  I would be concerned about overharvesting with 2000-2500 grafts via FUE (do I see some retrograde going on?).  Maybe 1000-1500 would be less risky.

  • Thanks 1

Dr. G: 1,000 grafts (FUT) 2008

Dr. Paul Shapiro: 2,348 grafts (FUT) 2009 ~ 1,999 grafts (FUT) 2011 ~ 300 grafts (Scar Reduction) 2013

Dr. Konior: 771 grafts (FUT) 2015 ~ 558 grafts (FUT) 2017 ~ 1,124 grafts (FUE) 2020

You want to “add one inch”? Do you mean lower your hairline by one inch?

yes sir sorry, lower it by 3/4 inch side to side i guess or 1 inch? how many grafts that you think and with my existing FUT scar i just found out that i most likely wont be able to cut it like it is in the pictures. how about micro pigmentation on the FUT scar so when i cut it short it wont be too obvious? has anywone has that done? thanks

For some reason, the photo that you posted isn’t showing for me. I don’t know if anyone else is having that problem however, the good news about FUE is that you have the ability to crop your hair on the side and back of your scalp quite short without showing any signs of scarring. With FUE, it leaves behind small circular scars that are virtually undetectable as long as the physician is using small punches and is experienced at harvesting In areas that will both maximize density and allow the surrounding hair to camouflage scarring. Unlike the linear scar that FUT/strip leaves behind, a surgeon will extract follicular units one by one spaced far enough apart so that it’s not noticeable.

Best of luck in your upcoming procedure.
