Regular Member FUE2020 Posted December 24, 2020 Regular Member Share Posted December 24, 2020 Had an ARTAS FUE 6.5 weeks ago and here are the pics from immediately post op, 10days post, and now. The scarcity scares me but I’m holding out on it being part of the process. Currently on propecia, nizoral, and minoxidil. What are your thoughts? Senior Member Captain Haddock Posted December 24, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted December 24, 2020 Well on first look it appears that the area is too large to be covered with only 1800 grafts, but if they all grow they might give you decent density and later on you can get another manual FUE to fill the gaps in. Don't worry about it now pal, happy growing My Journey: NW2 @Eugenix | 1388 Graft Frontal Restoration | Dr. Arika Bansal
Regular Member FUE2020 Posted December 24, 2020 Author Regular Member Share Posted December 24, 2020 Does this look like it’s on par with a successful result tho? Given it’s only 6.5 weeks in?

Given it’s only 6.5 weeks in? Way to early to comment on that. You would need to wait at least 6 months. But from initial assessment one can tell that that's a lot of area to be covered with 1800 grafts. I suppose 2800 would've been more ideal. Was there a reason you chose ARTAS and not a skilled surgeon? My Journey: NW2 @Eugenix | 1388 Graft Frontal Restoration | Dr. Arika Bansal

The surgeon is reputable. It’s Dr. Ken Anderson in Atlanta. I chose him bc he was close and had good reviews. I understand the issues that ARTAS has but at the end of the day it’s the surgeon making the call of the donor area extraction and making the recipient area sites. I don’t know if the focus on ARTAS has too much to do with the # of grafts or the actual outcome. Besides the transaction rate and punch size argument. Regular Member FUE2020 Posted January 25, 2021 Author Regular Member Share Posted January 25, 2021 At the 11 week mark. Not much progress. Slightly concerned but too early to tell. Thoughts? im on fin, min, nizoral
Senior Member makehairgreatagain Posted January 25, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted January 25, 2021 Still too early to tell. Keep being patient as it can take up to 18 months to fully mature.
Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted January 25, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 25, 2021 No one can say if it’s successful at 6.5 weeks. It takes a full year. My thoughts off the bat is the density is low. I don’t know what your goals are, and who the surgeon was. I’m a paid admin for Hair Transplant Network. Up top are the immediate post op pics. I got 1850 grafts on a pretty conservative hairline as you can see. I am aware I’ll likely need ops in the future. Doctor is Ken Anderson in Atlanta. Goal was to get me back to a mature, conservative hairline.

Senior Member Britanium Posted January 25, 2021 Senior Member Share Posted January 25, 2021 To be honest, looking at the area to be covered and the graft count I don’t think they planned enough. The density of the implanted grafts isn’t great. Toward the hairline it’s better. Hope you will get good growth though and you can review it at the usual 12 month point. Well he didn’t cover my entire frontal third. He drew a pretty conservative line so I’m hoping the mature look makes up w the relatively low graft count
Regular Member Cali Time Posted January 29, 2021 Regular Member Share Posted January 29, 2021 You’ll see hairs come in at the 3.5 month mark
Administrators Melvin- Admin Posted January 29, 2021 Administrators Share Posted January 29, 2021 Yes, 3.5 maybe even 4, the worst thing you can do is start preemptively start calling months. Just because the month started doesn’t mean it’s a month for your hair. Call it from the day you had the procedure. 1 I’m a paid admin for Hair Transplant Network.
