Senior Member giegnosiganoe Posted October 11, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted October 11, 2020 Many of the top docs seem to do a hairline that is mostly straight across, without many irregularities (Bloxham is a good example, I think Konior too?). It seems to me that this may lead to a less natural looking result? I know for sure my hair has always had some irregularities. How important is this and which top surgeons would you recommend that have this skill?
DrTBarghouthi
Micro and macro irregularities in the transition zone of the hairline is a very essential step in hairline creation. In fact it is a standard of practice. I doubt that top docs would avoid such a step. It might not be obvious on photos immediately after surgery, but I am quite sure the docs mentioned follow the same standards of practice when it comes to that. Of note, these irregularities dont have to look so obvious on photos but just enough not to have very obvious perfectly aligned side by side hair follicles. Important thing also is not to over do the irregularities as this can also look obvious when hair grows or is combed backwards. Senior Member ciaus Posted October 11, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted October 11, 2020 I agree irregularities are important for natural look, even 'regular' irregularities like this. Looking at the immediate post op pattern -if that was my head I would have been worried about the final result being too patterned, but it ended up looking incredibly natural. Senior Member aaron1234 Posted October 11, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted October 11, 2020 All top docs have irregularities in the hairline, some are just more subtle with it than others. Also, it takes more than irregularities to make a hairline appear natural - meaning I've seen hairlines with irregularities that don't look so great. DrTBarghouthi
Absolutely. Irregularities are one component. Microscopically sorted Single haired grafts, direction and angulation are among the other things that matter. Also paying attention to the various facial geometry.
