khalafm
Hello everyone, I am a 30 year old dentist. I have been suffering with some hairline and frontal area loss for around 4 years. I have been using finasteride for he last 2 years with no problems. I have a good family history of hairloss, with only one member of the family having a limited frontal loss. I know my hairloss is not too dramatic but compared to what it has been , to me I felt that the receding hairline is significant. I live in Jordan and due to the slower pace of work during the covid-19 pandemic, I decided to undergo my Hair transplant 2 weeks ago. I have been researching for doctors locally and in Turkey as it is close by, but being in a medical profession, I was reluctant to travel to go to Turkey, especially after hearing so many stories about the procedure being a hit and miss in many clinics. I did my research locally and decided to do the procedure with Dr. Taleb Barghouthi at Vertex hair clinic. I had consulted him last winter and received a good feeling about him and his work. I also met and talked to few of his clients and was reassured. In a way I was kind of pushing myslef to do it too as I know this time period was going to be suitable for me in terms of recovery. I am extremely pleased with the progress so far, although it is only a couple of weeks since my procedure. I personally participate in forums myself as a dentist, posting my work and results and when I asked the doctor if there is anything similar to this for hair transplant, he informed me of this website. I felt it was worth writing about my experience. I was told I need around 2500 grafts (FUE) to lower my hairline and restore my loss in the region. After following the pre-surgical instructions and a waiting period of around 8 weeks, I managed to take up a late cancellation spot. The procedure started at 8 with some check ups, medications and surgical planning. Dr. Taleb drew my hairline, shaved the donor area and the area where the new grafts will go. We then started with the extraction process after giving in the local anaesthetic. There was slight discomfort with the anaesthesia, but then everything went completely numb. The extraction process was done completely by him. He was doing all the punching and his assistant was removing the punched grafts using forceps. She is quite senior I could tell. I thought she was a medical doctor as she seemed so knowledgeable and experienced and could answer most questions about the procedure. The extraction took around 2.5-3 hours in total. there was one or two other technicians using microscopes and counting and checking grafts in an extended area of the procedure room. I was continuously hearing numbers and I realized later that they were sorting out the grafts by the number of hairs in it and checking each one. I was then bandaged and anesthesized in the front. Lunch was ordered and the channels in the front were made by the Dr. himself as well. After a nice lunch break, the senior technician and another technician started placing the grafts with Dr. Taleb being in and out. He placed few of the grafts while making the channels to check that the size of the channels wasnt too small or too wide as he mentioned. The implantation process took over two hours. i took a short break in between. i was falling asleep and watching Netflix in the meantime. When everything was done, I got the instructions discussed by the Dr. and was scheduled a hair wash the next day and at day 10. My recovery phase was fairly smooth. Some itching at times which I used aloe vera/ olive oil for. I had very minimal swelling as I was asked to use ice, head recline and oral steroids for few days. This was all clearly provided by them and labeled by the day. I must say I had a very positive experience. It's important to feel at ease and I certainly did with the Dr. and his staff. they give you the full attention with not much going on apart from my surgery. They do book one surgery per day and the atmosphere is quite relaxed and un rushed. Surgery details: Total grafts: 2480 SIngle hairs: 379 Hairs / follicle ratio: 2.99 (which is apparently high) Photos before: Donor 1- 2 days: 10 days:

Keep us posted and do not lose faith in the hard next 3-4 month. 400+ grafts in 2018 and 2900 grafts in 2020 via FUE with Feriduni

khalafm
Hello everyone, I had my almost 1 month check recently. Things are going well. Still some redness but it is gradually fading. I am past the initial sensation of itch and my long hair is covering the front region quite well. Here are some photos of the progress.
khalafm
4 months check. Certainly feels that there is something happening. I feel short stubbles too. It is hard to tell when you look daily in the mirror. But I think things are goin forward. Been a tough 4 months. I was told that things should accelerate from now on. Fingers crossed.
