Regular Member rafter_01 Posted February 11, 2020 Regular Member Share Posted February 11, 2020 Hi, It's my third night since my hair transplant and I'm struggling to sleep much on my back. When can I sleep normally again, like on my side etc? I've had very little sleep so far due to the travel pillow being uncomfortable for me. Irritating! Senior Member LaserCap Posted February 11, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted February 11, 2020 5-7 days. A lot less of an issue once the sutures are removed. The last thing you want is to have a wide scar for the sake of comfort. That's if you did FUT. If FUE, ask the doctor what his protocol is. Senior Member CosmoKramer Posted February 11, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted February 11, 2020 I used a really good memory foam neck pillow for about 7-9 nights then after just slept as I usually do.
Regular Member rafter_01 Posted February 11, 2020 Author Regular Member Share Posted February 11, 2020 So after 10 nights i+ or so it wouldn't matter if my transplant area gets touched whilst sleeping?
Senior Member 1978matt Posted February 11, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted February 11, 2020 After 7 days it will be pretty difficult to lose a graft. I'd play it safe for at least 5 days. 2 hours ago, rafter_01 said: So after 10 nights i+ or so it wouldn't matter if my transplant area gets touched whilst sleeping? Senior Member gillenator Posted February 11, 2020 Senior Member Share Posted February 11, 2020 You won't lose any grafts after 5 days...some say 3 days but never hurts to give it a few extra. Regular Member 7Shel Posted February 11, 2020 Regular Member Share Posted February 11, 2020 Five days is definitely fine. I’ve had six transplants and resumed normal sleeping between the fourth and fifth nights after each procedure. Never had an issue with losing a graft. So I can literally sleep on my side or front like i usually or is it a more of a case of being able to sleep a little more freely but not being careless?
