LonelyGraft
Hey all i just had an fue procedure done a little over 2 weeks ago. I’m planning on taking a 4-5 hour road trip from California to Vegas. It’s quite sunny on this drive. My question is even if there is no direct sun on my scalp during the drive, should I still wear a hat? I understand uv rays still penetrate the glass and skin can still be affected by them without direct contact.
Senior Member Curious Posted October 6, 2018 Senior Member Share Posted October 6, 2018 Yes you should wear a hat, UV penetrates most car window glass. Find a hat with a SPF of at least 30.

Senior Member Dazed Posted October 7, 2018 Senior Member Share Posted October 7, 2018 I just bought an UPF 50 hat from Amazon. I live in Florida so I could use it anyway. Senior Member pkipling Posted October 18, 2018 Senior Member Share Posted October 18, 2018 Definitely wear a hat. It's better to be safe than sorry... If you can find one with SPF, that's great, but I think any solid hat would keep the sun out. The hats I wore post-op definitely didn't have an SPF listed and they worked just fine.
