Looks like a very good response. Do you have any photos showing the difference it made for your hairline? That's the area that usually doesn't see as much regrowth.

It gave my receded hairline back too. Filled winow peaks.

You cannot care about these results when it gives you the sides i mentioned earlier. Wrecked me physically & mentally. Still, i consider myself lucky only TMJ stuck with me after dropping it.

I think the positive far outweighs the negative for u meet ur maker . U got urself results of a $5-8k thousand dollars of a hair transplant from

Finasteride .. it’s true tho , u should of started on meds way earlier before u became a Norwood 5- 6 .. a few hairs right now don’t matter too much for u,, u started meds too late n ur hairloss was too aggressive .. so the minor side effects bothered u enough for u to quit finasteride .even though it was helping whats it’s intended for . it’s inevitable that u will loss most ur hair .. no Meds can fix that ..

- thanks for letting us know that the meds do work .. n those side effects u mentioned I take that any day .. It’s not bad enough for me .. I can handle that .. I still have a full head of hair .. but a lot of it has gotten thinner n eventually will fall out , due to age n health n dht .. so if I can prolong my hairloss while I still got a lot of it .. Its so worth it .. rather than having multiple hair surgeries ..

I want to let u know I feel what u going through .. I hate taking Meds .. I took prophecia for 4 months 3 years ago .. my libido seemed to of went down .. didn’t watch porn as much .. n the thought of having to take medications for the rest of my life was very unappealing .. I was very Not very knowledgeable about hairloss .. my family has no history of major hairloss .. n I had thick good looking hair .. it really made me look a lot younger than my age :) I looked at the bottle of prophecia .. n was like I don’t need this .. n just threw it in the garbage .. 3 years later .. all the hair on my head gotten thinner .. n when they get miniaturized enough ,, they fall out easier .. by barely touching my head there be a few strands falling out n they don’t seem to grow back .. so I’m left with 30% less volume of hair n at this rate I might end up being a high Norwood because I let my hair thin too much .. even though my recession isn’t bad .. around Norwood 2-3 right now .. but it’s diffused all over .. if we don’t take medications that stops the dht from miniaturizing our hair .. they will have a shorter life span . Then pretty soon we be a high Norwood like u n Matt .. it’s so depressing,, I have a serious medical condition since I was in my early twenties n hairloss wansnt one of them .. n it has not made me more depressed than losing my hair .. at least I can hide my health condition .. but hairloss depresses a man really hard , everyone can see it .. so it’s kinda not right for fin haters to be so adamant that finasteride is not right for someone just cuz it’s not right for u .. When the majority of folks will benefit from it ..

I know. If it messes you up physically then there's absolutely no point in taking the drug. I was just interested in seeing what it did for your hairline. Fin so very rarely does anything for that area so it's interesting to see what can happen.

In my long experience both with hair loss and on this community, I can say that results and side effects from Propecia does and will vary. My case, Propecia really did nothing. I thought for some time it may have helped to maintain the hair just above the occipital ridge in the back and below the crown and possibly some nominal natural hair throughout the top of the scalp. That said, I decided, for personal reasons to come off of Propecia probably four or five years ago and have not lost any additional hair that I thought Propecia was saving. Propecia did not give me any side effects and it did not re-grow any hair. Whether or not it maintained any hair for awhile, is questionable. It seems like it probably didn’t do anything for me given that stopping Propecia did not affect any natural hair I have left.

That said, my experience is unlike many. It appears that the majority of people that I have spoken with have experienced either some minor growth from Propecia or it had help them maintain their existing natural hair while they went on ahead for hair transplant surgery to regrow hair in bald or balding areas.

A magnificent few have reported significant hair regrowth such as photos presented on the previous page where the before and after photos are so distinct that it looks like the person had undergone hair transplant surgery.

Another unfortunate few had experienced side effects so great that even stopping Propecia did not make them go away, which is why the condition known as post finasteride syndrome (PFS) now exists. This simply refers to those people who have experienced sexual side effects from the medication and continues having them even after she sing or use of Propecia.

The above description basically shows the three significant points on the bell curve You have the far extreme to the left at the bottom (Extreme side effects), you have the normal point up at the very top in the middle (those with nominal regrowth and mainenance of existing hair) and you have the far extreme on the right at the bottom (those with magnificent hair regrowth results). Everyone else falls somewhere in between. If you understand the bell curve, the reason why the normal point is at the top, it’s because the majority of people fall in that range and as you move to the left or the right of the bell curve, fewer and fewer people fall in that range.

So I know I’ve seen a lot of people debate whether or not Propecia is affective or produces horrible side effects, etc. The truth is, it varies from person to person based on the bell curve that I described above.

What works for one person doesn’t necessarily work for another. What produces side effects for one doesn’t necessarily produce side effects for another.

Best wishes,

Bill
