Regular Member thewalker10 Posted August 10, 2015 Regular Member Share Posted August 10, 2015 Folks, I had a transplant in 3rd week of June and I'm really concerned and confused. I haven't really seen a ton of shock loss. I've seen some loss, though. My concern pertains to my current appearance. At the moment, my crown region looks pretty much the same pre-op. Is that completely natural/normal? If yes, then when should I start seeing improvements?

Senior Member Squatch Posted August 10, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted August 10, 2015 Spanker is right...... In fact you should look worse at this point. Relax and wait a few more months for growth. Regular Member thewalker10 Posted August 14, 2015 Author Regular Member Share Posted August 14, 2015 True that. I'm extremely by nature and at the same time, I'm skeptical. Hence, I must admit, I'm a bit anxious. Since I'm South Asian, I've been told that hair growth in my case will take a bit longer and on top of that, my transplant was performed in crown region. It's gonna be an excruciatingly long wait over the next 12-18 months.

Senior Member aaron1234 Posted August 14, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted August 14, 2015 7 weeks is smack dab in the middle of what we call the "ugly duckling" phase. It's usually gets worse before it gets better, so consider yourself fortunate that it just looks the same as it did pre-op. Patience! Senior Member gillenator Posted August 14, 2015 Senior Member Share Posted August 14, 2015 Sounds perfectly normal and many guys end up experiencing some level of shock loss within the recipient area and even the adjoining areas. IMHO, the toughest part of having the procedure is waiting for the regrowth to occur. And being South Asian makes no difference whatsoever... Regular Member thewalker10 Posted August 15, 2015 Author Regular Member Share Posted August 15, 2015 @spidey, I was never given any handout. All I've been told is it won't be until 4 months before I start seeing some growth. I'm just amazed that I haven't seen a lot of 'shock' hairloss.
