Regular Member Thanks4TheHelp Posted November 20, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted November 20, 2014 Hi, im 25 and recently started noticing my hairline has been receding. The only person in my family with any hair loss is my moms dad, who at 70 had a pretty decent amount of hair, really only a receded hairline. I went to a hair specialist, and was told i had nothing to worry about, and kind of hurried me out, but my hair is definitely doing something. Thanks for your thoughts. Senior Member Loags79 Posted November 20, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted November 20, 2014 1. Count your lucky stars you don't have diffuae mpb. 2. At worse you'd be a norwood 2 and very mild vertrx thinning. What you should consider. 1. Low dose finasteride, say 0.5mg/day 2. 0.5mL minoxidil twice a day 3. Take hair supplememts comtaining biotin and saw palmetto. Low dose will limit potential side effects and more importantly is better than doing nothing at all. my HT thread: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/175267-dr-radha-fut-3261-grafts-photo-word-heavy.html

Senior Member Spanker Posted November 20, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted November 20, 2014 From the pics I don't see any reason to start treatment. I'd just keep an eye on it for now. Senior Member KO Posted November 20, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted November 20, 2014 I would just monitor, even if it regresses, you will still be in good shape because you will still be early and can get transplants. 3382 FUE Lupanzula http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/185463-3382-grafts-lupanzula.html
Senior Member Loags79 Posted November 20, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted November 20, 2014 take note finasteride won't get you back the hair you lost in the recessed areas, but it will slow down or even stop the normal recession path you're on. You should reassess things in 6months. If you notice further recession, then start on the above mentioned strategy. should you wish to see the affects of meds, click onto KO's link on his signature my HT thread: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/175267-dr-radha-fut-3261-grafts-photo-word-heavy.html
Senior Member Sean Posted November 20, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted November 20, 2014 just keep an eye on it. no need for surgery at this point at all. i wouldnt even consider finasteride at this point. At 25, you wont even know if your body will tolerate it as it does have side effects. Monitor another few months to a year, if you see drastic changes then maybe consider some form of treatment, rogaine etc., but right now it is difficult to see. some folks have hairlines like that after having hair surgery, or those with naturally 'maturing' hairlines.
