Scalp Donor Laxity - Am I good candidate for HT?

Hi friends!

I wanted to know, from what you'll think, how does my donor area look like? Does it have good donor scalp laxity? Am I a good candidate for HT? Posted pictures of sides, back, front and top..

My hair has thinned a great deal over the top and back. But, my hairline is still intact and has not receded. Also, by the looks of it, could I be a NW 4/5 diffused or more?

With Fin 1mg/day, can I expect to maintain this hair and wear them really short?

Thanks,

Quasar.

Fin might make a nice difference but you don't look like a good candidate at this point.

Hi Spanker,

Thanks for the reply, thought not entirely encouraging! :( Is the HT difficult, because of my donor area, or too large a scalp to cover or something else? Also, what on the Norwood scale would you put me at? Is it diffused?

Also, can Minox + Fin thicken some hair/at least stop further progression?

Fin can thicken hair in the donor as well as the top, but that doesn't happen to everybody. I would first take fin and minox to see what happens. At this time your donor looks a little thin, which means an HT wouldn't be an option. That being said, you have a decent hairline, and if you shave the sides to be shorter than the top, I think it will look fine.

Btw, the main effect of fin is to stop further progression. :)

Not a good candidate due to young age and extensive hairloss. I'm not sure if your donor area is stable or not. I guess some of your family are very bald?

I would definitely not get a surgery. You will not get enough hair and end up with scars all over your head that will be difficult to conceal

You may wish to look at scalp micro pigmentation options.

Sorry but I agree with what the others are saying your donor looks less than ideal and would be hard to cover scarring and doesn't appear to be going to yield you enough grafts to make a big difference as you have such a large crown and mid scalp to cover.

I would get on fin and assess in 6 months and then 1 year.

I wish you all the best.
