Regular Member abhay Posted September 6, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted September 6, 2014 (edited) hiii Your opinion about hair transplant is nice and good and always remember these things during HT. I found a doctor in India is specializes in providing natural looking hair transplant at an cost effective rate by an experienced doctor and the team. Senior Member options Posted September 7, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted September 7, 2014 Looks good. Looking forward to seeing the result. Lots of people mention Dr Lorenzo is expensive...how much is he? What kind of a waiting list does he have?
Regular Member Jimbo34 Posted September 11, 2014 Author Regular Member Share Posted September 11, 2014 3 month update (really need a haircut now!!). Definitely some growth happening and happy so far with progress. I know there is still a long way to go but hopefully will only get better from here on. Pinkness still present (looks worse on photos than in person) but doesn't bother me going out in public - nobody notices anyway. i also have slightly more growth on left side than right - I know it will even out eventually. Appreciate any feedback!

Thanks Glocktop - 3 people asked (who knew me anyway) because I all of sudden appeared in a hat after about a week of hiding away! I kinda laughed it off and said that the barber made a mess of my hair and accidentally cut my scalp with his clippers. Now that i no longer wear a hat the same people have said absolutely nothing since.

Regular Member Jimbo34 Posted September 19, 2014 Author Regular Member Share Posted September 19, 2014 Thanks Cueball. Just had my first haircut since the HT (14 weeks post op) !!!@ Hoooray!! and my barber who I have been going to for 4 years didn't say a thing!! He is usually the type of guy who would say exactly what's on his mind so he was even being polite and keeping his mouth shut (for a change) or he genuinely didn't notice. Personally think it was him being polite but you never know!! I'll see what he says next time i go in. Anyway heres some more pics 14 weeks post op. Tried to place as much natural light into pics as possible. No styling products or concealers either. Let us know what you think P.s still a tad bit uncomfortable going out in public as im convinced there is still significant redness.
Regular Member Jimbo34 Posted October 7, 2014 Author Regular Member Share Posted October 7, 2014 4 month update!! and must say I am really happy with progress so far. I am starting to get the double glances and had a few people say 'have you dyed your hair' I just laugh it off and say no! Patience game is killing me I am literally looking in every possible mirror I can - people must think 'look at that vain idiot'! Its only when i look at pre op photos that I realise how far I've come I have attached a couple of pre-op photos for easier comparison (there are also pre op photos in my earlier documentation direct from Dr Lorenzo) Appreciate your views on progress so far. Senior Member Pma Posted October 7, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted October 7, 2014 Looking good jimbo, makes me feel a little more relaxed as I'm going to Madrid in December for 3000 grafts with lorenzo hope I get a result like yours. Any advice jimbo regarding the procedure?
Regular Member Jimbo34 Posted October 8, 2014 Author Regular Member Share Posted October 8, 2014 Thanks stinger! Thanks Pma - you have picked an excellent surgeon (well you know that already..right!?) Best advice i can give is relax, try not get too nervous (really not that much to it) and stay focussed on the end result oh and wear buttoned shirts/t-shirts and GOOD LUCK!! Keep us posted on progress. Be interested to know what hotel, surroundings and airport experiences are like as I shall be going to Madrid for my crown but not till sometime next year. Senior Member Pma Posted October 8, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted October 8, 2014 Thanks jimbo, I'll defiantly keep you updated on all the things you need to know about Madrid feel free to ask anything about Madrid after I have it done. I will start a thread in December. Can I ask jimbo how long do you feel it was before it was not obvious you had the procedure done like the redness ect... I'm going back to work about 5 weeks after will I look back to normal by then in your opinion? Cheers pma
Regular Member Jimbo34 Posted October 8, 2014 Author Regular Member Share Posted October 8, 2014 Thanks pma. Look forward to seeing your progress from Dec! With regards feeling comfortable in public post op is down to own personal views, self-confidence, recovery speed etc but me personally I felt comfortable around 3 month mark although the select few who were aware of my HT said from around 6 weeks that they couldn't even notice the redness (I convinced myself that it was still really red! - that's self paranoia for you!) Here's a couple of pics from 5 weeks post op. The camera ALWAYS makes the redness look worse. Also get some Aloe Vera cream and ask dr lorenzo about any concealers that you could use if redness is an issue for you.
Regular Member glocktop Posted October 9, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted October 9, 2014 Jimbo, looking amazing! Keep those pics coming! Did you use Aloe Vera, and what concealers does Lorenzo suggest? I'm scheduled with Lorenzo in late November. And I'm with you PMA, the redness factor is a chief concern for me. I can only take about 2 weeks off. NW5a, fin/foam/couvre 3801 grafts FUE, Dr Jose Lorenzo - Madrid, November 2014
Senior Member Pma Posted October 9, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted October 9, 2014 Thanks jimbo, really apprieciate the advice and pics. Hi glocktop yes the redness seems to be a worry but at least it will be winter and a woolly hat will look the norm!!! Are you staying in the ibis in Madrid as they recommend it? How many grafts? Have you been to Madrid before? If not where did you consult with dr lorenzo? Sorry for all the questions glocktop. Cheers pma
Regular Member glocktop Posted October 9, 2014 Regular Member Share Posted October 9, 2014 Hey PMA, i dont want to hijack Jimbo's thread so i will be brief. Email consultation, 3500 grafts, Hotel Ibis. First time to Madrid! I will create my own thread soon. Senior Member hairweare Posted October 11, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted October 11, 2014 First procedure of 1500 scalp grafts to front and 300 beard grafts to old FUT occipital scar in March at Manchester. I am scheduled for round 2 in mid November. Will spend the weekend chilling at the ME Madrid in Madrid Centro before checking into the Ibis the day before surgery. Senior Member Pma Posted October 11, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted October 11, 2014 Hi hairweare, How are your results coming along from your first procedure with dr lorenzo in March? How was the hole fue thing for you? Cheers pma
Senior Member hairweare Posted October 12, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted October 12, 2014 Hello PMA, as of today it will be 7 months. After 3 previous FUTs I have a limited donor supply left so Dr Lorenzo wanted to proceed conservatively which I believe was a wise decision. The 1500 grafts in the frontal third have had significant impact already, and seem far more impressive than the combined 2000 grafts from the last two FUTs in 1994 and 2000. I would estimate the FUE yield to be 90% or better. I am anxious to learn what Dr. Lorenzo plans for the second procedure and hopefully there is another 1500 good grafts left. Senior Member Pma Posted October 13, 2014 Senior Member Share Posted October 13, 2014 Hi hairweare, That sounds really promising that he has achieved such a high yield and I hope you can get at least another 1500 to get a great result good luck to you. Cheers pma
