4 months post op HT#2 3000 FUT with Dr.Arocha, it starts !!

Looks great, Scooter. Really thickening up now and getting longer. You are the second poster I have recently run across who had a procedure 5-10 years ago, yet there wasn't much evidence you had a procedure before your ht#2. Do you have any thoughts on why you did not retain many of your grafts/hairs from your 2007 procedure? I am just wondering if we should all be thinking about maintenance in a different way to ensure we retain our grafts and keep on growing.

 

Also I got off my fin and was losing more hair , so I got back on it and it's paying off for me now

Hadenough, thanks for your reply. When I had my HT in 2007, it was a very small amt of grafts for the area. I probably would have been better off with about 3500 forbthe area. Also this was before I knew much about this type of surgery so we wanted to be safe and start small and see if another procedure was something worth pursuing. I was happy enough using concealers until last year I decided I wanted to add more and with a top Doctor. That's when I found Dr.Arocha and couldn't be more pleased with my results.

Thanks for the responses, Scott. That makes sense and seems to be a fairly common problem for some transplants even as recent as your first one - not enough grafts for the area trying to cover. It is also good to hear that you feel fin has really helped you.

Only just spotted this thread - awesome improvement Scooter! You still using concealers?

Although cannot see your face, from the pics alone it looks like you've slashed 10 years off your visual age.....and I bet you feel a lot younger too!

Thanks Jimbo. I do feel younger and starting to get lots of compliments from my friends and family. In the pics, I do not use concealers and only use them on my crown as it still has some thinning but is also improving. Probably attack it on the next go around.

I am very happy with my results. Starting at 4 months post op I have seen such a change. I can now style my hair the way I always wanted to. My confidence has skyrocketed. Getting compliments all the time now. I have absolutely no regrets. I owe it all to Dr.Arocha and his team , they are brilliant and really took care of me. So I am very happy I did it and would recommend a hair restoration with Dr.Arocha to anyone I know who wants to restore their hair !! I would do it again in a heartbeat , and I just might have 1 more in the future for the crown.

Thanks CeCe ! Actually my 1 year is January 8th so I will make what looks to be my last result photos , even though I still have so hairs still maturing, I may do an 18 month final result. This 45 year old is beyond happy with my results!

I am just 2 days away from my 1 year post op.I figure Ill post today since I wont have time Thursday. As a 45 year old from where I was Norwood 5A ,I will say I am 100% satisfied with my result. Love it ! People comment often as to how good my new look is without even knowing I had surgery, they just know I grew my hair out longer,1st time in 20 years! Anyone considering a procedure to improve your overall look, I suggest doing your research ask plenty of questions go with your gut feeling. My gut feeling took me to Dr. Arocha and his amazing team, superb.

In fact, I think it would be great to have a nomination and voting process for the top 10 when they pass the 12 month post-op mark within the calendar voting year. I'd say from 7 to 12 months has been lots growth and maturing/thickening of the grafts as my hairline also became more defined.
