With HT's do you generally get what you paid for?

It depends on what surgeon you choose. If you go to a quality surgeon like I did, then you normally get a great result that definitely dented your wallet.

There are some real sharks out there that are more expensive with no ethics and often no ability.

Really it shouldn't come down to cost, it should come down to research. Find a group of doctors that you have seen a lot of good results posted in trustworthy places (i.e not always on their website), find the ones you like and THEN compare prices and location.

2,000 grafts FUT Dr. Feller, July 27th 2012. 23 years old at the time. Excellent result. Need crown sorted eventually but concealer works well for now.

Propecia and minoxidil since 2010. Fine for 8 years - bad sides after switching to Aindeem in 2018.

Switched to topical fin/minox combo from Minoxidil Max in October 2020, along with dermarolling 1x a week.

It a doctor gets high yield (95% or above) and the hair is transplanted with artistry, then yes, you do. However, this is only done by a small percentage of clinics worldwide, IMO, so, if you do your research and get a good doc, and your expectations are in line with what transplants can actually offer, then yes, you get what you pay for. The answer to this will be different to each individual. Many people are happy and it is worth 10 times to them what they pay, some are happy but want more, and some find that it does not meet their expectations.

I am an online representative for Dr. Raymond Konior who is an elite member of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians.

Yes, this is generally true taking into consideration what Spanker mentioned.

If they are a recommended doctor on this forum with numerous successful cases documented and little to no negative feedback you will likely get what you pay for.

FUE in Turkey with the recommended docs seems to be a rule breaker currently, as it's quite cheap

go dense or go home

Unbiased advice and opinions based on 25 plus years of researching and actual experience with hair loss, hair restoration via both FUT & FUE, SMP, scalp issues including scalp eczema & seborrheic dermatitis and many others

There's plenty of Indian/other cheap doctors who have great results, and here in Australia the prices are extremely expensive (I could bring me and a friend to India, stay for 12 days and get like 2500 grafts for cheaper than just an AUS surgery) and I haven't heard many people raving about the result.

I'd say it's more smart shopping than getting what you pay for...
