  1. Mycrowngone, thanks for the link to your HT, I will check it out. The only post care lotion I used was the one provided to me by the clinic. I also used the pills they gave me, that's about it. Other than that, 1 month after my HT I continued minoxidil everyday. Dutasteride 0.5mg every other day also, but you can take your fin or dut right after the HT(if you have already been taking it). I don't know if you are a new fin/dut user, how that would affect the HT.
  2. My last post seemed to be a false alarm, my transplanted hairs did not fall again, it was actually just the alopecia areata attacking my native hair follicles again after going through major stress from unrelated issues. @ Twinspark, I know every one who shares their HT's write nice long posts about their experience, the thing is I have had no time because of college(spring and summer courses). I apologize for not doing the same but I will say that my experience with Maral Klinik, from 1 to 10, 10 being highest, I would be lying if I say it wasn't a perfect 10. They really took care of me throughout the entire procedure and post procedure. Midway through the HT, they gave me a break, where I had this great tasting grilled chicken provided by them, I will never forget the taste of that chicken. Dr. Maral is very responsible about hairlines, he did not let me have my desired lower hairline, but that just shows his professionalism. He was honest with me regarding alopecia areata and HT's, he was also clear that I have a poor donor area and maybe only 2000 grafts left. Like I said before, I will probably go back for another HT with Maral Klinik, so that should tell you what I thought about the experience. Of course final results are also important to determine if I will go back there or not, but so far I feel good about where things are heading. And as far as my experience with the clinic goes, it's definitely a group of people that I would once again trust with my scalp. The entire team is filed with highly skilled technicians. I can tell you i'm definitely not worried about my results. I am just worried about my own autoimmune disease, alopecia areata, ruining what could otherwise be a perfect HT.
  3. Hey guys if I already went through the "ugly duckling phase", should I be going through another shed at 3 months? My transplanted hairs are thinning out which I find weird.
  4. Thanks guys. I was getting nervous from the silent treatment Baldybee: The doc said this HT should be good enough for me, but I asked him myself if I can come back for another HT next year, and how many grafts do I have left. I have poor donor, he said I can do 2000 more grafts safely. Personally I will go back next year for another FUE, even though he said this procedure will be good enough.
  5. Oh BTW, I just gave myself a haircut 2 days ago. It looks better grown out, even though it's very early on and nothing significant will happen until about 6-9 months.
  6. @ 3 months(at around 3 months). The one showing the donor area, it's pink because I had just scratched, but it actually looks pretty normal. Please comment, feedback, etc.
  7. Hi. On April 10th 2014, I got a 3000 FUE done at Maral Klinik. I was a NW4. Other than MPB, I also have alopecia areata. I was made aware from Dr Maral that if alopecia areata attacks again, even transplanted hairs will fall. I continued with the operation because it's better than being NW4 with an ugly head. In this post I will post my before pictures, and in my next post I will put up my 3 month post op pictures. Sorry for the different lightnings and angles, but I think it's obvious how bad it was before. Also, some of them are blurry, sorry about that, I do not have a high quality camera.
  8. Hesediel, are you considering going back for another HT? So far, I am satisfied with my 3000 graft FUE from Maral Klinik, i'm at 3 months. Even though it's too early to talk like this, I know for a fact that I want a 2nd, smaller HT to further lower the hairline just a tiny bit if Dr Maral allows it. I have attached photos of how my hair looks right now. How does it look so far? It'll look better in the 8th-9th month I know, but I can pretty much get a glimpse of the final result, and I am sure I will go back for a 2nd and final HT in Maral Klinik, for that hair line. I let my hair grow until a few days ago, and definitely the hair that's grown out in the front helps me cover my forehead which is good news.
  9. This is sad, sorry you didn't get the results you deserved. 4000 grafts is a LOT of grafts no matter how you slice it. I have seen outstanding results with less grafts on similar hairloss level, and even worse. I am a Dr. Maral patient and I can say things are going as expected for me, I am happy so far, I have a positive experience with him and his staff. Something went wrong here obviously, that is not how 4000 grafts should look like at 13 months IMO. And I agree with the above post, I also saw the H&W results that yielded poorly, we are probably thinking about the same one. It happens with even the best doctors in the world.
  10. It looks good so far. Your donor area is like mine, i'm at 2 and a half months. When does the donor area start looking normal?
  11. The thing is it's hard to tell because it's shaved. You should let it grow. But an experienced doctor will know by seeing the donor area regardless if it's shaved or not.
  12. Good to see you back and nice progress. Depending on how my donor area heals up, I might go for another HT with Dr Maral next year. Would you do the same, Hesediel?
  13. I don't think it's 1750 euro for no limit, it's 1700 euro: 1500-2500 grafts, 1750 euro: 2600-3500 grafts, 1800 euro: 3600-4500 grafts. This is straight an email from them on Feb 3 2014. Unless they changed it very recently. I paid 1750 euro($2400 something dollars) for 3000 grafts.
  14. It has been 1 month and 2 weeks, doesn't it take like 3-4 months to start seeing full regrowth of hairs? And that is just when it starts, it should take 6-9 months to get a better idea where your hair is heading. I am 2 weeks and a half out of my HT and hairs are shedding, some hairs haven't shed, I am not worried, I 'll give it 3-4 months.
  15. When I was a little bit younger than I am now, like around 18-23 years old, I was all for FUT. I was afraid of FUE and its "lower yield" plus the price kept me far away from it, at $25-35k for a 2500-3500 session, no way I could afford it, that's like a professional's salary after taxes. Maybe a lot of you here make more than that, seeing as how you can afford these doctors, but I am only a college student. Now at 25 and a lot more research done, I was able to get a very cheap FUE and IMO very good so far and at 13 days post op my head looks normal, like nothing was done to it, with a buzz cut, although the hairs are falling now. It feels like it is the best thing i've done in my life and I still have a long way to go to see results but i'm positive it will all be good. I look back and I can't believe I considered FUT, and eliminating the option of shaving my head. With FUE I can shave my head and look normal.
  16. I was told I can continue taking fin or dut normally on the same day. I did and nothing bad has happened to me, everything is going according to plan, 10 days post op. Dr Maral told me to stop taking minoxidil for I forgot how long, he said a number of weeks, I just forgot the number. That's why I was asking here.
  17. Take pics again but this time with your forehead exposed to see the severity of your thinning. From the looks of it, it looks like you could get some work done in the front but it's unclear. Avodart and Rogaine is a very good combination, I would use Kirkland's minoxidil solution because it penetrates the skin better than the foam.
  18. 5-10 years from now we will be told that there's a treatment that is 5-10 years away. When those 10-20 years get here, the treatment will then go through FDA trials, which takes another 10 years. So 30 years from now, there will be a better treatment. That's my overly pessimistic side talking. My optimistic side says we'll have something better for MPB than finasteride/dutasteride and minoxidil in 7-10 years from now. The quickest being 5 years from now. FDA is a long and expensive process though, and I don't see anything going through FDA right now, except dutasteride for MPB and CB-01-01 for acne, (That I know of, I could be wrong) so we could really be 10+ years away.
  19. Hi, two questions. 1. How long after FUE HT is it safe to use minoxidil? 2. How long after HT do the transplanted hairs fall off? Thanks.
  20. I can not speak on how successful my 3000 graft fue HT has been so far because I am only in my 6th day after surgery, but I have to say so far so good. Donor area has healed up really nice, I did not get butchered, doctor and staff were as professional as it gets, aftercare instructions were clear and all items were provided, doc was very honest about my donor area and me not having great amount of grafts(roughly 5000 total) and not wanting to put my hairline where I actually wanted it which is responsible in his part but a bummer for me but I understand; scabs are coming off little by little, and most importantly I predict that by the looks of it by the end of week 2 the HT would look almost undetectable. So far it's all good and I only paid $2,450 for the surgery. Now it's premature to say anything else until about 6-9 months but I am happy so far and before the surgery I already told myself I will want 2 surgeries, regardless of the doc, one with Maral and then another one 2-3 years later with Dr Koray Erdogan, but now I had a change of heart and I don't see why I would not go with Maral Klinik again for my second surgery next year, but let me not jinx anything for myself. I'll keep my fingers crossed that I get good results. With that said, if you can afford the best or the more known doctors then by all means go ahead, I would if I could but I saw a chance to get a satisfying HT with Maral Klinik for cheap, thanks to real people's results.
  21. I'm at day 6 post op and have already been sleeping normally even 2-3 days ago in Istanbul. It felt a little weird when I did not use the neck pillow but I used this pillow cover they gave me to put on the pillow, to prevent any blood stains even though you shouldn't have any blood in the donor area after day 1-2, maybe only dried blood. My donor area is healing very nicely, it almost blending entirely and I know it takes about 2-3 weeks to fade so it's doing pretty good and i'm sleeping on normal positions. One thing I haven't done is sleep face down.
  22. Realistic expectations for a NW 5-7 means that you are willing to still appear as if you are balding, but you're not exactly bald yet. So after your HT, you'll get the reaction from people "You're balding" Instead of "Damn man, you're bald as hell!" Now if you are a NW2-3, things are different, with a couple of HT's, you could be at a solid NW1 or a thin NW1, still great IMO. For NW4's, like myself, we're in the middle. We need a couple of HT's to get to a solid NW2/2.5. This post is half jest half serious by the way.
  23. Mel Gibson's HT looks natural. I would have just thought he was thinning, rather than he already was balding and then got an HT. Then again, I don't look for things like these. I can only tell when it is very obvious like Mickey Rourke and Robert Davi, those are ridiculous. But I still love Mickey Rourke though, no homo.
