recent FUE with Dr. Lorenzo at farjo

Hi Guys, so ive written a couple of blogs in much more detail but unless you have time to actually sit down and read them im posting on here and updating here..this is the quicker journey!

Basically had 2700 FUE with Dr. Lorenzo at the Farjo clinic on Tuesday/wednesday this week. A fantastic man, surgeon and staff as well as a relaxing place to be...well as relaxing at it can be when you're about to be used a pin-cushion!!!

I'm now at day 3 post surgery and all seems to be healing well, im really happy with the resulting hairline and the donor site shows virtually no signs of the OP. The redness is calming down on the recipient site and i've had some adverse post-op swelling around the eyes and nose (see other blog on this for more detail) and am experiencing some slight itching now but hoping the saline spray keeps this at bay!

These photos will give you more of an idea of the journey so far and im sure at some point Mick from Farjo will upload the proper high-res photos of the surgery as these are just my low-res selfies...

Looks good! I didn't get any swelling on the face as I didn't have much anaesthetic but I do remember from my strip HTs some swelling and Dr Feller advised sitting upright so it drains out and drink lots so in a day or so it should go

thanks guys for your support, i was really worried about the buzz cut look but it looks ok as of now...i guess in 20-30 days time i may be eating my words when the new hairs are shedding and im looking balder....but thats what a baseball cap if for right!:-) ive cancelled a lot of social meets etc for next couple of months or so until my normal hair is growing back in!

Yeh the itching is driving me mad right now but guess ill just have to keep spraying and bear with it! i heard MSM can also numb the nerve endings a little too? any of you guys used it, heard about it?

@romanino ive asked for the stats so ill post em as soon as!:)

My clinic gave me hydrocortisone cream for my donor and it worked well. I used MSM, but haven't heard that it affected nerves like you mention.

The saline spray was given to me as part of my post-op pack from the clinic itself. It seems that different clinics/surgeons have different methods of recovery but i read that a saline spray is some form of salt in water? Helps keep it moist and stops it drying out.some say a moist scalp heals quicker? This i do not know but most on here say that the saline stops you itching so much post-op. ive been itching from day 2 post-op and dont know if anything but willpower helps tbh but if it just helps it heal better then its a winner!

Your swelling will go away so dont panic, i was the same as you with it between my eyes and nose but massaging it a few times a day away from that region along with tons of fluid (water) intake will sort it out in no time!!!:-) happy recovery mate

Hi romanino, all good thanks! Back workng from home now and still dealing with the itching! Not been sleeping well at all as my head has been feeling sore on the donor sites coupled with the itching but theres no redness or sores there and dr. Lorenzo said its all normal so im just riding the wave! Have found a better sleep position now too, i double over the pillow and rest my neck and ear sleeping side onto it rather than the back of my head as that feels weird on the pillow right now.also taking ibuprofen during the day and paracetemol at night. I was washing my full head each morning and night before bed but i find that for an hour or so after washing it feels more sensitive so last night i washed it a few hours before bed and slept much better, maybe try this if youre struggling to sleep!?

Btw your photos look good mate and youve got great coverage too!!!:-)

'g' yes mate will be good to follow your progress....afterall we've all been through the same experience here and all learning tips and tricks from each other and others on this site too. Good luck with your recovery!

Hey guys sorry ive been quiet on here but have been busy working to pay for this OP!!!!:-)

Anyway here's my 8 days post op-pictures from when i visited the Farjo clinic and Dr. Lorenzo (for my stitches taking out from the cyst Lorenzo removed). Dr. Lorenzo personally washed my hair too as i hadnt been massaging the shampoo into my recipient area hard enough and had a few scabs and loose skin coverage. Im really glad that i went back actually as i was scared to wash too hard and damage/wash off any transplanted hairs but in an email Dr. Lorenzo said dont worry ill show you how hard you should be on the area and when you come in ill wash it for you and remove as much as i can...well that he did as he removed about 95% of the scabs and skin etc so i left the clinic a very happy chappy!:-)

He also got his assistants to come along and inspect the area and i was very happy to learn that i had healed really well...good times!:)

As for washing the area. it turns out that from around day 4-8 i should have been washing a bit harder than i had been! simply leaving the water from a low running showerhead on my head for around 5 minutes first to soften the scabs/skin and then massaging the hair with the shampoo with 2 fingers of each hand in a medium to firm pressure was what was required. Dr. lorenzo also used a fine tooth comb and in-between the massaging of the shampoo he very gently used the comb to comb out the scabs/skin. This did the trick for sure and it resulted in a very clean recipient area!

Pictures look great, I'm sure you'll get a great result.

Good that there are now a few of us on here with experiences of Dr Lorenzo.

I personally think that you suit the buzzed look, I think most of us look quite good with it actually. Never thought I'd hear myself say that!
