Regular Member Graftinder100 Posted April 10, 2013 Regular Member Share Posted April 10, 2013 Hello everyone, Ive been trawling this forum for many many hours, long nights and months, gleaning information, dissecting hair transplant stories and educating myself. Red eyes and tired mornings on the verges of an obsessive disorder.lol. Armed with all this information I finally did it. I had an FUE procedure with Dr. Tejinder Bhatti from Darling Buds, Chandigarh, India on the 4th and 5th of this month. I hope to keep forum members informed of my progress over the coming year as ‘my bit’ for all the info and help its members have provided. I had a total of 3,133 grafts comprising of 2, 647 from the back and sides of my head and the remainder from my beard area. I got back home late last night and the jet lag is making me see double  so I will post some pre procedure pics now and add more pics with a detailed account over the forthcoming days. Regular Member Graftinder100 Posted April 11, 2013 Author Regular Member Share Posted April 11, 2013 Ok so here goes. I arrived in Chandigarh from the UK on the 1st of April pm. I was staying at the Altius Hotel. Very comfortable, friendly staff, small boutique style with a lively disco on the top floor. My procedure was scheduled for the 4th and 5th so I had some dentistry work pre arranged from the UK. So in short major make over in my 9 days in India! On the day of my HT procedure I had a light breakfast and a car was sent by Dr Bhatti to pick me up at 7.15am. I arrived at the clinic and was greeted by the very polite staff. I changed into a loose shirt and trousers and had my consultation with Dr Bhatti. His well informed friendly manner instantly reassured me and we discussed my expectations, hairline and the procedure. Bloods were then taken and my graft extraction started 20 minutes later. After the initial anaesthetic in the donor region, which is less painful than being at the dentist, you feel nothing. I could hear the whirring of the mechanical punch and the speed of the extractions were very swift. A short break for breakfast and a coffee. Then the beard grafts were taken and on this occasion the anaesthetic did cause a little discomfort, but was over quickly and the grafts taken. The recipient area is then numbed and the slits are made by Dr Bhatti. Any time I felt discomfort more anaesthetic was given and the whole thing was over quickly. His assistants then place the grafts into the slits overseen by Dr Bhatti. His staff are easy to talk to and the time went quickly and at one point I was so relaxed that I fell asleep in the chair. Dressings were then applied. After a small wait in the clinic to make sure everything was in order, I retired to my hotel with my aftercare instructions for that night and ordered room service, watched TV and Skyped home. My sleep was restful despite the elevated position of my head and the travel cushion helped keep my head positioned well. I returned to the clinic the next day to have extractions from the other side of my head and some from the back. These were used for my crown area. The numbers are Day 1 Scalp 2136 grafts and beard 486 Day 2 Scalp 511 From the scalp grafts of 2647 in total I had 301 single hairs, 882 doubles and 1464 triples. I was sent back to the hotel with a care routine and returned the following day for a wash and dressing change. A more comprehensive care routine was given to me now, involving initial medication and a longer 19 day wash and care procedure to aid speedy recovery. It was explained very well and with great care. My overall experience of Dr Bhatti’s clinic has been a very positive one. The doctor is an accomplished experienced and professional surgeon and the correct choice for me after all my many months of research. His staff are polite and diligent adding to a very pleasant overall experience. So here are some pics of the procedure and day after. will try and put yesterdays pics in the album on my member profile account

Just few questions: What medication did dr Bhatti provide and what is the after care for 19 days.? Looking at for frontal core, how come you didn't have more graft placed in the mid scalp? formerly know as Jayukdht http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/177363-hair-transplant-dr-bhatti-oct-14-part-2-procedure.html

Senior Member Raj Jayukdht Posted April 11, 2013 Senior Member Share Posted April 11, 2013 I guess the next stage would be to address his mid scalp and crown in years to come as his frontal core is sorted now. formerly know as Jayukdht http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/177363-hair-transplant-dr-bhatti-oct-14-part-2-procedure.html
Regular Member Graftinder100 Posted April 12, 2013 Author Regular Member Share Posted April 12, 2013 Hi all I just reread my account of the procedure and it sounds remarkably brave but the reality is that I am not that fearless. I was accompanied on my HT procedure by a group of 2 including Reid Crowley who has already had the procedure performed on him last year by Dr Bhatti and was a fountain of knowledge and constant reassurance. I don’t think the decision to have HT is an easy one and travelling to Chandigarh India is a daunting trip into the unknown. It was important for me that the procedure was affordable and performed by a surgeon I had faith in. I was very pleased I found Reid on the forum during my research and he provided invaluable information in his capacity as UK consultant for Dr Bhatti and made the whole experience a smooth one. I don’t think I would have gone through with it otherwise and this definitely swayed my decision and I have no regrets. Anyway enough of the ‘thankyous’ and onwards we go to hair and growth. Here are my day 7 post procedure pics. I think i’ve messed up my dates on the album and day 11 actually refers to the 11th which is day 6 post procedure. Blame it in the jet lag and excitement So at the moment shampooing twice a day and waiting for the crusts to fall off and reveal the hair shafts. pics are a bit dark. Looks a bit scaby, will try and take some better shots later in the week.
