crizwold
So I got a proposal from Paul Glat in Bala Cynwyd Pa. $4700 for 650 grafts. That's roughly $7.23 per graft. Is this a good deal? Bad? I'm definitely not just looking for the cheapest deal but I would like to know what it average. Let me know your thoughts
Senior Member Jotronic Posted December 20, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted December 20, 2012 Before I even looked this guy up I KNEW he'd be using Neograft. He does all sorts of plastic surgery procedures. You should have your hair done by someone that ONLY does hair, day in, day out. Have a procedure without Neograft. It is not a recommended device. Take a short trip to NYC and see Dr. Feller and don't waste your time with doctors that do butt lifts, tummy tucks and hair transplants on the side. Stick with names that are easy to research. crizwold
Hmm, ok. Thanks. I will look into it. What is the price per graft I should be looking at?
Senior Member Jotronic Posted December 20, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted December 20, 2012 I think you should take a few months to research what you want to do. During your research you will get an idea of what kind of fees are normal and who is worth their asking price. Consider your priorities and work from there. You'll see a wide variety of prices, anywhere from 5 bucks a graft to 14 bucks a graft or more. Cost is always a factor but it shouldn't be the deciding factor. Results, results, results. That is what you need to look for and whomever you choose needs to be consistent. Senior Member aaron1234 Posted December 20, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted December 20, 2012 Joe is spot on. Don't go for the best "deals" with this surgery (and that's not even a great deal). Go with the best surgeons who specialize in hair transplantation. Like Joe said, Feller is a great place to start. Be careful with this. Dr. G: 1,000 grafts (FUT) 2008 Dr. Paul Shapiro: 2,348 grafts (FUT) 2009 ~ 1,999 grafts (FUT) 2011 ~ 300 grafts (Scar Reduction) 2013 Dr. Konior: 771 grafts (FUT) 2015 ~ 558 grafts (FUT) 2017 ~ 1,124 grafts (FUE) 2020 My Hair Transplant Journey with Shapiro Medical Group

Let me know your thoughts Hello Crizwold, I don't know how this facility is counting the grafts; but that is not in line with the top hair Los Angeles Hair Transplant surgeons that I am familiar with. I support a leading clinic's centers throughout Southern Calfifornia...and that fee is nearly double what is typical here. I doubt that this is a surgeon who is an HT expert and is probably using a robotic system. Research the great recommended surgeons here and go with a specialist mate. I don't recommend this path for you at all. I hope this helps. Regular Member MJ2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Regular Member Share Posted December 31, 2012 (edited) crizwold, Hasson & Wong and Dr Rahal (3 of the top surgeons) are charging between $4 to $5 per graft (FUT). Combined with all the above comments, that in itself should really make you stop and take notice. The reason I mention these physicians is because I am researching them for my next HT, that is not to say that Drs Feller, Shapiro, Konior, Charles, Lindsey, etc etc etc are not top surgeons, I just don't have any information on their pricing. Bottom line is there are a bunch of highly recommended surgeons on this site (look at the pull down menus on the top right hand corner for a complete list) and knowledgeable people who've had HTs. Research them and I believe I speak for most on this site when I say you'll be in safe hands. Don't rush. Senior Member Thehairupthere Posted December 31, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted December 31, 2012 I'm actually familiar with that doctor as I am currently doing research on something that I will post about in the future about neograft and the doctors that they advertise with. He does not perform the procedures, but has a technician who does all the work, while he oversees. There are many great doctors within driving range who are worth a trip and a consultation. I would never recommend going to a place that provides many cosmetic services without a devoted and properly trained hair transplantation staff, with a knowledgeable and experienced hair transplant surgeon. Also as a note I believe it is illegal for a technician without a medical degree to perform any surgery (FUE is surgery) in the state of Pennsylvania and most other states. I assume the price he gave you was for the neograft as I believe that is the only hair transplantation they offer. If that is the case the cost for FUE is fair but again I suggest you continue to do your surgeon research on this forum. I am a consultant for Dr. True and Dr. Dorin. These opinions are my own.
