Senior Member spreadlocks Posted October 31, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted October 31, 2012 (edited) Hello Guys. I had 2400 grafts (2000 paid for and 400 as a free gift fromthe doc) from Doctor Feller just under 10 months ago and I feel like it has turned out to be the best decision I have ever made in my life. I am now at the point where I do not worry about my hair anymore and I can now style it how I want to in various ways. I have actually had a few compliments from strangers on how nice my hair is. haha. Anyway, I want to run through a few things for guys who have had HT's or are thinking about them before I post pictures. 1st. It really is the little things that matter. I used to style my hair in a way to hide the bald spots and cover it in hairspray to hold it in the right place. Now I obviously do not need to do this anymore so I no longer shy away from the wind or drizzling rain. If I am out and a friend or a girl ruffles my hair it does not bother me at all and this is really great feeling. In the past I would have immediately ran to the toilet to fix it and check the weak spots were not visible. Not to mention people would wonder why I had rock hard hair (Due to so much hairspray). 2nd. Patientce, Patience, Patience, Patience. Seriously though. Even at months 6, 7 and even 8 I was still worried things weren't happening as I wanted. I am over 9 1/2 months now and it is only the last few weeks that I have really felt comfortable with my hair. There was a point at about 6.5 to 7 months where I wasn't totally happy and I was sure that I had all of the growth I was going to get. I would look at other pics on the net of people I thought had had more growth and what not. Honestly, since then to now I have seen as much difference cosmetically as I did from months 3 to 6. Just hold out guys. Finally I want to say an absolutely MASSIVE thank you to Dr Feller and Spex. I'm not sure if the Doc reads these forums but I know Spex does and I want them to know the difference they have made to my life. I feel more confident now than I did when I was 23 years old 10 years ago. Even my friends Have noticed how much more confident I am these days and although they don't know I have had a HT they all keep telling me how I look great lately. I would suggest anyone deciding on a HT to contact Spex. The guy has been amazing from the second I contacted him all the way up to the last couple of months. He answers emails faster than anybody I have ever worked with. I was always skeptical that so much great stuff was said about Spex and Doc Feller but it is definitely warranted. I think the evidence of how good the docs work has been is that nobody has noticed anything unnatural about my hair and my girlfriend who knows about the HT says it is completely indistinguishable from a natural head of hair. She says it looks completely natural. Anyway. This all sounds like a love letter. Haha. It's just as you can probably tell I am very happy. Pre Ops. These are now. No product or anything. Just straight out the shower and dry. And a wet shot Edited November 1, 2012 by spreadlocks

Senior Member spreadlocks Posted October 31, 2012 Author Senior Member Share Posted October 31, 2012 Also in this post I will post a couple shots where the hair is styled with wax and a little bit of Toppik. I still use a bit of toppik just while I am styling my hair but that is just down to my greed. Hah. It is a very small amount and would not be totally necessary. I just like how my hair looks with it.

Senior Member TommyLucchese Posted October 31, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted October 31, 2012 Looks amazing! You're 6 months ahead of me, I hope I'm as happy as you are. Go and chase those females, my friend. 2,000 grafts FUT Dr. Feller, July 27th 2012. 23 years old at the time. Excellent result. Need crown sorted eventually but concealer works well for now. Propecia and minoxidil since 2010. Fine for 8 years - bad sides after switching to Aindeem in 2018. Switched to topical fin/minox combo from Minoxidil Max in October 2020, along with dermarolling 1x a week. Senior Member chrisdav Posted October 31, 2012 Senior Member Share Posted October 31, 2012 Congratulations Spreadlocks. Your hair looks really good. 2 poor unsatisfactory hair transplants performed in the UK. Based on vast research and meeting patients, I travelled to see Dr Feller in New York to get repaired. Go and chase those females, my friend. Mate. Trust me. The best is ahead. As said, Even at 6 months I was still unsure. Give yourself another 6 months time and I'm sure you'll be as happy as larry. As for the females, I have a long term girlfriend but if things carry on as they have been she's getting dumped. Hahaha. Maybe my girlfriend can blame Doc Feller for the demise of our relationship. Actually though, my friends have been commenting on how much female attention I have been getting when we go out lately. I don't not actually think this is due to a change in appearance though, but actually a change in confidence. Good luck and enjoy the next 6 months Bro. @Chris. Your hair is looking AMAZING too. Thank you for the good words mate.

mrselfconcious
Hi, congrats your hair looks great and very natural. From the pictures, it doesnt seem like you had lost a great deal of hair though? I would be happy with what you had before your transplant! I wonder whether people who have lost more hair would have results that looked as successful as yours? Also, are you taking medication? I would like a transplant but have been advised that I would need to take propecia or equivalent for the rest of my life and it has been shown to cause impotence and lowered libido etc. I wouldnt want to end up in a position where my hair looked good for a while and then it started thinning in other areas. Did you experience shock loss or any other issues? Thanks.
Regular Member davethehairbot Posted November 1, 2012 Regular Member Share Posted November 1, 2012 you and I seem to be in the same ballpark beginning with our hairlines. I hope to look around the way you do when I'm at 9.5 month. although, you got nearly 1000 more grafts. Only time will tell!!

Looking at your thread I would say for the 3 month mark you are pretty much where I was if not even a bit further on leading me to think your result is gonna be equally as good as if not better than mine. You had a thousand less grafts but you covered a MUCH smaller area. You are gonna have a stormer result. Just patients now man. The good times are on the way. Just have to wait out a little

Did you experience shock loss or any other issues? Thanks. Thank you mate. I think my pre ops are pretty decieving as I grew the hair long in a way to hide the loss. The Doc Said I was performing one of the best cover ups he had ever witnessed As for greater hairloss, as long as the hair is transplanted at the correct density and the patient has the donor supply to facilitate it there is no reason it should look any worse at all. Speak to Spex maybe though as I am not a pro. I think it's essential to be on meds to avoid any future loss. A few years ago I went on 1MG of Finestride per day and have suffered no side effects at all. None whatsoever. Since then I take my one pill each morning and I don't think I have lost a single hair since. If it continues to hold out like it has I will never need any more work (Fingers crossed). I am not sure on shock loss as I wasn't sure how much I had as I wore it long. Here is a step by step account in pictures of my pre ops, 2 wekks, 1 month, 2 month, 3 month etc. etc. Hair Restoration Site for spreadlocks

Regular Member Arthur Posted November 1, 2012 Regular Member Share Posted November 1, 2012 I've got a thread on here somewhere man, I'm new to this and not great with computers either! I got 2000 grafts in the hairline and frontal thirds and I agree with everything you said about Feller and Spex, they are like Batman and Robin of the transplant world, saving bald people! Senior Member spreadlocks Posted November 1, 2012 Author Senior Member Share Posted November 1, 2012 Mate. I just checked your thread. The work looks great. The shape of the airline looks great and your scar is going to be rally fine. I can see on the pic your head has a bit swelling. I bet when that dropped the hairline shape looked great. Regular Member Arthur Posted November 1, 2012 Regular Member Share Posted November 1, 2012 Cheers man! I'm posting my 2 weeks pics tomorrow. All has gone smoothly. Went back to work today with no hat on either and apart from being called bonehead by the one person, no one else said a word. I'm happy with that! Got to admit I was inspired by your tremendous combover, mines good but yours is one of the best! I'm pretty much back to normal now, just waiting for the growth to start! Senior Member spreadlocks Posted November 2, 2012 Author Senior Member Share Posted November 2, 2012 Also here are some pics from today as I bothered blowdrying my hair with hot air. It's made it a lot straighter and it looks better actually. Again, there is some toppik in here, with wax and a touch of spray. I took some shots in more normal light without flash on my camera phone too. These give a more realistic picture of the hair as the flash ones are very harsh.
