Like Yiddo says it looks fine mate,to what degree is your fathers hairl loss at?. Also at what age did he start loosing his hair, my hair loss pattern followed my fathers pretty much. Your way to young to even consider opting for a HT anyway any Dr worth his salt would refuse to perform one on you at 20yrs old. Rogaine wouldn't be of any help as its meant for the crown, and you may be to young for meds at the moment.

I do not feel that 20 is too you for propecia and minoxidil. As far as surgery, you need to wait a minimun of 5 years and preferably 10.

I am an online representative for Dr. Raymond Konior who is an elite member of the Coalition of Independent Hair Restoration Physicians.

Hi first of all thank you all for replying

I am not considering a Hair Transplant now i know that i am young

But a significant amount of hair has fallen from front and the sides

My father also started loosing his hair when he was young

He is now 51 and i think that almost 3/4 of his hair is gone

I also wanted to try rogaine but as u said only for crown area :(

so im asking what else can i do??

I think your hair looks great. But there may be miniaturization going on that is not apparent in the pictures. Get a hair miniaturization test done and if it is determined that you are losing hair then get on Fin. But your hair is fine. Worry about something else.

Dr. Paul Shapiro: 2,348 grafts (FUT) 2009 ~ 1,999 grafts (FUT) 2011 ~ 300 grafts (Scar Reduction) 2013

Dr. Konior: 771 grafts (FUT) 2015 ~ 558 grafts (FUT) 2017 ~ 1,124 grafts (FUE) 2020

younis320,

IMHO, I think that your frontal hairline is moving up and back probably just like your father's did at your age. In other words, you like many of us lose our lower juvenile hairline and as we move into post teen years and into aduthood. It's perfectly normal.

Are there other family members who have a "higher" hairline? Including the women?

I do see the beginning stages of MPB, but as others have said, minoxidil won't help your hairline and you need to be examined and tested by a reputable doctor who can potentially monitor your hairloss in these coming years.

Aaron is correct in that you need to be microscopically examined for miniturization throughout your entire scalp. A digital scope is what is needed at the present time and then see how and where DHT may be affecting your scalp in the future.

You may or may not be ready for finasteride Propecia but then again finasteride is also most effective in the crown and not the frontal zone where your concerns are.

You need a reputable doctor right now, not a transplant as you already know. Keep doing your research and whatever you do, "Don't let anyone talk you into doing a transplant right now". There are some unscroupolus docs and/or consultants out there that will try and sell you a procedure anyway. Be careful because some of them will tell you that a HT will solve your concerns and tell you what you want to hear!

HI younis... trust me dont worry this much ... I was like 20 say 7 and a half years ago lol.... and i stressed so much on a norwood 1A , I started losing hair from all over my scalp.

Propecia is not a good idea and Minoxidil neither.... I used minoxidil from 21 onwards until i couldnt sustain ti at times.... after leaving it in a year my hair loss was sooomuch I couldnt bear it .. All that science that minoxidil does not create further hairloss is rubbish. I am sure it causes more than you were supposed to lose if you were not using it .

No one in my family is bald from either side.... I suggest get saw palmetto , calm your mind and start using saw palmetto on an everyday basis and stick to it dont think about your hair... I am sure it will be enough to sustain your current hair for atleast 10 to 12 years and later you can consider other options . STAY calm. Stress can aso make you lose hair in lumps like it did for me .

You're welcome my friend.

It still would be a good idea to have your scalp microscopically examined routinely to know where you have miniturization.

You can puchase the scope for roughly $51.00 US online from Radio Shack.
