Bernstein Medical - Center for Hair Restoration patient VSQ had multiple hair transplant procedures that left him with a frontal rim of plugs and marked central baldness that was difficult to camouflage, even with a comb-over. In addition, he had scarring at his frontal hairline and a substantially depleted donor supply. Four repair procedures were performed to remove the large grafts and redistribute them as individual follicular units in the front and mid-part of his scalp. In the fifth procedure, we transplanted an additional 1,184 follicular units from the donor area into the front and mid-portion of his scalp.

Although VSQ still relies on combed over hair to add fullness to the top part of his scalp, note the natural appearance of the restoration.

Yes, that is still a comb over but it looks sooooo much better. Very natural upfront when before it was a war zone.

I can't understand how doing FUE in a depleted donor area can work. If the donor area is depleted wouldn't doing over 1100 FUEs just make it look worse? Why/how would it not be better to do a strip?
